Thank you for such a beautiful project with Ash. Its a tree that is traditionally used for baseball bats, tennis rackets and many everyday items. It is resillient to shock, so the "crack of the bat" sound we associate with a well hit baseball is the sound of a ball hitting a bat made of Ash ❤
After nearly 40 years of crafting tens of thousands of ceramic and gold teeth for people, some famous celebrities and feeling pride in my work, I can only describe this project as magnificent.
David, i’m shocked by your ability to see beauty in an ugly piece of wood, pull out this beauty and show us! Потрясающее умение видеть красоту в каждом уродливом куске дерева и умение вытянуть эту красоту и показать людям. Bravo!!!
I can not express my feelings about your talent and foresight to create such magnificent things from nothing a person would give a second look at. It is truly a unique and beautiful piece of art.
I am truly amazed at the vision you all see in a piece of wood that doesn't have much form, and you turn it into a stunning work of art. Thank you for sharing your love of this craft. How I would long for this kind of ability.
As any woodturner develops his/her craft, one learns that the wood dictates the art. This is probably the finest example of this. You saw the absolute beauty of the piece and did as the wood directed you. Only a true craftsman can accomplish this. Thank you for sharing your talents and skills with us. A magnificent piece!!!
i am doubly stunned! Not only did you reveal the physical beauty of the wood, your videography of its creation is a masterpiece itself! You good Sir, and a few others i've come across, bring a new definition of Fine Art to the world! Kudos and blessings 🙏
I’m normally not a fan of ash for turning, but this is amazingly well done, and very warm toned with your finish. After the tung wax the sheen level looked really great. Not plasticky like some finishes, but just right. Great job!!
Your art is never “exceptionally mediocre” great shirt. But seriously, DAAAAAAAMMMMN DAVID!!! I always love seeing your visions come to life. I enjoy watching and slowly seeing what you envisioned and saw in the chunks of wood that no one else sees when they see a tree stump. I’m too basic and although an artist in a way, I have always envied TRULY CREATIVE MINDS.
Probably seen this one 5 or 6 times now. Still enjoy the peace that it creates while the piece is crafted. The choice in music always matches the creation well. Thanks for sharing as always
I've watched this complete video 3x over the past year! It's absolutely beautiful! I'm always on the lookout for logs like this, now that I'm a turner! I have one now, but I'm not brave enough to turn it yet. It's box elder, ( Manitoba Maple up here in Canada). I don't want to destroy it!
Thank you for not chatting on incessantly and mugging for the camera. Your excellent work speaks for itself - both your woodturning and your videography. Superb camera angles - just enough to make it interesting but not over top and annoying. Magnificent woodturning art. A true pleasure to watch.
I have now seen how to save a different cut of wood and turn it into something beautiful. Thank you for the video that opens the creative mind you have into something I can use. Absolutely Beautiful.
Thank you once again for showing us your beautiful beautiful talent and with ash!! Be still my heart!! I'm just a novice using my grandfather's antique lathe. The tag says the date of the late 1800s and at one time was powered but foot power.
Man am I glad your RUclips channel popped up on my feed. I watch many wood turning and your my new fav. Love everything about how you edit, the no talking and very calming but little music. Beautiful workmanship. Great art wrk is greatly admired. 🇺🇸👍🏽 From SC
For the past few months I cannot drive by the different woods near my home without glancing at fallen trees and broken bits of trunks and branches without imagining what could be done with them with the right tools and talent- seeing this video has moved me closer to being able to imagine those possibilities more clearly. I am an artist working in drawing and painting and there is always a little voice speaking to me in various inspirations 'try this' and I have learned over time to actually listen and give those things a try and my life has never been the same. I watch you (and by the way the video production of this is excellent) and that voice begins to speak again. Love what you are able to do. Maybe someday I shall take a class in woodturning and see what I am capable of in this arena. Continued good luck and success to you in your own art.
I'm grateful you allowed us to come into your life and see something unfold that we would have never imagined. Please, never stop your passion. Thanks again for sharing.
I absolutely hate sitting Thru a movie, but watching you work is mesmerizing. Classy videos. No talk. Incredible music. And incredible talent. Just started woodworking and you my dear Inspire me to be better. Love that we have no clue what you look like. What a gift you have... thank you!
Nature creates such beauty and you have the skill to bring it out of the wood..Love your new toy too ,certainly could not have done this on your old one ..Just love this bowl 😀
I’ve had a very similar Cyprus log laying around taking up valuable space . NOW I can see how I’ll work it thanks to you. If I can figure out how to picture it before, during, and finished, I will gladly share with you.
I do believe you could turn the Rock of Gibraltar on that lathe....having the best tools is great....knowing how to use them with skill, patience, and creativity is superior....fine work! Best wishes and stay healthy.
Ok so I'm officially jealous. I have been looking at the Robust for months now. I have a Grizzly with a bent shaft. I still turn with it. You learn to live with what you have while dreaming of something better. That Robust is an awesome machine. Nice job on the piece. It's beautiful.
I had a Jet lathe similar to the one that appears at the start of this video, and I also outgrew it, fast! I replaced it with a Powermatic 3520B, which was much, MUCH better! I turn mostly hollow forms (through a small opening, down to about an inch, which is small on a 12" HF). I COULD use an even bigger lathe, but I do believe in limitations. This will probably be my last lathe, though I could still use a nice hefty VicMarc chuck...
I cannot believe I am saying this, but, that was the most-trippy or the trippiest woodturning video I have ever seen. What is even more trippier is yes I am on the magic bud. I am laughing heartily. Good job.
Excellent, David!!! Very nice. Great looking new lathe. That chunk of wood was well balanced on lathe and I did not notice any shake, rattle or roll of the machine dancing across the floor. Job well done, my friend.
I do not know a lot about art but I know what I like, what you create using different types of wood is quite beautiful ever piece has grace and fluidity,it is also very relaxing watching you bring wood back to life.my favourite creation has to be the burl of insanity
Wow what an enjoyable video. That looks like a top shelf lathe, I'll just bet it's every bit as smooth as it looks. I love the colors of that Ash, it looks like it holds all the colors of a sunset. Thanks a ton, David!
It takes an enormous amount of skill and patience to work a piece of wood with that many defects and produce such a magnificent result. Oh, and I neglected to say...the imagination to see what lurked within the twisted, diseased and rotting carcass and find the beauty that very few could see.
David: You have made some beautiful pieces, and looking forward to seeing what you create with this new tool. The weight difference must feel amazing. Keep turning and wishing you wellness. Best
You literally pick the most peaceful music. Woodturning+great music=fantastic content.
One of the best I've seen - just wood, no resin!
I never knew that watching wood turning videos was addictive. Is there a twelve step program for guys like me?
Magnificent. Such vision. Such skill. Such Beauty. Such art. I am in awe. I bow before you! Thank you!
Cheers Bill! I am always learning!
P
Steady on bill jones😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤪 incredible work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Really?
Maybe you should ask him out😂
Not only is that a fine piece of woodworking, but some pretty fabulous photography as well! Nicely done!

