  • The Los Rios Street #historical district is the oldest street and neighborhood in #california. #adobe homes were constructed in 1794 as a neighborhood for the #Acjachemen #nativeamerican that lived and worked at #mission #sanjuancapistrano .
Los Rios Street would see numerous changes as it has been under the control of #spain , #mexico , and the #unitedstates . Most of the adobe homes were lost or replaced with more modern materials, however three of the original adobes are still in existence. Visitors can enjoy learning about the history of the Rios, Montanez, and Silvas adobes.
In this #documentary, we will learn about the history of the Los Rios Street neighborhood. We will find out how it has transformed from a neighborhood for slave laborers, to a quaint street filled with tea houses. Finally, we’ll learn about the three surviving restored adobes, the Silvas adobe, the Rios adobe, and the Montanez adobe. All of which pay tribute to the history of the Los Rios district.
