Frisk is a child as old as chara in season 1 to ep 5 of glitchtale. He was a human with the soul of determination. At that time chara existed but was in the void where gaster used to be except people Remember him. For anyone confused about what happened to papyrus in the faster fight, monsters sacrifice their own magic to give life, so when faster got mad, he was slowly taking back his power from papyrus to fight, technically if papyrus died there he would have been even MORE powerful but obviously he didn’t so yea, you should really look into the speedpaint info she did for gaster when he was still in his prime, I think his power is called chroma or chromatism idk

However, this version was nerfed by quite a bit (the full power one is 7 giant hands). Problem is though, no matter how nerfed, the attack usually requires both Sans _and_ Papyrus to be dead, and since Papyrus was still alive, it fed off the poor cinnamon roll's life force without Gaster even realizing it.

Explanation: When Gaster started fighting Betty alone he was using his AND papyrus’ magic, Basically he was stealing Papyrus’ magic to fight Betty, at the end of the battle Gaster had used up 50% of all of Papyrus’ Magic. And since magic is what makes up monsters, the more magic Gaster uses up, the more damage there is to Papyrus’ Soul.

My theory for the end is that Gaster snapped after Sans died, so he went overboard and started draining Papyrus of energy to fuel his attacks. Papyrus pulled Gaster back to reality before he inadvertently killed Papyrus. Gaster successfully killed Betty, but the concept of "Betty" was actually just the corrupted version of the kid used to house Bravery's Curse. The husk is the child herself, and now that that shell is gone, the pure unadulterated curse is unleashed, no longer stuck to the physical form of a small child. Additionally, the whole Gaster disintegrating thing was just an illusion. The curse is powerful enough to fuck with Papyrus on that level in such a casual manner that you the viewer can't tell what's real and what's fear. That's all my personal theory though so grain of salt and all that
Except it's made pretty clear if you watch the series and read what betty says after being killed, that thing is NOTHING to do with the bette noire curse, outside of using what's left of betty as a vessel. It's the hate. Remember? Kumu absorbed it after undyne almost killed betty? If you remember, berry mentioned that the hate had its own goals, and she was having to actively suppress it. Well, like betty said, she was the ONLY thing keeping the hate in check. And now she's gone. That, my friend, is pure, unfiltered, hate. The hate from frisks genocide run, not filtered through chara determination the way it was in season 1. Not suppressed by betty the way it has been up till now. Just pure hate, as powerful as it comes, and having some degree of fear-based abilities as well due to it using the remnants of betty's body as a vessel.

Just to clear things up, Gaster was using too much energy from Papyrus almost killing him. That's why Papyrus told him to stop. Gaster was also dying too as you can tell from the cracks appearing on his soul. It would not only mean Betty's death but also Gaster's and Papyrus'. Betty did die, meaning if she died, the HATE would be unleashed again. Betty's original objective was to just kill the player or Chara. But now that she is dead and HATE is taking her body, it will destroy and kill everything. It's even more dangerous now that it is infused with FEAR. That's why you could see Gaster look like he died. HATE was using FEAR to create a strong illusion and kill Papyrus.

Cami actually notes on tumblr or twitter (don't remember): Papyrus was willing to die if Gaster was able to kill Bete, so he silently tanked through it, but when he felt Gaster's soul crack he wanted him to stop
To put it more simply, Papyrus and Gaster are linked. The more Gaster uses his true magic, the more he consumes Papyrus' soul (since monsters' souls are made of magic). When Sans died, a great portion of his power was returned to Gaster.

Tbh i tought something like this was the case only i tought he was absorbing ambient magic out of the air too or something.. since you saw those white lines coming towards his soul when you saw it crack.. and the lines dissapeared when papy yelled out his name and he came to his senses...only this makes more sense with it coming from papyrus.
This called Polychromatism which allows Gaster to use the seven traits including determination. He need to drain both Papyrus' and Sans' soul power but since Sans is dead, he only need to drain Papyrus' power. Gaster's soul is cracking because his magic is overwhelming.

That's how his hands always worked from the very beginning regardless of his power split between Sans and Papyrus. Polychromatism, on the other hand, is a special move that allows him to summon 7 small hands, 2 giant hands and a Gaster Blaster at the same time. Its essentially a better version of Duality.

