Thanks for the time to make this video. The years of development really show in a quality product. I am glad to see many improvements over IL-2 Sturmovik 1946: Too many to list but I mention that I love the smoke effects. How can you render all those buildings? Wow! Good work!
I have been waiting for this for so long, i am really looking forward to the all the new features and graphics. Thanks again Oleg Maddox you and your team have done it again.
@krz9000 I think most of the aircraft sounds were placeholders for their real sounds. Listen to the engine while sitting in the Spitfire during the last 20 or so seconds. Not too shabby - especially when compared to the generated engine sounds in the beginning of the video. This looks great, even with the reduced lighting effects. Imagine the Stuka's lighting FX (from other video Oleg posted today) applied to this video? Beautiful work, Oleg and crew.
@Sweler1 На данном этапе трава и вообще вся земля кроме моря выглядит выглядит немного мультяшно, но это пока. А вообще даже сейчас это уже проект на голову выше всех существующих авиасимов. Ждём релиза. Разработчикам респект.
Stunning! Love the evening lighting at 1:20. Even the wind mill is turning! I hope there are better views where the camera doesn't appear to be attached to the plane with a long rod. It'd be nice if the camera lagged a bit even if it means the 'subject' plane moves partially out of the frame at the beginning of hard maneuvers.
Amazingly detailed but I am wondering how large of a German bomber force (number of aircraft) can be featured in this in single player mode with current high end systems (Core i7 systems)? Is there a significant limitation in this or is this combat flight simulator designed for more advanced future hardware with less limitations (and more aircraft Player and A.I. inclusive)? It will probably be awesome in multiplayer mode. I am just asking thank you very much.
Hmmm, video looks very impressive. Land and Sea detail is excellent. The paintschemes on the aircraft look almost like 'Plastic' though, no roughness or weathering, but I'm sure the skinners will soon sort that out! My main issue is the sound.....it sounds like IL2 from 10-years-ago. Maybe they are just place-holder sounds, but after so-long in development I hope that the engines sound like they do actually have some power rather than buzzing flies? (I'll still buy it though ;) ) Cheers, MP
impressive, but i doubt it will run smooth on my system, i have problems with rise of flight and can run it only on medium settings and this seems to have way more details than rise of flight.
@CelestinProphet I think the dark comedy of sarcasm is lost on the internet! I know how long it takes to develop sims, Ive been developing an airport for X-Plane for just over 2 years and its no where near finished.
@744captain I'm A Airline Pilot (Captain ) I also was Pilot in the USAF and I have flown some WW ll Fighters Spit IX, P-40 and others. And I love to fly IL2 it's not jerky for me I fly it a lot too much, And I have about 22,000 hrs and flew the 747 form 95 till 2004 when I flew the last one we had to the bone yard ,if IL2 is Jerky , you may need a new Computer. :)
Come on oleg. Hurry up and finish it, Its getting close to being the record for the longest developed game (Except Duke Nukem : Forever, obviously) I wanna play it so bad. But shall need to buy a NASA supercomputer first.......
@pedal2th3metal Lies. It`s not running well only on SLI/Crossfire machines.Other than that even medium range hardware can run it smoothly on medium setting (which is still much better than any sim so far released).
@744captain ... cont ... Not able to for reasons, like illness or a phobia of heights. Or plain just don't want to. Its probably the best we can do. Whilst me, myself, Would love to learn how to fly in real life, I'm not old enough to seriously think about it, and just don't have the money if I did. Computers will evolve, and so will sound engines, graphics, physics engines for flight models and so will the overall flight experience. These guys have to make many planes, enviroments etc etc
But the sound of aircraft engines English, it would seem much more similar to that of German aircraft, which today are found in IL2 Sturmovik 1946. In my humble opinion, these sounds should be made to change, the more reason to make more realistic Sim.
everything looks great but i hope they update the soundengine and the camera systems...i cant stand to see these strict attached cameras anymore. pls add a random wiggle and loose momentum to it
Wasn't it to be out by Nov ? atleast beta ? ...i hope atleast there will be more online players in one server shooting A.I. planes gets boring after a while
@744captain Wow, Calm down. Computers arn't yet as powerful enough to simulate proper flight dynamics due to proccessing power. I belive the sound is IL-2 Placeholder. Whilst the IL-2 series and hopefully, this series, are the most realistic form of WW2 style flight simulators out there. They will still fall short of the real thing by a land slide. But its the closest us normal people, who cannot fly real aircraft yet. Either from money issues (can't afford to learn), age (not old enough) ...
wooooow i thought the grapics on forgotten battles were good - this makes it look like someone rubbed dog poo on my screen!!!! hope the gameplay's as realistic
@744captain .. cont #2 .. And since they cannot spend all their time on flight mechanics or just realism within the cockpit. They cannot get the full potential out of it. See a series called DCS, making a game called DCS: A-10C Warthog, it is a whole game spent on 1 plane getting is as real as possible. That realistic flight model, weaponary and everything menas little content (1 flyable plane) ... so, Game Desingers have to make that choice. Which is why its not so realistic as you would like.
you guys dont understand me right? again ... IL2 sturmovik with HSFX or ZUTI is the most realistic WW2 no matter if have ever sittn in a WW2 plane or not .. there is just no game out there yet with that ammount of flyable aircrafts and physics ... but ok if you guys wanna beleive something else go ahead ...
@Mastercluster Oh and by the way. Have you flown any real WW2 aircraft? I have. IIL is jerky...and my comments stand. The only thing I see so far from this future simulation is better graphics. Other than that it appears to be the same crummy sound, poor flight model and unrealistic interior experience. But--I hope I am wrong.
Im going to have a HARD time without my old FW 190 :(. can you guys at Madoxx make an exeption and give me a code or something for (just me XD) me to fly the FW? LOL
@744captain That's kinda funny for a real 747 Driver to say Because 90% of the time the Computer fly's the 747 and the Pilot fly's the Computer ..mmmm makes me Wonder... :)
@wilfredotour2 It's out now, but runs like poo. Even monster PC's strugle to churn out even 20 fps at the moment. I'd wait a little while longer before buying mate :)
Thanks for the time to make this video.

