I’ve been wanting to try these products. My hair is similar to yours especially when it’s your length (mine is a little longer now) but your hair turned out amazing. I think you convinced me to get them!
Alexa’s Curls the define curl crime is pretty good. I don’t use it all the time(also trying to stay away from sulfates, para end, etc.) but I def recommend it
I have type 3 hair, when I brush it wet I lose definition to it becomes straight/wavy. Scrunching makes the difference! But I agree she looks like a type 3
Thank you for this video! I’ve had curly hair my whole life, but I’ve always straightened it. Now, I’m finally embracing the curls God gave me. I was wondering if you would tell me what type of brush you were using in the video. Thank you so much! 🙏🏼
I use the Denmen, 7 row for my 2C/3A curls. More rows give you slimmer chunks and more defined curls, imo. You can take out rows if you want. I watched a video with curls similar to mine with a 9 row and a 4 row (she removed every other row). The 9 row gave thinner, but well defined curls. The 4 row gave bigger, juicier curls, but not well defined, much messier, and more frizz. I bought the 7 row as that was recommended on the Denman site for my type hair. I’m still learning and experimenting, but am happy with the 7 row. Good compromise and you can still take out rows to try it.
I'm doing same! Getting older life getting more expensive so in order to cut costs and highlighting/bleaching/toning my own hair and now embracing my curls!
I disagree. Silicones, sulphates, parabens are not bad for your hair. I did the curly girl method for over a year. I just recently gave up. It caused so much breakage and damage to my hair, it was healthier when I straightened daily. Every emoilients, even natural organic ones build up on your hair. Not using a sulphate shampoo, even just occasionally WILL lead to build up and damage. And silicones are in products for a reason, THEY WORK
I’ve noticed the same. I’ve been doing the curly girl method as well and I feel like my hair has gotten worse! My curl pattern was way better before I started the method. I’m unsure of what to do now
Apparently silicone is okay in conditioners and leave-in stuff, as long as it's not in the shampoo. That's just what I heard from a dermatologist, not my opinion :)
@shrutip9755 are you sure bc I recently got the shampoo and conditioner and on the conditioner ingredients it says that it contains demithcone, amodimeticone and some other ingredients that I'm sure ate silicones.
Nice Curls. Only been using the dream curl product since end of June. John Frieda is another brand added to my list. Two years of massive trial and error and their are three names that work for my hair.
Ur curls r super cute 😍. Just started using John Frieda and I must say its worth the money spent. Just need to figure out which ones really suits a humid tropical island like Singapore🤔
Hi olive!! So lovely video, thank you!! 😊 I'm going to try now the John fridea linea for curls. Do you have some tips for damage hair? I'm stil transitioning for my natural hair, but my ends still having some damage. Sending good vibes 😊
Can you do one with all Cantu products because I'm young and I have not much money and I'm living in Austria in Vienna and I can only find Cantu so can you please make a video with Cantu products pleaseee💕
Bri Z. Yes! The coconut & hibiscus styling products, for instance, are not great for wavier hair. Some of the newer lines, though (like Manuka Honey & Yogurt), are more geared towards wavies & finer hair.
Hey babe could you please recommend good sulphate free shampoos? There’s so many out there and I just don’t know which one to choose 😭 my hair is similar to yours and so many brands have shampoos but it’s so difficult to find the right one xx thank you
Love your hair and cut! 😍I switch products and been cg for 3 years, very healthy hair so i want to try this range. After i used these products do i have to do a final wash or so before using shea moisture products again? my water is very hard so i use a chelating wash once in the 3 months. I use that serum on dry hair to scrunch out the cast from the Ecoslay Marmalade gel
I never tried mousse and gel together, so I will try ✌️ mousse makes my hair always dry but yeah I will try it this way. Thaaannksss, you are so beautiful
i was using cocunut and it made my hair so dry and frizzy (worked at first but not good longterm) i saw other hings and they said jhon frieda wasnt good but its the only one in tesco (uk) gonna try it out and ill let u guys know my opinion! edit: just bought it!(gonna try it tomorrow!!!!)
Hello i dont understand why you put a lot of product in your hairs.why do you put Somme mousse and creme and oil it s ok you cant stop here but you put gel it s so much .i read a video john frieda products and he says put on yours hairs gel or mousse or creme
@@AllThingsOlivex it's the same ingredient used in relaxers / chemical hair straighteners, to break down the bonds of the hair. Some info : Known as “alkaline perms”. Often found in relaxers and texturizers. Highly caustic. Denatures hair and can dissolve it. In smaller concentrations, it's used as a pH adjuster. In higher concentrations, such as in relaxers, it can cause severe burns on skin. Begoun pg 155. Of the same pH found in oven cleaners, drain cleaners and hair removers [Begoun (Hair) page 155]. If you've ever relaxed your hair without gloves (hopefully not), and noticed your hands felt really slippery but it wouldn't wash off, here's why: "The reason sodium hydroxide feels slimy is because it is chemically reacting with the fatty acid esters and oils naturally found in your skin. Essentially, you’re turning bits of your skin into soap. (The reaction is called saponification). And as you know, soap is slippery.” Per Winter [(7th edition) page 475-476], sodium hydroxide is used to keep ingredients that normally would separate together, as well as to make a product more alkaline. Winter also says the FDA banned using more than 10 percent of it in household liquid drain cleaners (so you know it has to be strong if more than 10 percent is to strong for a drain cleaner --T).

i also feel the cutly girl method doesn't work. ever since i switched to it, my hair hasn't even grown much 😭.
That's why you are supossed to clarify your hair!! (With a sulphate shampoo) every couple washes. Just not use it as your main shampoo everyday
agreed ,my hair looks much better since ive started using silicones again
Really excited to try these products now!
Apparently silicone is okay in conditioners and leave-in stuff, as long as it's not in the shampoo. That's just what I heard from a dermatologist, not my opinion :)
u just gotta use a clarifying cleanser to get the build up out (mix of bentonite and kaolin clay works well) every few weeks, unless u use sulfates
they changed the formula recently so all of the dream curls range from JOhn Frieda is silicon free!

You are so beautiful. Great review, i just bought the mousse and wanted to know if its any good. Hopefully its good for braids as well. All the best
Quick question, did you notice any flaking with the mousse? I've noticed flakes with other cheaper mousses I've tried

Shea Moisture is so heavy. If you have curly curly hair it works but if your hair is closer to wavy type of hair it may be too heavy.
If you try the style milk it shouldn’t be too bad

Sodium hydroxide is a curly girl approved ingredient, may I ask why this is a concern for you? :)
