It was criminal that Taron didn't receive at least an Oscar nomination as Elton John. Especially when you consider that he received nominations from BAFTA and SAG and won a Golden Globe, as well as a Satellite. He nails Elton's phrasing on the songs, sings them beautifully and perfectly, and also Elton's performance facial expressions, his walk and his run, and all along he's convincingly dramatic and authentically comedic
And Rocketman will make less then half of Bohemian Rhapsody. Maybe less than a third. @@MissyLeaBeauty why not? Same director, both about eccentric LGBT men, who both created a persona around them.
jajceboy because it just isn’t the same stories! It’s not because they are both LGBT stories that we should compare those two movies. It just doesn’t make senses! And also Rocketman is a musical and BR isn’t!
Bohemian Rhapsody was a biopic? Don't make me laugh, that movie was barely accurate. Majority of the stuff that happened in the movie, never happened in real life.
It was criminal that Taron didn't receive at least an Oscar nomination as Elton John. Especially when you consider that he received nominations from BAFTA and SAG and won a Golden Globe, as well as a Satellite. He nails Elton's phrasing on the songs, sings them beautifully and perfectly, and also Elton's performance facial expressions, his walk and his run, and all along he's convincingly dramatic and authentically comedic
lol ironic because rocketman was WAYY better than bohemian rhapsody
And Rocketman will make less then half of Bohemian Rhapsody. Maybe less than a third. Perhaps it's because Freddie is beloved and way more talented while Elton is a narcissist who is always feuding with people. I thought it was funny how he kept trashing Madonna, and said she wouldn't win that Golden Glove over him and she did. Karma. LOL.
I fucking loved Taron as Elton John!! ♥️♥️
Rami malek was straight but played freddie mercury.
Perfect cast loved the movie and believe me I was shocked I'd even be interested since I dont normally care for musicals...
I bet Bryce didnt wanna be so rude to the people she was in the movie, but she pulled such a believable act, it was awesome :O
Not all gay characters have to be played by gay actors look at Modern Family for example the character Cam who is one half of the gay couple in the show is played by Eric Stonestreet who is straight the same can be said about straight characters not all straight characters have to played by straight actors look at Barney from How I Met Your Mother and Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory both of those characters were played by gay actors Neil Patrick Harris and Jim Parsons
also Jack Falahee inhow to get away with murder
Don't forget Robert Reed in the Brady Bunch.
Was such a great movie. Be cool they could do a movies on mamas and papas, journey, Styx, Janis Joplin, the monkees, the eagles, abba
This is such a brilliant film even better than Bo Rhap . All the actors perfectly cast . Have watched it many times now and get more out of it.
but freddy was gay and rami got praise AND AN OSCAR FOR CRYING OUT LOUD ❤ for his incredible performance??????
Elton did shade Rami Malek for lip sync and that's that
Prince McQueen I didn’t realize that people are so salty about Rami Malek lip syncing, and it honestly makes no sense to me. Freddie Mercury had a one in a million (billion) voice, why would you want to have an actor who is not a singer try to replicate it?? My dad even said he didn’t deserve his Oscar because of it!! Absolutely ridiculous.
Anyone with an ounce of a brain cell would know they’re friends and he wasn’t shading him. Even then, Rami isn’t anywhere near Freddie levels of singing.
Actually, over half the music in that movie wasn't Freddie, it was done by Marc Martel.
Cmon it is just a movie, Rami Malek did an awesome job and he acutally had singing lessons so that it wouldn't not look obvious that Rami isn't singing himself in the movie!
Just saw this tonight.. loved it!!!!
Taron Egerton was the Cinderella shoe on the perfect/right actor. No one else could have done this movie besides Elton John himself.
Justin Timberlake would look like Elton JOhn, but if they don't want a lipsync, Justin doesn't sound the same as Elton.
* Sir Elton John
not 'mister'
So excited to see this movie
Who else hated when the kid sang underwater my ears began hurting during that
I'm in love with this movie😍
I’m in love with Taron Egerton
Very very great list I like it a lot and a lot of fun too and a great list I can't wait to see it
What if Elton john played Elton john in Rocketman
a babe with many talents
I heve not watch Rocketman yet but I'm glad it's not a bio pic so it shouldn't be as disastrous as Bohemian Rhapsody.
I hate that people were so butt hurt because a straight actor played Elton- Elton has said many times that he loves tarons performance- We do not argue with Elton😂
His performance as Johnny singing I'm Still Standing was Taron Egerton's audition for Rocketman! I can't confirm nor deny that.
Damm!! Do u know r doing a great job !!! Huff I love it
Umm does anyone notice that I see Tom Hardy in the thumbnail from Venom

David Bowie and Ozzy Osbourne should have a movie
A David Bowie biopic is being made.
Charlotte Louise just nutted
Prince should also have a movie made
@@charlottelouise1409 And which one of the possible actors are suited to play David Bowie?
aj pat, I don't know who is going to play him.
It's so good.
3:27 which why I guess Brian Singer was credited in the opening instead of him.
to me rocketman, is like if they took a broadway play and staged it as a play for the big screen
I'm gonna have to see this, _and I don't give a damn who's gay and who isn't._ I doubt many viewers have ever heard of the late Jimmy Durante, who summed up the way I've always felt about this subject. There was a scandal of some sort involving gays in Hollywood, "In Olden Days," and someone asked Jimmy how he felt about it. He replied, "I don't know why everybody doesn't leave everybody else the HELL alone!" Yeah, why not?
Ties to Elton is now
“Six Degrees of Taron Egerton” 😁
