    The SP looks better with this colour scheme but it still ain't pretty. I think it will look better with a bikini fairing or front screen fitted. Really interested to see how this compares to the 890R Duke, Triumph 765 Street Triple RS and the new Ducati Monster. All are around the same price and are close in weight etc. Hopefully a new XSR 900 will follow shortly as well. Ride safe.

    • @freebehindbars8654
      @freebehindbars8654 3 года назад +2

      @@jeffrt3893 That 890R is on a different level, but I’d definitely choose the Yamaha reliability. Have yet to ride a bike as exciting as that KTM. The Duke has everything you listed, expect it has a twin that produces more torque lower in the rev range, with top of the line parts at every turn. It’s the bike that’s making all the other manufacturers step their game up.

    • @freebehindbars8654
      @freebehindbars8654 3 года назад

      @@jeffrt3893 I agree the quick shifter comes locked is BS, but that’s the difference between a Japanese bike and one from Europe. Track pack is another “pay to play” with a feature already on the bike. Either way, until you’ve ridden an 890R, you have no idea what you’re missing. Yamaha has a better warranty as well, with KTM not covering most electronics, which, again, is bs.

    Great, honest, usable info review. I think, SP especially, is a beautiful bike. Bang for the buck looks hard to beat. Always fun to listen to someone who knows bikes and how to ride them be genuinely impressed. All I can think of would be if I ride in a way to use or need cruise control, which I won't/don't, I'd get a Goldwing or car. However, no problem in paying extra for The SP even if I can't ride like Toad.

      Well, I’m a 53 year old Scandinavian, and I think it looks amazing!! At first I was in doubt about the headlight, but seeing it in the flesh, it just fits the bike. Traded in my MT10 for a SP! :-D

    For the money it looks a crackerjack ride. Has all you need (would still like a centre stand) for long rides out but would probably question its touring ability. Still don’t know how Yamaha’s long-term build quality stands up to Honda’s, however. I still can’t be persuaded by the looks (overall) and particularly the front end.

    From the perspective of someone who owned 1 pcs 2014, and 4 pcs of 2019, I can only tell, I wouldn't ever in my life buy antything after 2019. They reduced the power and every next line is weaker but overloaded with electronics aid and with serial failures. With 2014 you knew that the bike has jerky throttle but plenty of power. And thats it. Everyrhing after is just shit.
