If you don’t like quick dry highlighters, use the Monami Essenti Soft highlighter. If you like highlighters where you can see how much ink is left, use the Morning Glory Mach Light highlighter. I use the Uni-ball Signo DX for my school tests and often need to highlight. What do you now use for them? I love it paired with my Q-dry Uni Propus, but I do prefer softer colors.
Pilot FriXion has low showthrough because the ink barely even soaks through the paper. Because of this it doesn't dry very quickly and isn't really useful on glossy surfaces, and kind of dulls the words I highight. I still like them because they're erasable though. P. S. they're hard to write over because of the ink.
at 3:05 it looks like they’re really bright and easy to see, but i have them and i have the same problem as you, i don’t even realise i’ve highlighted at times
yeah thats because it just sits ontop of the paper... it dries just fine for me, and yes it can be very light so sometimes double coating makes a huge different

My fave is definitely the Frixion highlighters. I just wish their colour range is as extensive as the Mildliners. I use a dupe of Leuchttrum and the mildliners still bleed a little, but the Frixion doesn’t! Stabilo in general has awful pooling and bleed through, been staying away from them for most of my life but these pastel colours lured me lol they’re not terrible on card stock though!

Dong A recently released the twinliner soft highlighter line. They have pretty colors and resembles the zebra mildliners with the design and the dual tips. But theyre cheaper st 29pesos (im filipino) the zebra mildliners are like 70pesos.
I love the FriXion because when I am highlighting a book, the glob of ink left at the end of the line just annoys me terribly. With these, I just let them dry and erase the glob. They're great!

The pilot frixion ones smear pencil SOOO much! And also when you've highlighted over writing (pen or pencil) it' doesn't erase because it smears the text underneath🙁
Stabilo Boss lasts for a long time! I've had one for 10 years now! I used to draw a lot with it, but I've been using it as a school highlighter for the past 5 years.
I found this random $2 4 pack of highlighters and they don’t bleed at all, don’t smear and dry instantly. They are also in the prettiest pastel colours
my stabilo is very weird because it could dry out a bit, and the next day it is back to normal. Also, it almost never smears my black gel pens, but when I use it over pencil it's kind of smearing it and wiping off the graphite almost.
I hope you can see this comment but yeah, FaberCastell released a set of pastel highlighters too. It comes in Six Pastel Colors. They bleed through paper but not to much. It has a chisel tip on the end.

I have the stabilo boss pastel but they bleed a lot and smear with gel pens (pilot G-1 0.5) if the ink isn’t dry, it’s annoying as hell but I still love them bc it’s the only thing I have.
My mom suggested i using the: Faber-Castell textliner 38 (for thick paper) and (they have pastel colours) Any Unicorn brand textliners (they dont bleed through)
Hi JetPens! I'm looking for a double-tipped highlighter for highlighting/underlining/decorating notes, I use a 0.3 Pilot G-Tec Gel Pen on sightly thick paper. I'm trying to decide between the Uni Propus and the Mildliners. Which would you suggest?

My problem is highlighted lines fade away after few months from book pages they may stay longer on simple white pages but not on book pages. What should i do to make them last forever as they should? No matter what brand or how new highlighter i use, i face similar issue. Its not a problem of ink.
Hi there! The ink you're using might not be archival-quality, which is meant to last for a very long time. We have some archival-quality highlighters if you're interested: www.jetpens.com/Highlighters/ct/47?&f=7935911c4f552722909648a4b4340a7df64680225fdff9b1
I have no idea what I would buy from Amazon. I like the "Kokuyo Better Tip Dual Color" and the "Pilot FriXion erasable" highlighters. Kokuyo is $6.98 and Pilot FriXion is $7.50. I'm going based on their observations and it's so hard for me to choose which one to buy. I like Koyuko because it's very pastel and cheaper, but it has high smearing. And I like Pilot for barely smearing and erasable, but it costs a little more than Kokuyo. Anyone wanna help me choose? Thanks yalls
Hello JetPens! For school, I am trying to decide between the Pilot Frixion and the Mildliners. Which would you recommend for highlighting on filler paper and overall use?
Katherine Sun Can you sample the ink first? You should also do some research. Mildliners does smear certain ink types, but not for me :p If you’re on a budget, Stabilo Boss highlighters are better.
Hiya, was wondering out of all the highlighters you have shown (besides the pilot frixion) which bleed the least through paper? My teacher gave me notes in black and white, and incredibly cheap paper that lets the ink bleed through a lot, so I was hoping you could help me out?
Anyone know which highlighters don't smear gel pens? I'm interested in the stabilo boss highlighters and the friction highlighters since they seem pretty good with gels but mildliners from my experience always turn black after a gel pen notes touch their tip. I see your question is already answered, but I want to put in my two cents. I use the FriXion and let that blob at the end dry well. Then I just go back and erase it. I think they are great highlighters!
Since my last comment I got the Frixions and though they are great pens, there's one thing that bugs me and I figured other people might want to know about it too: the ink very visibly dries ON TOP of where you've marked. Of course this means no bleedthrough (yes!!) but it bugs me because it makes the black ink I've marked significantly less vibrant... To me, it doesn't make the highlighted area stand out anymore; instead it gets covered in the magic ink.
Antares Feren I agree. It makes the text look different from the other printing, but it is to me a little harder to see through. You have sort of muted what you wanted to highlight. I think they are more useful as something to draw your attention, but not necessarily easy to read. I know that doesn't make any sense, but I bet you know what I mean.
Okay someone helps me, I am about to start Sixth form (yay!) and because of quarantine I'm hella bored, I love pastel highlighters but I wanna find a GOOD pack with strong consistent colours, and minimal bleed through...Also, what should I be taking to sixth form...a lot? or a little? Any advice is good :))) Also sixth form is like upper highschool I guess where we do more qualified exams (I'm doing A levels) and they are a lot harder and more content etc.

I think they are more useful as something to draw your attention, but not necessarily easy to read. I know that doesn't make any sense, but I bet you know what I mean.
You are amazing, I love your videos!!!
