      Correct foreshadowing is used when new details create new context for old information... RWBY likes to use obscure tiny details, turn them into callbacks, and call it foreshadowing. Some in this video are actually pretty good, but it doesn't hold up since they don't really plan to make many of the details actually meaningful when they're revealed.

    • @RandomGirl119
      @RandomGirl119 3 года назад +1

      @@XerKoro_neo True. Though, one thing I like that Miles and Kerry do is that they have, for years now, made an effort to try to establish a character's existence before that character is relevant. As far as I can tell, they have done that for pretty much every major character except for Whitley, Tyrian, and Hazel. Even Watts' existence had been foreshadowed, by his W emblem appearing on Cinder's Scroll in, I believe, Volume 3 Episode 3, when she used the virus program to set up Coco & Yatsu vs Emerald & Mercury.

      @@nathanielreik6617 That’s actually true if you really think about it. Remember when it was a throwback to Maria one of the bandits said that their employer wanted her dead because of her eyes. Silver eyes only works on the Grimm and Salem is the Grimm’s master so it must’ve been used against her before which is why she started hunting them. It’s possible that Summer figure it out as well. However, I don’t think Oz was referring to the eyes when he made that statement. When he was talking to Oscar he told him that her strength is to inspire others and Jaune told Ruby that she gave them the courage to follow her.

      Yeah, he's one of the best and most consistently written characters in the show. When they introduced him in Volume 2, they set him up in a way where we would see and understand exactly what he's about, exactly what kinda character he is, and they made it make sense that he has gone down this path.
      - He brought a military fleet to the kingdom where they were about to hold a festival that celebrates _peace_ and _unity_ between kingdoms, which Ozpin pointed out was an awkward move. He did it just because Qrow's message worried him. Torchwick used the panel in one of the ships to have the virus turn Ironwood's robots against everyone. He made an aggressive move out of worry and fear, and it gave the villains tools to use in the attack on Vale. Similarly, his plan to abandon Mantle and run away with the Relics will cause more division, so he may very well be playing into Salem's hands.
      - "Do you honestly think your children can win a war?" He was already in the war mindset even in Volume 2, thinking only of how to operate in wartime.
      - When Ruby told them the White Fang were gathering in the southeast, Ironwood wanted to immediately send troops to take them out, while Ozpin wanted to scout it out first just in case there was a trap. This scene also displayed the difference in how Ironwood and Ozpin handle things.
      - Ironwood outright told Glynda he was having trouble _trusting_ Ozpin and he felt like he was being kept in the dark about something, which unnerved him. I'm confident enough to say this small scene that they felt the need to include is blatant foreshadowing of Volume 7.
      - At the end of Volume 2, the Vale Council tells Ozpin that they spoke with the Atlas Council and that it was decided that Ironwood would be placed in charge of security for the duration of the festival. This is all fine and good, until we later learn that Ironwood holds two seats on the Atlas Council and that the other council members had a habit of just going with what Ironwood said, up until Volume 7. This means that Ironwood himself was likely the one who decided he'd be in charge of security. If so, then even back then, if he didn't get his way or he felt like someone wasn't doing a good job leading, he forcibly took control.

    there's actually a fun side theory... if you watch closely in season 8 you will see Salem spinning four dark ghostly girls in her hands before she talks to Oscar/Ozpin. Also, the four maidens match with one of the 4 seasons, which match the colors of their daughters. And Salem has chosen Cinder, who could be in a way her daughter, to be the vessel of all four. Salem misses her daughters, and wishes her daughters by her side. I believe the four maidens were created with some sort of life essence to bring the daughters back to life in memory by putting their Magical Auras (hence why maidens have magic) into four chosen vessels. Salem may try to destroy the world, but I think she wants all of her family to die and move to the afterlife together, and she will do anything to get what she wants.

    To create a show you have to create an entire outline and some parts of scenes in sketchs so Monty pretty much planned out this entire show.
