      He is definitely a better defender, but you’re tripping about the playmaking and finishing. 1) D’Lo is a very good playmaker and was more touted for his playmaking ability as a “big” guard when he was a prospect. 2) D’Lo was 60+% at the rim this season (comparatively, Stephen Curry was around this efficiency as well). He’s not an athletic finisher, but he’s an effective finisher but sometimes he just settles for bad contested floaters/runners when he can’t get all the way to the rim(which was highlighted about Hayes in this video)

He needs to polish his game a little more on the offensive side in order to make an impact. The best destination for Killian Hayes is Phoenix Suns. He would probably have the chance to get a full awareness of his weaknesses and right away find a solution for it to get fixed , of course , by the mentorship of Rubio & Coach Monty. Killian playing alongside Dbook is a match made in heaven for the Suns. I believe he has all the tools & potentials of becoming the future franchise PG if ever he gets drafted by the Phoenix Suns.

    just as a note to everyone free throws are only more predictive in general because the sample size is big enough to translate, while one season of shooting 60 threes isn't enough of a sample size. If hayes has been shooting lots of threes at low success, it would be a better predictor than his free throws.

    • @jakelaponder7565
      @jakelaponder7565 4 года назад +2

      I mean yes but no, free throws are a good indication of form, shooting form that is as it doesn't rely on strength at all, something the 3 point shot especially at range does, bassically you can make a great 3 point shooter out of someone whos good at the line, because they already have good shooting habits however you'll be hard pressed to find someone who can shoot a 3 but cant shoot a free throw.

    • @mikegribanov6105
      @mikegribanov6105 4 года назад +2

      Ya FTs arent only good cuz of attempt volume. There is a huge diff in the type of shots one can take from 3. Just as an obv example, off dribble jump shots are broadly far less efficient than catch and shoot ones. Meanwhile, free throws are all shot in relatively similar circumstances . meaning the percentage stays a lot more consistent regardless of role, shot selection etc

    Hayes appears to have potential. His athleticism, slick passing, and possible scoring ceiling are attractive. But... he's in a Euro B league, crazy left-handed, and the jump to the NBA is super high. Like Lamelo, I would like to see a full successful year in the highest Euro league. There are more scouting on Desmond Bane or Cole Anthony (and more leadership). Killian looks enticing, but I wouldn't want him in a lottery pick.

    He’s more Luka, and less beard.
    Like Luka he creates using speed changes, and has the intangible “Euro” moves that have made Luka a scoring machine.
    Although Luka’s size is a bit different (allowing him to backdown smaller guards), the skill set Hayes shows is a mirror image at times.
    Say it with me: “DeeeeeeeTroit Basketbaaaaall!!!”👍👍👍

    I agree with you 100% and if the bulls do not take him it better be because he was already selected , the grace period of Jordan's retirement is over and the rebuild will almost be complete with hayes at the point and having a 3 guard rotation with hayes , coby white , and zack lavine might be the best in the east in another 2 years as they learn to play with one another

He could be used in a 3 guard lineup/Death lineup with Steph, Klay, Wiggins and Draymond. Definitely possible.

  • @weedhigh2564

    I agree with your analysis of the player but i still think that Obi Toppin is by far the best player in the draft from what i have seen so far. I think this class will be a legendary one since there are so many players with huuuuuuge potential and i think we will quite a few really good players come out of this class. Cant wait to see who will Miami pick, i do hope is a stretch 5 since that is what we absolutely need the most, a huge guy that can shoot it, we all know Bam can but he feels probably still too inconsistent to see him try shoot it frequently during a game, he wil get there in time but while we wait we may as well get someone who is already comfortable shooting it and is a good defender and rebounder so there is less pressure on Bam which in turn will help him to make his preformances more consistent and even more impactfull than they already are.
