So funny about needing another person to make the tie. If you wrap it over twice instead of once, it won't come undone. If you ever watched Julia Child - she would do it. lol Love your albums!
Nice quick album ! Great to use scrapbook paper to decorate quickly. I like the other embellishments too. Also the binding method was quick and easy. Adding beads to the ribbon would be cute. Thanks for the video.
Just now ran across your channel (and this video) while searching up 6x6 paper bag album tutorials. I think that your work is absolutely gorgeous! When you were trying to tie that ribbon with one hand it reminded me of a tip I learned from Maymaymadeit here on RUclips. She said to take those tweezers that you have to squeeze to open them up. Take them and let them pinch the ribbon for you, and they act like another set of hands. I do that all the time now and it works great!
Thanks that was a great video. It goes really well with your other video a while back with how you lay things out and layer them. Thank you so much for sharing your albums are great and I love seeing your flip thru's keep up the great work.
Awesome tutorial - thanks for sharing - I look forward to more - I absolutely enjoy watching your videos and your bubbly personality :) Happy Crafting!
I can't remember if I sent you a message answering this or not, but I leave them open. That way people can use the openings to hold extra photos or mementos!
Hi Louisa! I saw some on eBay years ago and thought they were really cool, so I decided to give them a try. I think it was kind of meant to be - my grandmother used to tell me that when i was little and visited her house, all I needed to keep me happy was scotch tape, scissors, and paper bags!!! :)
I have used all different weights of bags, but my favorite is the mid range weight. They are the ones labeled "Husky" and I find them at a restaurant supply store.
Sorry for the delayed response! I get the bags from a restaurant supply store - I can get them in bulk as well as in a heavier weight than you would find at the grocery store.
ty!!! this is fab. so you take them to shows and sell them. id love to buy one of your albums. theyre fab. can u message me (when you get time) of how i can get one. id love a victorian era one. (or similar xxx) love your work. ty for your inspiration
The1952trouble I usually do not put anything in the opening, but I always tell people when they purchase them that the opening is perfect for keeping mementos.
Using 3 bags gives you 10 pages not including the front and back cover. I notice in your video some of your albums have more pages than others, but you said you generally only use 3 bags. How do you add the extra pages if you have more than the 3 bags allow you room for? Thank you for sharing your tips and beautiful albums!! 💖💖💖
i have some big bags, folded like a book they r 12 long up and down by 8/12 wide across, do u use that size? and how many of those would u put together for 1 album?
I have never used that size, but I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work! I would use 3 bags - that is what I do for all my albums. I have made a few albums with 4 bags, which works just fine, but 3 is my standard.
Honestly, I just don't trust tape runners to hold up over time. I've had pages peel off albums I made years ago using tape runners - the "glue" seems to dry up and lose its stick. Since I sell my albums, I want to make sure that the adhesive isn't going anywhere!

Thank you so much! And what a great idea with the tweezers - I never would have thought of that. I'll have to give it a try!
Thanks that was a great video. It goes really well with your other video a while back with how you lay things out and layer them. Thank you so much for sharing your albums are great and I love seeing your flip thru's keep up the great work.

I love your work Julie. All your albums are so cute. Thanks for sharing how you put your albums together.
I use the hemp string. It's very strong and durable. I love your paper bag album.

the little flaps on the bags do you glue them down. I don't think I saw you do that. I could have missed it lol. oh and you are awesome.
I love your albums, Julie! Quick question: Do you leave the end of the bag open or do you seal it closed? Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
I can't remember if I sent you a message answering this or not, but I leave them open. That way people can use the openings to hold extra photos or mementos!
watching this again!! I love your way of doing things!!! out of all the different types of .albums etc, what made you choose paper bags as your base?

I love these cute albums. Did you use Heavy Duty bags or Extra Heavy Duty bags? Thank you so much for sharing, great tutorial.
I have used all different weights of bags, but my favorite is the mid range weight. They are the ones labeled "Husky" and I find them at a restaurant supply store.
I love these, thank you for your tutorial!! Where do you get the bags from?

Thank you! I will get back to you on this, but right now I am prepping for a show and that's keeping me pretty busy!!!
oh yes, totally understand that. so no hurry :D
Just asking...do you construct your pages separately before adding to album?
I do! Adhering the pages into the album is the last thing I do.
Do you put tags in the paper bag opening? Watched your videos, live them.
The1952trouble I usually do not put anything in the opening, but I always tell people when they purchase them that the opening is perfect for keeping mementos.
I think I can do this thanks
THIS WAS VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU! ONE QUESTION DO YOU GLUE THE OPEN END OF THE BAG CLOSED? i NOTICE YOU NEVER USE THEM AS POCKETS.
+Melanie Willey I keep them open so that the recipient of the album can use them to store extra photos, memorabilia, or whatever they like

I just use more bags! The most I have ever used is 5 bags, which gave me 18 pages plus the covers.
"Wrinklier"?
More wrinkled?

thepaperbaglady1 ok thank u so much.
aawwww look at u doing a tut vid ☺️ very nice very nice!!! how many times have U poked urself with that needle? roflmfao!!!
NOT ONCE! NO POKING! NO BLOODSHED!
Why do you use fabric glue instead of the others . I would not think of using that kind adhesive. You said because it dries faster. By they thank you
