This project was such a joy to work on. At the last minute I flew from Idaho to Vermont in order to film and understand Floyd Scholz bird carving seminars. I have never experienced quite an environment like this. People come from all over the place to take his courses in bird carving and most have been coming to the carving classes for more than 10 years ! Wood carving is truly one of the best arts to get into at any age. I can definitely say that this particular project simply made my heart happy. I've known Floyd since 1993, and I have followed his work and participated alongside with him at many shows across the eastern seaboard and I must say, he is truly one of the greats in this medium, and his personality is second to none. Truly a genuine artist and most of all, an inspiration to many of us who have followed in his footsteps.

If more people 'made' and created then there would be less illness and strife and hatred ,,, creative people are more understanding than most ,,, teach kids to use their hands for beauty and they would see life as beautiful, these people, gifted artists give me hope ,, thank you

As a nature and wildlife photographer, as well as an avid woodworker. I always have been intimidated by trying my hand at carving. I have tried many times, only to end up with another stick for the fire. I would love to be able to carve out a bird of any kind !!