At the end battle when Gaster was draining Papyrus power Papyrus didn't stop him because he was running out of power or by the fact that he could die, Papyrus knew very well what was going on and accepted it, he only stopped Gaster because Gaster soul shouldn't be able to take that power if Papyrus is still alive and with Gaster final attack his own soul began to shatter, only and only at that point Papyrus refused to see Gaster damage himself, that's why he made Gaster stop. gaster's chromatic magic can only work when sans *and* papyrus are dead. gaster was using it with papyrus alive, which was draining/breaking both papyrus and gaster's souls. if gaster had kept using his magic, they both would have died
As far as I know, Sans and Papyrus was like a chain that restrict Gaster. Sans was the blue eye. Sans die, blue eye disappear, releasing half of Gaster power. The right eye has red colour, which represent Papyrus. To activate the Polychromatism, Papyrus need to die, so all Gaster's power will be release. Yet, Gaster use it, so it drain Papyrus soul and at the same time put strain on Gaster's soul, and if he didn't stop, it will kill both of them. Note: when he stop, he had two red eye, then one disappeared and strain on his soul was released.

Here's things I found. 1. Gaster killed betty. But it only made it to worst because betty was the one fighting and kept it inside her. Now that it's out nothing (i think) can stop IT. Or its just what betty said. 2. Papyrus had a illusion that gaster died because of something because after chara blocked her in that scene gaster was still on papyrus. That means gaster is not dead! And there's still hope! 3. After sans defeated betty from her blaster steal (bro I'm still triggered betty can steal like wtf) sans asked gaster and papyrus if they were ok because sans did not realise he was melting. 4. Gaster used his special attack (i don't remember it's name ) but it's only supposed to happen when both papyrus and sans dies.but he snapped. And he used papyrus's soul energy to help him use it. Making him hurt him to end betty. That's why he stopped when papyrus said GASTER! because his soul was cracking...
For number 4, I thought the fact that Gaster needed pap to die to use polychromatism with no drawbacks but was pushed over his limits and used it while pap was alive. Due to this gaster wasn't draining magic but since his power needed pap to die, it was killing pap. Or so I thought. Idk

Why did she kill Sans(I knew this would come but...) , showed Alphys, and Jessica and Noah, all of these characters from the past, and when Gaster 'died' I had a heart attack.
This episode was a roller coaster of emotions for me. I was saddened by sans's 2nd death but then was happier when betty was annihilated but then the thing that came out of betty's body scared me ta death, then i was excited for the next episode just to remember that this was just finished and sad but also happy in the end
I think the reason why Papyrus stopped Gaster was because Papyrus is still connected to Gaster and since he’s using (im assuming) his full power he’s draining Papyrus’s magic so if he didn’t stop him they’d both be dead
Gaster was using his 100% powers which are called polychromatism since Papyrus was not dead, Gaster forced himself to use his powers by draining papyrus's souls if he kept using polychromatism, Papyrus would've been dead. Gaster was blinded by hatred and anger. It was satisfying to see that he rip of Betty's body, her scream of dying was music to my ear.
Gaster wouldn't have died. If he kept on using Polychromatism, he would have killed Papyrus, but from then on, he would be so much more powerful, even more powerful than Undyne imo. If he kept on using it, he would have killed Paps, but he would have gained 100% of his power back forever. So he would be pretty hard to kill from then on.

The black monster wasn’t Betty at all, it’s a whole different being. Betty is dead, but the monster is the Black Beast, which is pure hate and fear, she kept it under control because she only wanted to kill monsters, but the black beast would annihilate everyone.

About the papyrus cracking situation, I'd advise doing a little more in depths reading on the glitchtale lore. But to sum up what's happening here (as well as why gaster lost his blue eye when sans died the first time), it's like this: Gaster originally had two purple eyes (as seen in the book rave has). This was before papyrus and sans existed. He had his full power at his disposal, able to summon up to 7 of the large hands, alongside a gaster blaster, though doing so was incredibly taxing for him mentally, so doing so would be a last resort (We see a degree of that in this fight with how tired he is after using 2 large hands, 7 small hands, and a gaster blaster). However, he later created papyrus and sans, giving both some of his power, changing his eyes from purple to blue and red. As a result of doing so however, he was weakened quite drastically, to where 2 large hands and a gaster blaster is the most he can manage. However, should sans or papyrus die, the power he put into them, returns to him, giving him a power boost. However, he also has the ability to manually take that power back, which is what happened here, he snapped, and already had his power back from sans, and started taking his power back from papyrus as well, hence the purple hands and insane power. However, by doing so, he is draining the very magic that keeps papyrus alive, which is why papyrus was in pain and cracking, gaster was killing him to power up.
A bit more information to this. When Gaster has 33% of his power (when both Sans and Papyrus are alive, he can only summon the seven small hands as his most powerful attack,or he can merge them into one large hand, called MONOTONE. When either Sans or Papyrus dies, he gains enough power to use his second Special Attack, DUALITY. This gives Gaster the ability to summon two large hands alongside a giant Gaster Blaster. While doing this, he can't summon MONOTONE or the seven small hands. When both Sans and Papyrus is dead, or as seen in the episode, when either is dead and the other one is being ripped from their powers by Gaster, he can reach his ultimate power which is called POLYCHROMATISM. Now, he can summon the seven small hands, the two large hands and the giant Gaster Blaster at the same time.

