Definitely a gold mine for information for eg a/c installs!! I noticed from your other vids that your bay area as well hopefully we can link up one time hehe. More power to your channel bro!
Wow i remember doing this like 10 years ago when i had my 97 EK.i just wish current model cars were these easy to change the evaporator. Today’s CRVs needs the whole dash to come out just to change the evaporator if you don’t want any cutting done to the dash 😩
@sprinterpilot yeahhh i know what you mean!👍 idk if it was Hondas brilliant engineering or if they were just too lazy to change things either way thooo its better for us!!!😅
Great video! I added most of your videos to my "EG MODS/HACKS" RUclips Playlist. Your videos are simple, easy to follow and entertaining. Keep up the good work. Also from SoCal
Thanks bro I’ve replaced compressor, drier, and condenser and had the system recharged however I’ve yet to replace the evaporator. System blows cold but I know it could perform better if I just complete these last pieces of the puzzle. Knowing this now gives me peace of mind! 🤙🏻😎
Awesome video. To be clear oil is not needed in the evaporator. However they make assumptions on how much oil each part should have in it therefore how much is lost when you replace a part, and instead of measuring how much you drain, just replace with the thumb rule amount. I just want a cabin air filter, no ac. Do I need to keep the evaporator installed for the cabin air filter not to be loose, or will the plastic cage keep it all rigid if I get a box from the junkyard and just remove the evaporator?
@johnsmithnonya46 Thanks!! 🤙 And the plastic box has a slot for the cabin air filter soo it should stay in place even if you dont want the evaporator.👍
For removing the evaporator box i unplugged all the connectors and clips. If your doing this its best to unplug it so its not in your way. Also don’t forget the A/C drain hose is connected to the box i pulled on it and lost the rubber grommet that goes into the fire wall. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
I'm trying to install A/C in my 1992 hatch. It came from the factory without A/C. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out which A/C harness to buy that's in the engine bay that's connects to the relays, fan motor etc... I would love to see that in a video
@dennistavares4494 Im pretty sure this is another one of those a car specific parts that can only be found in 92-95 Civic models. I believe its called “ AC front support harness” or “ac front compressor/condenser subharness” something like that… theyre like $50 at junkyards, probably ~$80 on ebay. Try Rockauto.com they might have it cheaper👍
for the A/C evaporator did you use the 1994 civic temperature evaporator sensor or did you use a Temperature Sensor from a CRV 2008-2011 since you swapped the whole evaporator
That isnt a expansion valve its a txv..for the civics.the orginal evap core will last forever what makes em.stop working is all the trash that ends on top of it you clean it good, install fresh txv and itll work just fine
Can you please see if we can do it for the ef they don’t sell ac tuck ki.t. You think it’s possible to put 92-2000 evaporator in a 88-91 civic? Just for ac tucked kit? Please be the first to find out
@S_up Im not too sure about that…i just looked at the pictures for an ‘89 civic evaporator and its much smaller than the 92-00 civics soo i dont think youll have the room for a bigger evaporator..also i dont know how its mounted or if its the same way as the 92-00 civics either but if you have space under the dash you might be able to swap the evap & the blower but from the looks of it the evaporator itself from a 92-00 civic wont fit
Looking at the blower looks the same mounting points look the same every thing you have going on looks like it will mount in. Only reason is I want ac tuck kit and they don’t make it for the ef imma change the compressor imma do a swap.
ruclips.net/video/8TN2nFXn8JA/видео.htmlsi=cQf8mju67OtsTuJy Looks when he take out the evaporator kinda looks like the same blower I don’t matter without the filter for me
@S_up Gotcha!! Yeah Tuck kits can be tricky especially for something like that where it isnt made for that model. I wasnt sure if it would fit on mine but after searching some forums and saw it was possible, i headed to the junkyard to see if it was ACTUALLY true. Id recommend doing that
@projectgoodspeed i only say it.because i cant find one for the 92 95 civic..and i noticed the 99 civic has the same 3 pin connector.. but i guess i go to junkyard and find out.
@b18turbo24 yeahh i just checked my civic and it does have the 3 pin connector. I think i remember swapping out connectors just because of the wire length, i think they might be interchangeable thoo other than the wire length👍
Just got a 94 civic evap housing that I am going to install into my non a/c civic. How many bolts were there to mount the housing inside? And if you have the part number as well, thanks
@LawMasterTimmy You know i cant quite remember exactly how many there are but if remember correctly its something like 4-5 bolts. As for the part numbers for The housings i tried i dont know since they weee junkyard parts, sorry…. i think i showed a quick clip of me pulling two from different models and there was a number on there. they both fit but it seemed they were designed for specifically shaped evaporators… just try to match yours with one of those in the clip and see if you need a square evaporator or a rounder one..
@@projectgoodspeed thanks, pretty sure it's 4. I meant part numbers for the bolts as the oem part websites aren't very clear, looked like all 4 were bolts and not screws
@@projectgoodspeed thank you i was just wondering because my eg was missing a bunch a of body parts and interior lol but keep up with the video’s because they help me just like with the heater core video. i had no idea what i was doing until i watched your video👍
@NightmareNarratives333 Yeah soo as i understand it the A/C system was simple enough to install in any of these models, whether it came like that from factory or not. Just keep in mind since yours is a ‘93 youll be limited to using parts from a 92-93 model civic because of the different refrigerant used. (Not a good idea to mix refrigerant) Although if you never had AC you could just do a complete R134a swap with 94+ civic parts..Mines a 95 so i used 94-95 civic stuff…
basically i have an eg sedan with eg vti evaporator and ek lines, condensator, dryer & compressor. What should i do get eg lines that maybe wont fit te condensator? or just get an ek evaporator and be done?
@danielhiemstra3834 If you have ek lines AND they fit inside the eg engine bay. THEN an ek evaporator would work👍 BUT if the lines dont match up inside the engine bay id say getting eg lines would require getting everything else from the eg aswell cause those lines wont fit the other parts either…. (If only tried using an ek evaporator on a full eg system sooo just so you know im not an expert😅)

You make the best videos bro I’m building my EG right now I really enjoy the videos, keep them coming!!
I also want to do a ac instal but didn't knew where to start so, many thanks for the vid
The vid is also really great quality!
Love the EG's keep on making videos about it
@marwellmercado2223 Appreciate it!! The EG still has plenty of room to grow👍

@Mr.IX9 Appreciate it!!👍 i still got a lot of stuff planned for the civic too!!!
Lol same here
So if you just ordered a 2000 civic ex evaporator then it should fit the same inside the housing meant for one.
@justinmiller6750 Yes! So long as you have the right housing.👍

@park0rdie Yeahh its hot in these little civics without AC, best of luck!👍
Very good video!!!! Showed me everything I was looking for. Thank you so much
I was trying to do this…. I gave up lol….. I’ll give it another try again now
@anibalbataz1 Hopefully it all actually works when its all said and done..ive never done this before😅👍
Some of the nissan cabin filters work fine in the civics. I use a nissan almera/sunny filter in my Ek Civic evaporator

Wonder if this will work with an integra rs
the integra evaporator should fit in the housing unit as they are the same. unsure if the housing unit will be able to mount properly in the integra.