Need more vids! Something to watch while we wait!
Looking sharp and crisp..

Fantastic!!!!! A new milestone.... 5 thumbs up
Как всегда, шииикарно!
Looking forward to getting this on my PC :-)
@sobus24 really?
has the epilepsy filter ben sorted out?
If it is NOW running well, I will pick it up.
amazing work!
@pedal2th3metal
the epilepsy thing got sorted back in April ; since May the game runs smooth but needs lot of VRAM. 2GB of it is recommended.

I am just asking thank you very much.
simply great
@divez2
I sure hope you're right. Hell I hope I'll actually see the game.
Amazing!!
when is it coming out? My Six Cores can't wait!!!!

@SukhoiSu47 exactly...well said.
@sobus24 sorted then, thanks for the heads up.
i've got 8GB of RAM, so should be ok. :)
Holy cow.. that isvery good
Please release the game already!!!!!!.Looks awesome!!!!
@divez2
Still, just pointing out. It's already end of 2010, way past the promised November release and the game still looks like this.
But how much VRAM do you have?
@CelestinProphet I think the dark comedy of sarcasm is lost on the internet! I know how long it takes to develop sims, Ive been developing an airport for X-Plane for just over 2 years and its no where near finished.
Ouystanding !!!
@Iamyurdaddy
yes but not in 'raw' version. you need mods
@jtmedina75 I'm looking forward to this release.
So you fly real spitfires and 109s do you?
@744captain I'm A Airline Pilot (Captain ) I also was Pilot in the USAF and I have flown some WW ll Fighters Spit IX, P-40 and others. Can I have it by Christmas? PLEASE! The Stuka Lighting vid is just freaking amazing!
Ah oh well, I found an amazingly fast gaming computer for an amazingly cheap price, so I'd definately by this!
@HelluvaBadShot It have been possible since the beginning of IL-2, so I don't se why it shouldn't be possible in BoB.
Sorry but what is IIL?
@IIJG27Rich
Ah, ok Rich, Thanks for the information I can not wait to board my new Bf109
;)
Come on oleg. Hurry up and finish it, Its getting close to being the record for the longest developed game (Except Duke Nukem : Forever, obviously)

See the mouse cursor at 1:55 fail trailer for that. xD
@pedal2th3metal

I read on play dot com (I think) that it will come out on 25th February 2011
Wasn't it to be out by Nov ? atleast beta ? ...i hope atleast there will be more online players in one server shooting A.I. planes gets boring after a while
Wow, anyone else find themselves turning their head into the turn?
Some soviet planes?
@malerai Чего тут шикарного, не ужели не видишь трава ядовита зелёная. Вообще земля отвротительная и трассы как в иле. Кокпит да хорош, и вода.
OMG. Oleg you owe me a new pair of pants you dirty old man.

@wilhelmspw
I think you should:
1. Learn more history
2. To be not crap yourself that to look the differences.

Even monster PC's strugle to churn out even 20 fps at the moment. I'd wait a little while longer before buying mate :)
@CelestinProphet What you mean launch?! This game will never come out... lol What is it?! 5 years since announced?
lol, cursor at 1:41
@jtmedina75 and I'm one of them.
IA fly bad like Il2... using allways full pedal-rudder to one side... PUAGG XD Oleg... go to street.
@bongolongo89 haha NO
Graphics are pretty meh. They look like they are from IL 2.... The graphics looked better in previous videos so hopefully they look better at launch.
lol. Sounds? This is still in development. Video is smooth when I look at it, no jerky movements. Get a better PC, you silly rabbit
Is it just me, or do the effects look rather disappointing? The graphics look amazing, but the sounds and effects are somewhat even inferior to IL-2.
The engine sounds appear to be just as crappy as ILL2. Also, the aircraft seem to be as jerky as ILL2.
@Mastercluster Ahh dude...I fly REAL aircraft. I am a 747-400 Captain you pinhead. Do you have 20,000 hours?
Great visuals, but sounds sucks
Amazing!
