@stephensthebomb Nah not really, we just used to own a quarter of the world, produced the most widely spoken language on the planet. Influenced what modern day culture is like today by creating the majority of sports that are played today. Making ground breaking innovations and scientific advances which put us where we are today. No just ordinary really.
@TLG160 You're clearly not a cyclist. I'm not an archer, so I don't find archery that interesting. I'm not a diver so I don't find diving that interesting. If you had any idea of the skill and subtlety of what's going on you'd find it exciting. But cycling doesn't interest you. Keep your opinions about it to your self please.
I don't know much about this sport at all but why does one guy start behind the other? We have a triple world junior champion at my school for track cycling so I just wanted to know what it's about.

For those who speak English: I had a hunch Great Britain was going to win the gold when I saw the final heat.
I think the commentator was ill so they had to use the text to speech in windows xp.

@manunitedsno1 i have, and chris hoy is a cycling sprinter who is probably the fastest cyclest in the world, mark cavendish is very fast for the tour de france, but its a completely different kind of cycling. still, good to see british talent doing well in some events atleast!!
@ErrorUncertainty Ive been cycling for 17+ years, done the MTB National Points series and I found TLG's comments funny, lighten up!
@cwwcs check out the 2005 and 2008 world champs madison, mark cavendish won with rob hayles (I think?) and bradley wiggins, really good on the track as well!

the slow start is because the guy behind can use his slip stream to 'pull' himself past the leader and win. hense why he doesnt pass and starts really slow. theres one lap when you hear the bell.