Except it's made pretty clear if you watch the series and read what betty says after being killed, that thing is NOTHING to do with the bette noire curse, outside of using what's left of betty as a vessel. It's the hate. Remember? Kumu absorbed it after undyne almost killed betty? If you remember, berry mentioned that the hate had its own goals, and she was having to actively suppress it. Well, like betty said, she was the ONLY thing keeping the hate in check. And now she's gone.
That, my friend, is pure, unfiltered, hate. The hate from frisks genocide run, not filtered through chara determination the way it was in season 1. Not suppressed by betty the way it has been up till now. Just pure hate, as powerful as it comes, and having some degree of fear-based abilities as well due to it using the remnants of betty's body as a vessel.
Nah, the IT Betty's talking about is Hate, which can be easily spotted, as everything around IT changes to black and pink, pink being the leftover fear from Betty that IT is using.
Just to clear things up, Gaster was using too much energy from Papyrus almost killing him. That's why Papyrus told him to stop. Gaster was also dying too as you can tell from the cracks appearing on his soul. It would not only mean Betty's death but also Gaster's and Papyrus'. Betty did die, meaning if she died, the HATE would be unleashed again. Betty's original objective was to just kill the player or Chara. But now that she is dead and HATE is taking her body, it will destroy and kill everything. It's even more dangerous now that it is infused with FEAR. That's why you could see Gaster look like he died. HATE was using FEAR to create a strong illusion and kill Papyrus.

Papyrus was willing to die if Gaster was able to kill Bete, so he silently tanked through it, but when he felt Gaster's soul crack he wanted him to stop
To put it more simply, Papyrus and Gaster are linked. The more Gaster uses his true magic, the more he consumes Papyrus' soul (since monsters' souls are made of magic). When Sans died, a great portion of his power was returned to Gaster.
Ah thanks this explains it! Tbh i tought something like this was the case only i tought he was absorbing ambient magic out of the air too or something.. since you saw those white lines coming towards his soul when you saw it crack.. and the lines dissapeared when papy yelled out his name and he came to his senses...only this makes more sense with it coming from papyrus.
This called Polychromatism which allows Gaster to use the seven traits including determination. He need to drain both Papyrus' and Sans' soul power but since Sans is dead, he only need to drain Papyrus' power. Gaster's soul is cracking because his magic is overwhelming.
@@hus85 Late reply but what you're talking about is Chroma Magic. Chroma Magic is the ability that allows Gaster to mimic the traits of human souls into his hands. That's how his hands always worked from the very beginning regardless of his power split between Sans and Papyrus. Polychromatism, on the other hand, is a special move that allows him to summon 7 small hands, 2 giant hands and a Gaster Blaster at the same time. Its essentially a better version of Duality.

At the end battle when Gaster was draining Papyrus power Papyrus didn't stop him because he was running out of power or by the fact that he could die, Papyrus knew very well what was going on and accepted it, he only stopped Gaster because Gaster soul shouldn't be able to take that power if Papyrus is still alive and with Gaster final attack his own soul began to shatter, only and only at that point Papyrus refused to see Gaster damage himself, that's why he made Gaster stop.

As far as I know, Sans and Papyrus was like a chain that restrict Gaster.
Sans was the blue eye. Sans die, blue eye disappear, releasing half of Gaster power.
The right eye has red colour, which represent Papyrus.
To activate the Polychromatism, Papyrus need to die, so all Gaster's power will be release.
Yet, Gaster use it, so it drain Papyrus soul and at the same time put strain on Gaster's soul, and if he didn't stop, it will kill both of them.
Note: when he stop, he had two red eye, then one disappeared and strain on his soul was released.

