  • The prestigious Living Legend Award honors Floyd Scholz for his contributions to wildfowl carving on behalf of the Ward World Foundation and Championship. Floyd also premiered his spectacular life sized eagle at the Ward World Championship which is featured in the video. As with most Ward World events, Floyd also did a live carving demo of a kestral, judged competitors carvings and in general was present throughout the yearly event and finally received the tremendous Living Legend award at the end of the Ward World event.

    It just doesn't get any better than this. A True Craftsman who captures not only the beauty of his subjects, but the imperfections and living spirit of each carving he does.
    My hats off to you sir.

    Didn’t see much wood carving going on more like wood grinding. All though that one man that no one was paying much attention to was doing wood carving. Either way you can’t deny the enormous talent and skill on display. Kudos to all of the artists and craftsmen and women of the world!!

    He can add so much detail to a wooden sculpture that seems to be almost impossible to be done.
    Incredible! He really deserves the title of a legend 🧡 🦅

    Most of those look so real! The feathers look so convincingly soft! Hard to believe these are made of wood, even after watching them carve the dang things!

      Please do! That is my commercial art, it is just that. Wanna try to duplicate any of it? Hahahaha! Some of my small pieces have made me 1,000's of dollars, figure out my hourly wage and compare it to one of Floyd's masterpieces, divide by hours+ wage. I'm happy Floyd enjoys working for that, I don't any more, so what? I'm now not allowed to have an opinion?

    • @jeanblythe1595
      @jeanblythe1595 6 лет назад

      Your opinion is yours, but you keep insisting it is the right way to look at art. Sir, you are a passive-aggressive idiot, upping your talents and credentials with every post that disagrees with you. You are a legend in your own mind, and probably not that many others. You may be an artist in one definition of the word, but I'll take "slave" eagles made with love of working with wood than someone who loves money more than anything else. You, let me say this plainly, Ted Parker, are an opinionated idiot.

    How to be a slave artist.There is no freedom in his work.

    • @C00T47
      @C00T47 6 лет назад +4

      Ted Parker what do you mean? You shouldn't be calling him out anyway, people with no skills should not say something like that to people with talent to spare. So make something just as good, then criticize him.

    • @tedparker2164
      @tedparker2164 6 лет назад

      Hi, well, I used to do that 35 years ago and learned better. No skills? Maybe you, I used to carve Chippendale reproductions in hardwood ( Gouge)for a custom furniture company before becoming a national spokesperson for a carving supply company and have won national contests carving with both chainsaws and gouges. Who are you Mr Nobody? Do you have credentials to tell me anything? :-)

    • @C00T47
      @C00T47 6 лет назад +1

      Ted Parker furniture? Wow such a job full of freedom. Animals can be in almost any shape, including birds, they rarely have to be semmectrical, bird carving probably has the most freedom and variety of all. And cool you can carve chairs, but do you free hand unique animals down to the smallest detail? Don't say mean things to intend to put someone down, even if they may not ever see it, you still said something about a fellow carver that was not nice. Yes, you are very good at making cool furnishings, but you should still respect there creativity and skill in there own way. Do unto people as you would like them to do to you.

    • @C00T47
      @C00T47 6 лет назад +2

      Ted Parker I dont have to have shit for credentials for me to spot a hater.

    • @tedparker2164
      @tedparker2164 6 лет назад

      I didn't put him down. It is the truth. COPYING every detail on everything is slave work, and it's not "ART" it's craft for that very reason.I don't expect you to understand much of anything as your're a child from what I can tell. In 50 years you can put 5 of these by various people in a row and people will say," Geez! Those look just like an Eagle. Who carved them?" You see the object in this carving form is to copy exactly the bird, Picasso never had a problem with brand recognition. I'm just saying, if you want to get known for your skills, invent something that's all yours. Otherwise you're just a slave to COPYING. I did carve birds for 10 years until I realized I went to art school for 5 years, and I did it to not be a slave to anything. Maybe someday you'll understand. Just plain decoys have more freedom and style. You can't develop style doing this.
