At first hand, I thought that I was getting a little too excited trying to build Branded all the way back to LIOV. Still crazy that the Deck can still compete
@MrMan-uw2vp ive actually been playing sylvan rikka therion before the aroma stuff came out, hermitree getting free draws is nice, cherubsprout gets you to petal, evil thorn, petal, the new aroma level 1, etc. It works really well
I feel like salad is worth adding rn. It's a fire deck which helps it going second, but kinda hinders it going first (hiita is alway live both ways). The boards are solid, if played properly you can play through nib and droll well (not really nib if it's paired with other hts, but that's given). Imperm, ash, and veiler all kinda 1 for 1 so it's pretty good. It can push through boards well and has lots of non-engine space. On the other hand, it can be blown out of the water by engine to engine. With non engine it can beat the snake eyes decks, and the other decks aren't really bad matchups besides maybe lab (and shifter decks). I'd love your opinion though Josh. Have a good day everyone with whatever yall are doing and God bless :D
thats literally what I was about to say. 18 non engine with a solid 1 card and an even greater 1.5 card combo ist worth talking. Weasel is literally broken with princess in the game
@opthomas09 What combos are you doing to only end on bagooska? I mean sure you can but at least with it you could have a trap, princess, and followup with spinny gaz
Hello Mr. Schmidt, first time commenter here! Just wanted to ask for your opinion on Raidraptors as I do believe there has been a few RR tops in OCG, just wondered whats your opinions on them
Imperm on the raiders knight makes this so much more awkward. When people figure out that choke point it becomes so much harder to where you have to open 2-3 card combos to play through it
He didnt even play the optimal yubel build for PHNI and he said himself that he only won because ppl dont know what yubel does + he ran Shifter. It has potential but its hard if your opponent knows what the deck does
@@HiImTylerrcap it get you killed quickly, don’t be like me and underrate it. I got killed online so fucking fast. The deck has solid interruption but it can kill you so quickly its more than just superpoly
RDA is insane one card combo deck right now and can end on some crazy boards turn 1 and otk turn 2 it sadly dies to the same handtraps that kill the top tier decks
Unironically, I actually do think Marincess is very underrated right now and is better than people say it is. The whole engine is a bunch of 1 card combo's, can play through pretty much every hand trap in the game besides Nib (but you can still play around it), has a bunch of room for non engine you can fill up with ht's or board breakers, has a bunch of follow up for later turns and puts up a pretty good board that can take advantage of cards like Zealantis. I won't be surprised if people get tops with it. I'd put it in rogue at least.
@@Rumblethon not on the spreadsheets I've seen. Kash also has more 1st place win than either deck. Purrely going off results isn't even a top 5 deck right now.
Then I will wait for your opinion on Ghoti because, from my perspective, it could be a nice contender. Even though it needs the graveyard, it can definitely run Shifter as a going second or side deck card, and fire meta seems really weak to banishment, which is the main mechanics of Ghoti.
EARTH Machine is making a Sisyphean rise every format. I think it’s a high end rogue to low tier 2 since 2021 and hasn’t quite slipped yet. I think the deck is too weak to shifter right now and Fire Format brings the Shifters to the fore.
I’m still coping that dragons have a chance this format. Can still bystial diabelstar and linkuriboh, but also can just slim down on bystials so they aren’t bricks often anyways. Borrelend is hard to out for the top decks without specific nonengine. Nib and droll being popular is probably the biggest hindrance the deck has right now
I think Yubel deserves to be mentioned. I am a Labrynth Player and absolutely LOVE the deck. But after testing Yubel - it was more for fun as I have always loved the anime character and just pulled the new cards and had the old ones - I was so surprised how good it is against so many decks. Superpoly clears the entire board without that the opponent can react to it and Shifter main is just incredible. Not to mention that they have a Superpoly trap. I personally think we are heading into a board breaker format and this is something Yubel does so well. It’s a great going first and second deck.
I have a question. How much does skill matter in this game? For example, if you played a rogue deck against an average/above-average player who played a tiered deck, would you be able to win most of the time if you were more skilled?
Hello Josh, I really appreciate your content, it’s very instructive, I like to play rogues deck, I always find it super fun, therefor, what is your take on yubel so far ?
you should really look into runick spellbook, being able to summon jowgen easily to shutdown all the meta decks really hurts them, you got the ghostrick utopic draco line, messenger of peace and such as well. also being able to side in gendo for the floo matchup and also siding or maining d.d. dynamite is also good
Any thoughts on dragon link this format. It seems alright because of voiceless and lab being good, along with removing linkuri , I:p and witch from fire king decks
Majespecter are not top tier, but you're right: the link monster is THE choke point for the combo. Right now, Majespecter players are testing crossout, eagle booster and forbidden lance as way of protection, Majespecter Wind can also be chained to an imperm or veiler so that they lose target and you get the effect anyways.
Ghoti is tier 2 at best. Combos are solid, rebuild board and hand from banish, any fish is searchable. The only draw back is having to know your match ups and playing into your opponents effects
Exosister enormously deserves new support to keep it up to date. Konami made the deck entirely too fair (that is to say, nerfed the absolute sh*t out of it) by restricting both Martha and Returnia so ridiculously hard. And these are cards that released alongside Tearlament, which had ZERO restrictions on what you could do, which is such an insane comparison.
no raidraptor on this list? got a massive boost and can play right through nib-droll (not both at the same time but evfen fire passes to 2 handtraps often). 2 towers into a boardwipe 3th towers just seems dumb to me
Plz test Runick Ghoti or Superheavy Ghoti, Josh. The deck is one of the few who can play under Droll and Shifter on its own and can still make a decent amount of interaction without requiring you to use more than 2 or 3 from hand. :)
