I made this recipe for lunch today. So glad I did it. I didn't have BBQ sauce so I just used black.pepper, chilli, and Honey, and it was just fine. Deffinately going to make it again. ❤❤❤❤❤
I love the idea of using barcabonate of Soda to boil and then discard. Just thinking about the nurturing process of growing spinach, it is highly likely that there's some pesticide residue on it. Barcabonate of Soda is recommended for washing/cleaning either veges or fruits before consumption. Thumbs up Cooking👸
When you drain the water from spinach all the the nutrients are wasted, I would recommend to just cook with the gravy you made instead of boiling it first. Other than that it looks great!!
Draining water is something that many Chefs do. Why? Depending on kind of recipe ya have, if ya dont drain spinach, its got tendency of over powering any other thing ya using to cook, ie spices, and or if ya addn water ya must consider that water spinach adds, which might be tricky!
I agree witht he nutrient advice, but all the same I like the recipes. I have loads of spinach and swish chard growing. Can't wait to give the recipes a try. Thank you. Looking forward to more of your vids.
Nice recipe!! but by cooking the spinach beforehand, and throwing the water away, you are losing all the nutrients......why not throw the spinach in as uncooked, and let it simmer for longer.......that way you dont lose the nutrients.........
Yes it is ok to drain spinach water for reasons iv given below. Iv seen international chefs doin it, what i dont understand tho is need for bicarbonate soda!
Cook faster like in less than 5 minutes adds a certain smoothy taste makes it just perfect (soda) I'd not drain but rather use a small amount of water less than half a cup

Spinach has an enzyme which if consumed too much causes uric acid....its best to discard the liquid ...the process is done to eliminate that enzyme.
@@steffli6722 It's true

@2:15 I heard "muma!" And I thought it was my kid 🤣🤣 I'm yelling "what do you need baby?!" And he's all confused cuz he didn't yell for me hahah 😅
That was my lovely little baby. Mama’s boy.
Won't all this boiling kill the benefits or nutrients it can give? Recipe looks good by the way.
Looks great
It's look yummy 😋❤
Thank you 😋
You're a life saver!
Great video but you could've used any other music .. this was my ring tone and I found it disturbing haha

Are you Sierra Leonean?

Nice one
Thanks for watching
Trying the recipe noe
Where can I get the vegetable
Most vegetable markets. Or you can grow it on your yard.
With hot water haven't you killed the nutrients?
Did you just make spinach smoortjie...
Nice food
Why did u add baking soda
It helps soften the spinach.
Ohhh ok thanks for the reply
In order to save nutrients rather steam than boil.
How much spinach did u use?
A bunch.
Not the Samsung ringtone 😭😭😭
Samsung mboga!!!
Healthy and vegan - awesome!!
It was already soggy...if you want to blanch..do it so quick..
Boiling spinach defeats the benefits of having the nutrients. I dont think we should boil the spinach as its not a hard veggie that needs softening
Yeah. You right
You didn’t need to boil the spinach but ok
Thank you. I will also try the other method without boiling it.
You don't boil spinach just steam for about 4 min
Leaf iț💓😚
Someone sent me a link and this is what it brings me to 😑
Learn how to Cook is the message.
@@miss_sana97 😂😂😂lmafo. Exactly
But boiling loses thier nutritions.
Boiling spinach and throw away the green goodness should be classified a crime
Thank you for advice. Will do a better version of cooking spinach.
Hi lady how are you doing?
Nice