Here's things I found.
1. Gaster killed betty. But it only made it to worst because betty was the one fighting and kept it inside her. Now that it's out nothing (i think) can stop IT. Or its just what betty said.
2. Papyrus had a illusion that gaster died because of something because after chara blocked her in that scene gaster was still on papyrus. That means gaster is not dead! And there's still hope!
3. After sans defeated betty from her blaster steal (bro I'm still triggered betty can steal like wtf) sans asked gaster and papyrus if they were ok because sans did not realise he was melting.
4. Gaster used his special attack (i don't remember it's name ) but it's only supposed to happen when both papyrus and sans dies.but he snapped. And he used papyrus's soul energy to help him use it. Making him hurt him to end betty. That's why he stopped when papyrus said GASTER! because his soul was cracking...
For number 4, I thought the fact that Gaster needed pap to die to use polychromatism with no drawbacks but was pushed over his limits and used it while pap was alive. Due to this gaster wasn't draining magic but since his power needed pap to die, it was killing pap. Or so I thought. Idk

This episode was a roller coaster of emotions for me. I was saddened by sans's 2nd death but then was happier when betty was annihilated but then the thing that came out of betty's body scared me ta death, then i was excited for the next episode just to remember that this was just finished and sad but also happy in the end
I think the reason why Papyrus stopped Gaster was because Papyrus is still connected to Gaster and since he’s using (im assuming) his full power he’s draining Papyrus’s magic so if he didn’t stop him they’d both be dead
Gaster was using his 100% powers which are called polychromatism since Papyrus was not dead, Gaster forced himself to use his powers by draining papyrus's souls if he kept using polychromatism, Papyrus would've been dead. Gaster was blinded by hatred and anger. It was satisfying to see that he rip of Betty's body, her scream of dying was music to my ear.
Gaster wouldn't have died. If he kept on using Polychromatism, he would have killed Papyrus, but from then on, he would be so much more powerful, even more powerful than Undyne imo. If he kept on using it, he would have killed Paps, but he would have gained 100% of his power back forever. So he would be pretty hard to kill from then on.

About the papyrus cracking situation, I'd advise doing a little more in depths reading on the glitchtale lore. But to sum up what's happening here (as well as why gaster lost his blue eye when sans died the first time), it's like this:
Gaster originally had two purple eyes (as seen in the book rave has). This was before papyrus and sans existed. He had his full power at his disposal, able to summon up to 7 of the large hands, alongside a gaster blaster, though doing so was incredibly taxing for him mentally, so doing so would be a last resort (We see a degree of that in this fight with how tired he is after using 2 large hands, 7 small hands, and a gaster blaster). However, he later created papyrus and sans, giving both some of his power, changing his eyes from purple to blue and red. As a result of doing so however, he was weakened quite drastically, to where 2 large hands and a gaster blaster is the most he can manage. However, should sans or papyrus die, the power he put into them, returns to him, giving him a power boost. However, he also has the ability to manually take that power back, which is what happened here, he snapped, and already had his power back from sans, and started taking his power back from papyrus as well, hence the purple hands and insane power. However, by doing so, he is draining the very magic that keeps papyrus alive, which is why papyrus was in pain and cracking, gaster was killing him to power up.

A bit more information to this. When Gaster has 33% of his power (when both Sans and Papyrus are alive, he can only summon the seven small hands as his most powerful attack,or he can merge them into one large hand, called MONOTONE. When either Sans or Papyrus dies, he gains enough power to use his second Special Attack, DUALITY. This gives Gaster the ability to summon two large hands alongside a giant Gaster Blaster. While doing this, he can't summon MONOTONE or the seven small hands. When both Sans and Papyrus is dead, or as seen in the episode, when either is dead and the other one is being ripped from their powers by Gaster, he can reach his ultimate power which is called POLYCHROMATISM. Now, he can summon the seven small hands, the two large hands and the giant Gaster Blaster at the same time.

You are more or less correct, but while both Sans and Papyrus are alive, he can only use the 7 small hands. After Sans's death, he gets enough power to use DUALITY and the Gaster Blaster. However, he snapped after he saw Sans die again, and began taking power from Paps, which gave him almost his full power, but in the process started killing both of them, and would eventually kill them, if not for Papy to get Gaster back into normal