Thank you, Christina!!
wow! this is the old lathe BIG BROTHER and the resulting piece is astounding

Pure brilliance no one can ever deny how talented and amazing your brain works just mind-blowing.
Yep - always put your name on a piece of beauty like that!
Cheers Patti!
Beautifully honors the original piece of wood!
I’m normally not a fan of ash for turning, but this is amazingly well done, and very warm toned with your finish. After the tung wax the sheen level looked really great. Not plasticky like some finishes, but just right. Great job!!
Your pieces are so beautiful and unique. I love watching them come to life!

Hipnotizing, mesmerising and absolutely satisfying 😍❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Удоволствие е да гледаш как едно дърво се превръща в предмет на изкуството под талантливите ръце на майстора. Поздрави за идеите и изработката !!!!
Now you're just showing off you are not human anybody can come up with such marvelous artwork it's ingenious
Few things more spectacular than polished Wood Grain.
Just beautiful.
Probably seen this one 5 or 6 times now. Still enjoy the peace that it creates while the piece is crafted. The choice in music always matches the creation well. Thanks for sharing as always
Thanks so much !
Once again I scratch my head at how you “see” the possibilities out of a hunk of a tree before you begin. Another great piece of art. Cheers!
I was heard a young artist asked how he created his pieces. He said that he would look at a piece of wood, see what was in it and let it out.
Spectacular work. I love the live edge. You have a wonderful gift and it’s amazing to watch.
Great work and vision. The Lord has given you a wonderful gift. Well done!
God is good.

