Passed Linux Essentials,Linux Security Essentials, LPIC-1 101-500 and 102-500. For the essential exam the certification is for the lifetime.

I watch you when you were studying for your network+ & I was too. Then security+ after. It’s sick seeing how both of our careers kinda started out similar & we’re lowkey debating the same things based off of what our company needs & our personal careers. Good luck to ya brotha!!

RHCSA by far if you are going to be a linux admin. Red Hat is the industry standard Linux distro. Never seen an enterprise run a linux OS that was not Red Hat. But if you are coming from little to no knowledge of linux, then linux+ is a good start. Cant speak on LPIC.

What if the job you work at is all a Ubuntu server environment? Will most of it translate? They cut costs and only have like 5 RHEL licenses now and only use Ubuntu.

@@brandhark7935 ubuntu would be good for linux+ however if you still want to go after Red Hat, from my understanding CentOS is the closest open source version you can find for Red Hat. Of course do your own research. Im a Cisco Network guy by trade. But most work environments I have been in are a mix of windows server and Red Hat for server OS's.

@@brandhark7935still transferable, package management and some command line differences but for the most part you can easily get adjusted to an Ubuntu server environment if you passed the RHCSA.

@@brandhark7935 Yes, linux at the very core is the same across all distros

I’m a Data Center Engineer that’s trying to break into Cybersecurity with RedHat & Centos knowledge. Learning Linux is the obvious next step for me. But I’m not sure which cert to invest my time and money in. Please send help lol
