Wow, a whole new world opened up for me when you wiped off the stamped image. I'm new to alcohol inks but I love the effects that can be produced with them. Thank you.
I figured out how to paint landscapes once I found these alcohol inks! ... and now I’ve started a RUclips channel to show others how to use these inks too. Because everyone needs to discover them!
I tried this. I had a back ground of red pink yellow and orange and some copper mixitive. After this video I stamped some gold fish with black ranger archival ink. I used an old tshirt to wipe it off....it did not work. What did I do wrong?
I'm excited to see this painter Tim talks about. Hope you guys got to see her and hope we get to also! Thanks for sharing all these videos. Someday maybe I'll get to go!
I know I'm late...just saw this video..I had to laugh when he talked about mixing the caps because that's the first thing I thought about was cross-contamination. I made labels for my bottles (the color names on the bottles was too small to see) and for my caps. That way when granddaughter uses them I know the caps will be placed on the right bottle☺
I LOVE alcohol ink and use a lot!!! It's a shame the big box art/craft stores where I live in TN carry very, very little of not only these inks, but all Ranger/Dylusions items also. I complain all the time, but seems to do no good. Shipping can be expensive, so I only order online when I HAVE to.
Tim Holtz mini ink applicator sponges and the dabber we put them on keep falling apart. It is not staying stuck to the Velcro he has the little sponge adhered to. I guess he makes them that way deliberately so we have to keep buying them, but I can't even get through ONE journal and I have to replace the sponge because it falls off!! Does anyone have an alternative they might share with me?
To my understanding they are completely different products. Mixatives are designed to work with Alcohol Inks. The Patinas are designed to work on metals. I would contact Ranger directly for the official response on the products.
You can now get a clear Alcohol Lift Ink that does the same thing without the black. My guess is that you need to let the ink dry a little before rubbing it. Then try dabbing it off, before rubbing.
I disagree. I believe the video or the application was faked. Everyone is now saying "oh, you can use the alcohol lift pad" in order to sell a new product. Too many of us reenacted the lift EXACTLY AS SHOWN BY TIM and WE ALL FAILED and ruined our work. Don't try to excuse false advertising and manipulative practices. You just discredited yourself.

Who is this "Sharon" you were raving about? Last name please?? thank you SO much for the info YOU imparted, I enjoyed your video and your products. I will be doing some videos shortly on RUclips helping awareness of alcohol ink... i am still experimenting with it myself but I LOVE the case... got one last week... now I have to look for the "new" colors... since this video is a Year Old! LOL thank you...
So can someone tell me what weight and type of Yupo he is using....there are a lot of different kinds and several different weights, and it is too expensive to get the wrong kind.
Hi I have a question I have not been able to find an answer anywhere so PLEASE HELP.Ok here goes, I make highly scented candles in glass containers and I love alcohol ink . Can I paint the outside of the glass candle container with alcohol ink to make a beautiful scented candle? I have seen pillar candles painted with the alcohol ink and people burn them. Also should I put a clear sealer on it. I hope you get this.Thank you.
can you use Alcohol ink onto Sketch book paper that is very thick and is used to paint with or do you use them with water proof water paper because I've just started learning how to use Alcohol inks for the very first time ever working with them ever
Alcohol Inks need to be used on non-porous papers for the best results. Yupo is an ideal 'paper' to use. If you use it in your sketchbook the ink will just absorb into the paper.
@@ScrapTimeVideos thank you As I'm still learning how to work with Alcohol inks this is still new to me I've been trying to watch any videos on how to use them :)
I would get some Alcohol Inks, an applicator with felt, Yupo paper, Alcohol Ink Blending solution and 90% Rubbing Alcohol and play along while you watch the videos. There are so many techniques out there now - you need to play and decide which you like best.
It should be available at most stamping sites. Here is a link to Simon Says Stamp: • Tim Holtz Tonic Craft STAMP PLATFORM 1707E --- ldli.co/e/9y4qgk [ SimonSaysStamp ]

Every time I see the moment the stamping is wiped off, it blows me away, never gets old.
I have watched tons of videos w/ alcohol inks & Yupo, and have never seen this ink being wiped off, leaving the resist. This is totally awesome!
I tried this. I had a back ground of red pink yellow and orange and some copper mixitive. After this video I stamped some gold fish with black ranger archival ink. I used an old tshirt to wipe it off....it did not work. What did I do wrong?

How the heck does he keep mostly clean while playing with alcohol ink at hyper speed?!
I can keep clean with anything that contains a colour lol

About 15 minutes into the video I see a board used in conjunction with stamping. What is that called???
It is the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform by Tonic. It comes in the big size in the video and a travel size.
How about some white caps. :)Please!! Pretty please!
Just curious why white caps ?

I wonder if anyone videoed that alcohol ink painter. I'd like to see that.

What is the difference between the rose gold mixative vs the Ranger Rose gold patina (Vintaj) Are they basically the same product?

Hi, Can you film the Yuppo demo?
I've tried the resist so many times and all I've ended up with is a smeared black mess. Any advice?

Will this work on glossy or non glossy tiles? I have some unused small white bathrooms tiles I'd like to try this on
It will work on glossy tiles.
What is the best link to buy the whole palette? Box of 30?
I added a link to the new products above. There is one for the palette.
how can I attend his workshop?
Check out Tim's blog to see where he will be teaching.
Will this work on a metal sports facemask
They should. I would test it out. They can always be removed with a rubbing alcohol.
ScrapTimeVideos is it strong enough to take hits and stuff though
That I do not know. I do not have experience in using it in that capacity.
Is there any Tim Holtz markers I can use to color a black and white photograph?
Loved it. X Ros
Are the Tim Holtz branded inks the same as the Adirondack?
Yes - they have just rebranded under Alcohol Inks and is getting rid of the Adirondack brand.