I have now seen how to save a different cut of wood and turn it into something beautiful. Thank you for the video that opens the creative mind you have into something I can use. Absolutely Beautiful.
I'm impressed by how gingerly you hold the tools throughout instead if fighting the wood with a death grip.
U r imagination, is unbelieveable!! Such talent is amazing!! Thank u 4 sharing!!
never seen anything so elegant, organic and balanced
Your videos are always on par with your pieces, and your pieces are always stunning.❤❤🎵🎵
Thank you so much, I appreciate that!
You sir are an artist. Thank you for sharing ! You inspire me to be a better wood turner!
I have a Sweet 16 and love it. Happy turning.
Completely gorgeous so glad you kept the live edge including the slight curl. Thank you.

Wow! That is one of the most beautiful pieces of wood I've ever seen! Absolutely wonderful!
I was really glad you left the bark lip. It makes the piece all the more magical and mysterious.
Amazing ability and a stunning work of art
Absolutely Stunning! thank you
Very beautiful! I love how the inside almost glows a golden color.
I love the feeling when breaking in a new machine.
Great craftsmanship.
Thank you once again for showing us your beautiful beautiful talent and with ash!! Be still my heart!! I'm just a novice using my grandfather's antique lathe. The tag says the date of the late 1800s and at one time was powered but foot power.
Thank you! ✌️ Wow that sounds like a cool machine!
I am so obsessed with watching your videos when settling in for the night! Magnificent work!
Glad you like them! Thank you!

You nailed this. I dig the shape because it show off the grain in every direction.
Spots on it look like polished jasper.

Gorgeous bowl. And perfect design for the edges. Thank You
Exceptional yes - mediocre never!! Amazing turning, incredible bowl, great lathe, beautiful photography. I’ve just subscribed. Thank you🌞
My Father taught me to appreciate the beauty of wood. It is truly an amazing product for constructing and for sculpting.
THAT started out in the wood pile! An amazing gift you have Mr Adamsen.
Nature creates such beauty and you have the skill to bring it out of the wood..Love your new toy too ,certainly could not have done this on your old one ..Just love this bowl 😀
Beautiful work! So glad to see a big beautiful bowl.
Wow!!!! Spectacular!!!

Thank you so much Skip!
True master at work. Really enjoy watching your turnings.
480 thumbs down? Who couldn't like this masterpiece? Awesome my friend!
Cheers Mark!
This bowl reminds me of Aubrey 2, and I love that about it.
Trabalho maravilhoso! Transformou em uma jóia rara! Parabéns!
Mesmerizing!

Why not change the shaft?

Beautiful organic piece. A piece of art.🧿
Outstandingly beautiful piece of art. Thanks for gifting us with this video. All the best
Thank you John! I appreciate that. It was definitely nice not having to worry about taming a wild lathe 🤣
From beast to beauty! Your skill and talent are amazing.
You keep making things of beauty! Wish I could afford one, just to sit on my coffee table and be looked at. By me by myself. So lovely.
Thank you!
I do not know a lot about art but I know what I like, what you create using different types of wood is quite beautiful ever piece has grace and fluidity,it is also very relaxing watching you bring wood back to life.my favourite creation has to be the burl of insanity
The shirt did it for me and I laughed so hard seeing it.
That is absolutely beautiful boss!! Holy crap! To bring out the beauty within that chunk of wood, dang.
Love, love, love this piece. Just beautiful. Well done for showing us what a talented man you are
If I made a base that small it would tumble over Im quite sure. Nice work.
Congrats to your new lathe!! Looks beautiful.
Rodin claimed to be able to see what was waiting inside a chunk of stone, for you it's what some people would consider a piece of firewood. Beautiful.
Wow what an enjoyable video. That looks like a top shelf lathe, I'll just bet it's every bit as smooth as it looks.
I love the colors of that Ash, it looks like it holds all the colors of a sunset. Thanks a ton, David!
Thanks so much Seti!
An amazing work of art and talent. Thanks for sharing!

The only word I can come up with to describe this piece of art is, Stunning! 😊
That machine sure is a beauty ! good luck with it . The bowl is beautiful . Thanks
David: You have made some beautiful pieces, and looking forward to seeing what you create with this new tool. The weight difference must feel amazing. Keep turning and wishing you wellness. Best
The turning was already really cool, but the fact that you also use tung oil is why I just subscribed!
Wow, what a big beauty. ❤️
Thank you Mary! ✌️
