  • Introducing the latest and maybe the most innovative Form surfboard to date, let us introduce you to The Mod Pro. Available here www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/fo...
The Mod Pro is the mid length that will make your transition from a shortboard bearable or if you feel a little jaded with your current mid it will re energise your surfing. Mid Lengths make surfing fun and easy, and that usually leads to new found confidence and the resurgence of a bit of flare back into your surfing. Has the dream to get on the world tour next year passed? Maybe. But, the aspiration to surf harder and more critically will never die in most surfers.
Once a mid length has re energised or lifted your surfing abilities you need to jump on a board that can offer you the wave catching and ease of a mid length, with the skatey freeness of a more performance based board. Its always a tricky play when it comes to being a surfer in the UK and how to pick a performance board for our waves without losing wave count or feeling like your are riding too much board to really chuck about. We have the answer...the all new Mod Pro from Form Surfboards. Designed to bridge the gap between new found confidence and getting the most out of your surfing in a varying range of conditions.
The flat deck through the chest and mid area of the board keep the foam packed in and the stability instantly noticeable when paddling. The mod pro is an excellent wave catcher. The slight extension of rail means the foam is foiled beautifully into the tail to offer lots of engaged rail through turns which makes this board brilliantly agile off the back foot. You can keep your speed up through turns in the flattest of flat spots and the channels maximise the lift as soon as you need to rejoin the power source of the wave. This means you tie in fluid surfing on rail with plenty of forgiveness. The tail has subtle curves to keep the pivot with a lower entry to keep the boards speed up at all times. You can cruise and ride this board neutrally or get that foot over the fins and really get aggressive. The clustered thruster set up on the mod pro make it a hugely diverse board that can be surfed as a twin fin, twin plus trailer or a more conventional thruster meaning you can find you level of torque engagement dependant on the waves and what you want to achieve on the day.
This board is well balanced and will work for anyone looking for a step down from their mid length without losing too much volume. The mod pro will work for someone looking to make things easier than their standard shorter board without losing performance in a wide range of wave types.
The Form Mod Pro is the perfect mini mid length for the UK surfer looking to push their surfing onwards.
We couldn't be more pleased with this addition to the Form line-up, it looks like the perfect solution to a mid length malaise.

It's a fantastic board for UK waves, fast, responsive but can paddle into the mushy surf well, a board to look out for!

how similar to the flow stik pro will this surf and feel. obviously the channels are different but the dims are fairly similar. could do with some footage of this board in action to get an idea

The Mod Pro will paddle and catch waves easily just like the Flowstik Pro, easy effortless glide and speed, but the Mod Pro will perform in a more traditional shortboard way when the back foot is planted over the fins. The FS pro will be a more cruiser option for more exaggerated turning lines. In action video is coming soon ....

Can I get one in Futures?

You can get one in Futures, but will have to be a custom order! these are the same price as a stock board but you have total control over colours, sprays, tints, designs etc which would be a little bit extra - www.boardshop.co.uk/form-mod-pro-surfboard-custom
