I skied the actual couloir kind of poorly; far too much upper body movement. This was probably as cautiously as I have skied anything in a while, and I guess all thoughts of trying to actually ski well went out the window. Even so, it was an incredible adventure, and quite possibly the neatest line I have ever skied. Hopefully I will get a chance to ski it again some day (and ski it better). Super extra special thanks to PeakRankings for the amazing trip! It was a phenomenal week!
Was there at snowbird last week on that same day, remember it being crazy icy from the freeze thaw. Props on you for skiing that in less than ideal conditions!
@@thekingmoss honestly the snow in the couloir was very nice chalk, by far the best snow on the mountain. I guess lack of skiers, higher elevation, and a good exposure angle all played a role
Dude you killed it, that was actually insane. Every time I watch a Pipeline video, I always shit my pants watching people down climb that first section. Such a aesthetic couloir, definitely on the bucket list for someday!
Dude, I ski tour a lot. I've boot-packed plenty of times. And I've hiked those peaks in the summer from that spot more times than I can count. I cannot possibly imagine how tough that boot-pack is. My legs would be crushed. Then you have to ski a gnarly line like that. Well done.
Thanks! The bootpack was actually not as difficult as it looked, I was prepared to be wiped out but felt fine at the top. It’s that down climb from the top into the couloir entrance that’s really sketchy!
@@DaleySpam Killer line. My son and I have done the Milly boot-pack and skied Elevator Chute a few times. It's shorter and just a bit less vert, but a cool line. I'd like to try Pipeline at some point.
used this as reference to ski pipeline when in town this past week. thank you! we all just downclimbed from the peak to the top of the line, with crampons and ax made it much easier, and some people were just skiing over those rocks, which seemed a bit risky as they went flying pretty fast haha. thank you!!!
@@DaleySpam ah dang that's too bad, shot 22 is so sick. I didn't realize until after how lucky I was to be there when the ridge was open. I get so spoiled at Bridger where the entire mountain is open 99% of the time
This is a crazy down climb and a crazy overall traverse man. Props for sticking it thru. I was looking at this chute yesterday from Peruvian and after the storm it was buttery smooth
Nice! Hope its open for you. Hike took about 45 minutes at a not-too-fast pace. It’s not as long as it looks. Just be warned, the hike down into the top of the couloir is quite sketchy
@@DaleySpamWhat’s funny is if someone did it would become a thing. People are a lot like sheep. I would definitely want some form of crampon, ice ax or at least a whippet on my poles. You did a very nice job and skied it well. Thanks for taking us along.

Watching this with you guys in the theatre was a blast, you guys are made of tougher stuff than I!
why don't you use your pole straps?
@@tzegras I usually do, but if you are worried about a potential bad fall the pole straps can hurt your wrists

It’s a spectacular line! Yeah, the down climb is definitely the sketchy part. Last season they got so much snow you could just ski all the way down!
Amazing job! Knowing how intense it was just getting to the top and down the climb makes this even more insane. So pumped you got to do it!
You should have joined us…. Can’t wait to ski with you again!
Hahaha maybe next time, but yes looking forward to skiing together again!
The skiing looks beautiful and the hike down looks pretty scary. Good job
Heck yeah! Love to see it, beautiful run!

Nice man, the crampons definitely seem like a worthwhile thing to have for this one. Glad you got a chance to ski it, pretty lucky any time its open
Wow! That looks amazing! Seems like you were leading Sam around on his company’s trip!
Nah, Sam was just as excited as I was to see it was open!
Aye so sick dude! That's a dream line for sure
It’s a pretty awesome one. I wanted to do shot 22 at Solitude but Fantasy Ridge didn’t open and even if it did, conditions were not great over there

A bit on the extreme, THANKS, FOR THE WHOLE VIDEO
I ride the same setup, Moment Wildcat 108’s with gold Pivot 15’s. Absolutely love em, I guess we both got good taste in skis 🎿
Best setup out there!
Such an amazing line! Killed it. And parts of that hike look so daunting, imagine it was quite the thrill!
The hike had some narrow parts but nothing actually too difficult. It was that down climb into the couloir entrance that was really sketchy
That’s gorgeous
That looks soooo good!! Amazing.
Thanks
The top route was closed. We had to hike up the chute. Much easier and all untracked
Oh interesting! I actually quite enjoyed the hike up the ridge, but going straight up the chute would be really neat as well
Pipeline getting skiied more than Big Emma now days.
Sweet line! That hike/entrance is a big nope
Yeah, that was quite sketchy

@@daneg haha thankfully my ikon pass covers snowbird, otherwise yeah, that would have been a bit if a jip
I’d be more comfortable with a set of crampons and a rappel for that down climb
