@@apel2987 you will have to redo the reinstall method to load them in. You can add in as many skins as you want and then just do the reinstall method once and they will all show up in game👍🏼
I got it to work!! For anyone with issues here's the trouble shooting I did: Issue 1: the internet Brower didn't have a cursor. Click the 3 dots in the corner and switch it from xbox to mobile mode. Then the cursor should work. Issue 2: only the first 5 skin slots worked for me. It wouldn't let me open all the skins in the pack. Just the first 5. So when adding skins use the first 5 slots. Issue 3: when I downloaded the spongebob minecraft then updated the minecrafts didn't merge. What I did was delete minecraft (the original one I had downloaded) and click update on the new one. Then it downloaded the correct minecraft and merged. Also side note if you decide to add more skins after the first try. repeat the issue 3 fix and delete and reupdate minecraft. The updated minecraft should still be there but if it's not look it up in the spongebob method and delete and re-download/ update minecraft. But don't delete minecraft until you download the newest one you want. Otherwise it doesn't work. Hope it helped!
This somehow still works! One slight issue that I had was that the two weren’t merging together, but when I deleted the newer version and went to “update” the older version, the new version was back and had the skin pack working!
Sorry in advance for my english. I tried it for my friend on October 21, 2024. It still works but the steps are a little different. As soon as you put your add-ons/skins, etc. Close all of the apps you were using, Minecraft too. Then uninstall Minecraft and then reinstall it (game pass version). Then search SpongeBob extension and install the game like in the video. It will tell you that this Minecraft need an update. You will have to uninstall the game pass version and then update the one who need it. Then it's done. I'm in France so I don't know if it will be the same for every location.

@@donovanmurray1831 I found a fix for it. After you install the spongebob version you need to uninstall the normal minecraft version then try playing the spongebob version, it will say it needs to update so click update and after it updates just play it and it should be good
Absolutely awesome. You also do not have to do the placeholder skin pack tho it may be easier. If you already have one of the old skin packs from before this method, you can just replace the files inside the existing pack the same way. Less work for those who are only here for the skin packs rather than the complexity of modding

There is a huge issue where only the first couple of skins are able to be used, whenever you press "95+" it doesnt show up and all of the slim skins become unusable

i used a custom skin pack maker to get an exacted version of a skin pack i made, and put all the directories with the skins and it still didn’t show up…
Btw you dont actually have to sit at that external page for 5 seconds you just have open close then go back and wait that five seconds due to most if not almost all web browsers preventing most forms of CORS to prevent some malicious site from gaining info about say your Microsoft or google account the two domains cant communicate client side and i highly doubt that any dev advertising there cares to implement a check i mean technically i could see them checking to see if redirect exists by storing it in a variable then checking it but idk if that would violate CORS restrictions as well and frankly i have no current interest in testing it
Well if you guys updated your microsoft store, it might explain why. So you can factory reset and turn off keep updated m'y games and app. So like that you will be able to install it everytime. I know it because I can still install mods.
Mr Smitty man I have a problem So I tried the reinstall method (I followed all the steps) and it didn't merge, so I used the solution provided in the comments (Delete the og minecraft and update the spongebob one) and uhm... once I clicked "update" it took me to the install queue where another minecraft is downloading, but it's stuck on 0.0%. I thought that I'd try to pause or cancel the update to retry, but they're just not doing anything. I even restarted my xbox and the update still hasn't cancelled. Edit: I managed to cancel the update, redid the process (install spongebob ver, uninstall og, update spongebob ver) but the installation process will not shift from 0.0%. Any help would be really appreciated

I did all of the steps until the custom folder, where the skins to replace would not show up when I had my skin file copied. If I open the texts folder, I can see the skins again, but because I opened the folder, i cannot paste my own skin in there. I tried fixing it by copying my skin from a second tab and pasting it in the texts file (without moving the custom file to skin packs and my image) and i got kicked out of the folder. Whever I attempt to do the process normally, the only file visible is the en_Us.lang file. If anyone has any information to help, it would be greatly appreciated

Issue with this, is you definitely can get flagged for doing dev mode things on retail mode. Now you may be able to swing it specifically bc you already have dev mode? Won't flag prolly. But in general last yr they cracked down on doing things like that when you don't have dev mode
There was a lovely workaround that was making the rounds and everyone who was on emulators and doing dev stuff in retail got I believe a 2 week suspension
I did this and got to the last point where I had to update it but it wouldn't properly update. now I feel like imma have a virus or something on my xbox because of the amount of files and thinks we went through.

For yall wining about the reinstall method you need to have minecraft minecraft then it should be abable to download after you download it delete the real minecraft then it should install then press the old version of minecraft it should say update after its updates you will have the mods and the regular minecraft

You have to delete the original minecraft then press on the special version then it should say update then it should install the original one and then u should have ur skins in game. But I tried a few months ago and it worked but I tried adding new skins yesterday and I delete my skins and now it won't show my skins and if it those it says I have 95+ skins bit I can't open it. So I'd say it might have gotten patched

Over 2 months later and I can confirm it still works. However, you need to name your custom skin number 1-5 because you can’t view anything over 5.

I actually had this same issue. Go into the browsers settings and switch it to the mobile version for navigation. Worked for me

I recently joined the discord because of a problem I had with download skin packs. I made a support but no one responded. The issue was that after doing the reinstall, the pack was in the game, but had no skins and it said +0.

Yo smitty, do you think that we can finally get 4d skin on xbox without dev mode? Because I got them on m'y dev account but I think there might be a way to get them on a basic account.
Issue with this, is you definitely can get flagged for doing dev mode things on retail mode. Now you may be able to swing it specifically bc you already have dev mode? Won't flag prolly. But in general last yr they cracked down on doing things like that when you don't have dev mode
There was a lovely workaround that was making the rounds and everyone who was on emulators and doing dev stuff in retail got I believe a 2 week suspension

you delete the minecraft that lets you in and when you do delete it update the minecraft that won't let you in

So i followed every step and everything went smoothly but the skin pack just isnt showing when i go to the dressing room
Your texture pack doesn't show up, in mediafire it says that the file access is invalid
It doesn't work for me when I try to update the special version minecraft it does not update it it just lag for a moment and than the update bar disappeare and won't combine with the original minecraft
when you install the spongebob version, uninstall the normal version and click on the spongebob version then it should say update, update it and when it finishes you can play and you should have the skin pack

Can it be any skinpack or placing the custom skin can corrupt the others?
If I want to add another custom skin, do I need to create another skin pack or can I add it to the same one?

For yall wining about the reinstall method you need to have minecraft minecraft then it should be abable to download after you download it delete the real minecraft then it should install then press the old version of minecraft it should say update after its updates you will have the mods and the regular minecraft

I'm having the same problem and i havent found any way of solving it. I guess we just have to wait until mojang updates the game again.

But I tried a few months ago and it worked but I tried adding new skins yesterday and I delete my skins and now it won't show my skins and if it those it says I have 95+ skins bit I can't open it. So I'd say it might have gotten patched
