This game is so freaking detailed. It looks and feels so awesome...still I prefer IL2 1946...mainly for the custom battles and the huge amount of aircraft to choose from. A remake of 1946 with these graphics would be awesome.
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946: Forgotten Battles is currently the best combat flight simulator there is. But this newer version, Cliffs of Dover, still have a lot to be worked out. Require a extremely powerful PC despite the graphics are not that good, and got only 25 flyable airplanes so far.
Just brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed this, loved it! I have a friend who flew Sunderlands and I will definitely be sending him this one. Thank you for great work.
You "can" run with either but a joystick or flight stick is highly recommended as it allows supreme control compared to the latter and im fairly certain you can run a three screen display
Clod has just had a patch update and has improved performance massively. The sequel is currently being made and I have every bit of faith that this time we will see a sim worthy of replacing IL2. For now though, IL2 still, after over ten years is holding strong. I really mean this, it will get better.........
Since this is an official trailer and they show the name of the composer, you would assume that the music has been written specifically for the trailer/game.
This is actually the best sim ever done in term of graphic quality! I also tried DCS and Great Battles but they are far away from Cliffs of Dover. I'm very exciting for the Tobruq module with the chance to fly the best Macchi 202 Folgore over Sea and Desert. Hope Team Fusion evaluate also Sicily and Malta map.

Exceedingly well made details in camuflage as well as armament in all planes!!!!..., nevertheless all these planes were not used in this theatre of operations at the same years nor did the Italian planes!!!!!.......Congratulations various types of aircraft in a sole thriller!!!!!... Ah would have loved to watch the bits and pieces of enemy planes simply distort when the air around the aircraft wringles it off like you see on those old guncam films. Nice though! Very nice! :)
This games was pushed out the door unfinished so its still in beta stage we need to start hearing good things about this game again. Praying for the best dont give up making it better.

1C Company, The trailer is fantastic! This surpasses the IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 combat flight simulations by leaps and bounds! Cliffs of Dover is certain to be a global hit. I have posted a link to this at the website of which I am an Administrator. ( Name not posted here in respect to you. ) The tracers are much better than previous IL-2 and thank you for the quality of the whole simulation.
@Bra23we12 I'm going to wait longer than that. First, to let Ubisoft expand the series, just as IL 2 expanded to the '46 version. Also, many mods will be done by then & the bugs worked out. And, as you said, what was once super-computer territory becomes everyday average desktop. I'm still not the slightest bit bored with my IL 2 Sturmovik 1946 game, all being played smoothly on my lowly eMachines desk top. Look forward to the future though.

What gets me is during the slowdown you can see the prop blades. Is the prop pitch actually visually modeled? It reminds me of when I first saw the opening film in Il-2, when I realized that the wheels kept on spinning after the planes had left the ground. Was that a Beaufighter I saw?

A question Oleg, in this video you can see a wing ripping off the Spitfire, is it possible that the broken off parts of aircraft can hit your own plane and damage it?

Ну а для тех кто хочет наполнить жизню всю землю и города - вперез за редактор встроенный в игру (так же как было в Ил-2, но только более продвинутый). Вы бы понимали о чем разговор хотя бы когда рассуждаете о домиках. Все сделано оптимально.

All modern games automatically recognise your joystick or controller why is Cliff of Dover different? Simple programming bug or just laziness?

This is probably one of the most confusing releases ever. I also read that Il2 1946 took ages to receive updates through steam and I’m also scared that future mods will be impossible with steam. Enlighten me; I need to know which one to buy :).

Il-2 is the name of the series of flight sims that has been the cutting edge in WWII combat flight sims since 2001. The very first release was focused on the Il-2 Sturmovik ground attack plane and over time had more and more planes added to it, culminating in Il-2 1946 with more than 300 flyable aircraft. Cliffs of Dover was the most recent release in the Il-2 series, and focused on the Battle of Britain. Previous releases have covered every theater of air war during WWII from the Eastern Front and the Pacific to North Africa and the Mediterranean. The next release returns to the Eastern Front in 1942.
So it's a combat sim and I get there is artistic license, but I doubt any Russian warplanes involved with the Battle of Britain. Also remember the Sturmovik is a ground attack plane, The BoB was a fighter vs fighter and bomber war. NO ground attack aircraft were used
OH dear, a lot of complaints about no SLI due to epilepsy filters. More complaints about performance, yet somehow when they run the game it runs perfectly on there systems which are probably no better then what people have now...
I ve got Win7 64-bit, ATI 5770 1GB, 4 GB RAM, 1TB Hard Disc and phenom2 925 x4 on 2,8 GHz and I cant play this even on the lowest graph settings :(. Tried it couple of months ago, dnt know if there were any graphical debug patches. Anyone have the same problems ?

Seems you tend to compare it to IL-2 Sturmovik. 25 planes is a respectable number for a flight sim. In flight sims PC power is not only needed for grafics, its also needed for AI calculation. And grafics are awsome, BTW. It has its flaws, but most issues were solved with the latest patch and development goes on inofficially by mod creators.
I loved watching this when I was little. Seeing it now brings back old memories. Very good ones.

Yes it takes a powerful pc to play it, if you want to play games like this, you will need an i5 and a 7850 or gtx 56 ti graphics card.

The Gladiators were considerd a match for the Cr 42, but no Glad's were used in combat in the battle of Britain, Other than that, great video!

Seems you tend to compare it to IL-2 Sturmovik. 25 planes is a respectable number for a flight sim. In flight sims PC power is not only needed for grafics, its also needed for AI calculation. And grafics are awsome, BTW. It has its flaws, but most issues were solved with the latest patch and development goes on inofficially by mod creators.
