Fun fact: This is the first time all five original members sing lead on the same track
in order: Tito, Jackie, Michael, Marlon and Jermaine
Yes - what you're hearing is the professionalism of the Motown stable of writers and producers. But it's important to remember that when they toured they played instruments alongside their band. The Jacksons musical gifts are truly legion. It's just so easy to forget because 1) they started so young 2) Michael and Janet became huge pop stars and 3) the boyband stigma (despite the fact that they have always been more than that.
"Dancing Machine" was the big hit from that album. The Jackson 5's performance of the song on Soul Train in 1973 marks Michael Jackson's first televised performance of the robot dance technique. But clips of their performance of the song on The Carol Burnett Show are hard to beat.
They were still in Motown back then, and a lot of the same people were in the bands and sessions for many artists on the label, including members of The Funk Brothers. But even after, there were many of the same artists playing on Motown records until all the acts went their own way to forge their own path.
Good album i i love to see rare cuts that is not often heard thank you Bishop 🔥🔥🔥🔥
i am sure "The Corporation" wrote this one. The Corporation was a group of writers and musicians assigned to write many of the Jackson 5's songs under that name from 1969 to 1975. that is why the Jackson 5 left Motown in 1975. they had no creative control and had all of their music written for them. leaving Motown to sign at Philadelphia International Records and later CBS Epic Records allowed them to grow out of the Motown assembly line and make the music they always wanted to make. they gave us Destiny (1978), Triumph (1980), and Victory (1984).
I think Joe Jackson’s training helped to make them perfectionists. Berry Gordy said when they joined Motown they were already pretty professional and experienced. “The Joe Jackson ass whooping academy of music” will definitely have your kids looking and sounding professional and polished when it comes making music music 😂🤣
😊
I just had deja vu as well! it reminds me of "Someday at Christmas" by Stevie Wonder Absolutely Great channel!!👍👍👍👍💯💯
I had this album way back. But I don't remember this track at all 🤔
