Nice one Jim , I’m back out on the 18th heading to the Brest Nantes canal , for first few days , then my usual trip south , rivers and then the brutal lake Ganguise to do battle with the trees . Another great film showing a glimpse of why French public waters are so great .

Cheers Jamie, that’s a tricky question as there’s canal networks all over France and all of them will hold carp. Not all of them you can night fish but day fishing only is definitely worth it. I’m in SW France but I know the northern French canals have some gems in too 👌🏻 Very best of luck to you 🎣
what test curve rods you on jim as ive a lot of canal here with in 100 kms i can fish i did do my first session the other week before the heat wave and has my first wild fish

Hi Lucas, yes the French national permit covers all the canals in France 👍🏻🇫🇷 you can buy them online ‘carte de peche’. You need to check for regional rules about night fishing etc but can all be done online. All the canals in France hold carp so it’s just a case of picking one & going for it. The fun is in the adventure 💪🏻🎣
