I still buy CDs. As long as they are done right. They have amazing sound. All my discs are 24 bit remastered. So that being said. This player is up my alley. As far as streaming goes. Thanks but no thanks
Thanks Eric for the video -I been spinning the silver disk since 89' Another feature I like with the CD60 is the detachable power Cable , The AKM 4490 dac chip is a solid performer and also used in many Modern outboard dacs . Hello; Based on your suggestion, I bought a CD 60 and there was a great increase after CD 6006. Thank you very much, I wish you good luck with my love...
@@crutchfield Thank you very much, CD 60 was a great step after my previous player, CD 6006; The stage was widened, my bass became stronger while reaching a more natural and voluminous presentation, 6006 was not bad, yes, but CD 60 is definitely superior and you never get tired during long-term listens. Also enjoyable... I prepared a small demo on my channel to give you an idea, if anyone wants to hear it, you can check it out... Thank you again for everything and wish you continued success...
@@crutchfield Hello again; I want to ask one more thing and get your valuable opinions, do you think Marantz Sa14s1 is much better than Marantz CD 60 or will this transition not carry a significant increase? Maybe I can try 14 S1, but I like CD60 too and I don't want to be upset, thank you in advance, good work. I hope... By the way, I will use it as a normal CD, not as super audio.
This CD60 player looks very much like the Model 40n. So, if I want to combine them aesthetically, I will be basically buying 2 separate DACs. What's the point? The CD60 has a dac, the Model 40n also has a DAC. Isn't Marantz aware of device modularity? I'm harsh, but I think I have a point.
it's a valid point and as someone shopping for a streamer and amp, I share your frustration at the DAC overlap -- but the only way for Marantz to avoid this here would be to make the cd60 a transport only, which probably means fewer sales.
I have 6007 amp and cd player same dac on paper but the input on the amp is not as good sounds flat i dont know why this is, there is a video with the marantz engineer on youtube and he says use the cd analog outs for better sound maybe they cheaped out on circuits for amp dacs ruclips.net/video/Xt8RwntkVHE/видео.html 29mins
Hello, I am writing to you from Turkey, I wanted to know if switching from Marantz CD 6006 to CD 60 would be an improvement or would Rega Apollo and Atoll CD 100 make more sense? I have been using Marantz for 4-5 years and I am very satisfied, my whole goal is a leap forward. and get a more dynamic cornered sound, thank you in advance for your interest 🙏🏻
Thank you for reaching out Aslan we really appreciate it! If you like the Marantz sound, I think it is a good idea to stick with them. There are some major improvements on the CD60, and it comes down to the DAC built-in. You would want to make sure you are connecting with RCA analog cables to your connected equipment, so you are using the DAC on the CD60. The biggest advantage for your needs out of the upgrade would be in the selectable DAC filters, you can play around with them and choose which one suits your listening style best!
Absolutely. If you have a free analog RCA line-level input on your Advance Acoustic xi75 you can connect the Marantz CD60 and have great sound quality from your CD or USB collection!
The Marantz CD6007 is a high-quality unit and shares many of the same internal features as the newer Marantz CD60 including the high-current power supply and selectable DAC. Marantz is always evolving the design and upgrading, so sound quality is superb on both with a slight edge going to the newer CD60.
The Marantz CD60 is just a CD player, so it can't directly power speakers. It's designed to connect to a separate amp/receiver or to powered speakers that have their own built-in amplification.
The Marantz does reduce the THD to about half of the Denon and it increases the S/N by 6 dB which means the Marantz is the better choice. It can be found here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_642CD60/item.html
Indeed - it's incredible what they call "entry level" today. AV receivers that are $1500 and up, CD players coming in at $1000....the only area this wasn't affected by is, seemingly, the UHD Blu-ray player market, which still offers "entry level" crap like those $199 Panasonics, Sonys and LGs. However, that plastic paperweight Panny UB820 is still HIDEOUSLY overpriced.....

Nobody buys CD;s any more. Marantz should concentrate on a quality digital streamer/hdd player, I currently have all my CD;s archived on 3 separate passport hdd;s played via Itunes and ripped with their lossless encoder. Sure this player might sound slightly better than playing off my hdmi cable from my PC but its way overpriced and sure as hell not anywhere near as flexible.
Not True. Last year more than a Billion dollars worth of CDs were sold in the USA and Billions more were sold across the World. Other Nations CD sales never declined much. Why are you even here, just to complain? This is a CD player. CDs sound far better than any music you can stream or download.
I bought the player from you guys and don't regret it. Great player.

Marantz needs redesign the PM8006 to match with this model, Model 40 is too expensive.
