For me as a D750 owner there are 3 things that make the D780 so much better. 1. The finally useful live view 2. The best battery ever 3. The great bsi sensor for low light
You probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can watch all of the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my gf lately xD
Excellent comparison. Can I ask how different is the grip? I love my D750 and have definitely considered the D780 for video as I don't like the ergonomics of the Z series. Unfortunately it doesn't have IBIS or i would buy it without any second thoughts.
The grip is pretty much the same. It's deep like the one on the D750. I personally think that IBIS is overrated. If I'm shooting a moving subject, then it doesn't help, and if I'm shooting a still subject, I'll just use a tripod. I suppose for video it might be more helpful. Last time I had a camera with IBIS every once in a while you could see it jump which wasn't good for video. Maybe they're better now.
I liked the way you told the differences....i bought a new d750 with 50 mm1.8g Lens... i am happy with results in photos. Since you told you had for 5 years.. would you suggest me which zoom lens may have good quality image ....i have in mind like nikkor 28-300 .. can i go with that for travel....
I don't use long lenses very often. My main zoom lens is a Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC. I also have the Nikon 85mm 1.8g which is crazy sharp and amazing for portraits. The Nikkor 28-300 is probably very convenient but I think you should ask yourself how often you will be taking super zoomed in pictures. When I go traveling, all my favorite pictures are of the people and things I interacted with. For that the 24-70 takes much better pictures. It lets in much more light and has great subject isolation from the narrow depth of field. On a trip I probably only have 1 or 2 times where I wish was able to zoom in more. You have such an excellent camera body, I think it would be unfortunate to use a lens that doesn't really take advantage of what a full frame sensor can do.
Great comparison! I’m so tired of reviews and comparisons that don’t do anything but list specs. I wanna know what it’s actually like to shoot with. Ideally (for me) every review would be a long term review. I have a question, and I know this is a lot to ask, but are you willing to share a raw file from each camera where the shadows are really dark, like almost black? I’m very curious to know what the noise looks like at low iso when raising shadows a lot. If that sounds like a hassle and you don’t wanna, that’s totally fine! I thought I’d ask at least. I recently had a Sony A7 III for a couple of weeks and when I raised really dark shadows from that camera, the noice had line patterns in it. It was pretty ugly. But I don’t remember my old D610 having lines in the noise, so I’m just curious if it’s the same in the D750 and D780.
nice video and thanks .. in my opinion these improvements like live view autofocus, better video focus , touch screen and snappy operating, process it’s cool and useful for sure but targeted specially Nikon users because all these added features you find it with canon system back to 2013 canon 70D till now and they even did improve it... it’s weird that Nikon release this great camera bundle with 24-120 f4 it’s very nice lens but not perfect and old too also it’s not reflect the new abilities of D780 i would like to see new lens deadly silent something like Z line .... at the end it’s safe and wise move from Nikon because they still new for mirrorless + they have only few new lenses + they want to make smooth transition between slr to mirrorless without disappointing the loyal customers and users of Nikon
Nikon still trail behind Canon with pulling focus, I'm a Nikon shooter changed from Canon but miss the superb focus pull ability of the 70d or 80d, I like the d780 features, but for the money that one area with Nikon gives me a pause for thought, I dont shoot much video but it would be nice if Nikon could eliminate the slight wobble when touching the screen to focus, especially for the price tag of the d780, great video by the way I enjoyed to comparison
I own Nikon D750 and I want to buy Smallrig cage for my camera. But sadly I couldn't find Smallrig cage for D750. I am guessing they have stopped the production for D750. By any chance do you know if I can use camera cage of Nikon's latest D780 for Nikon D750? As the cage is available for new model and not the old one.
It's hard to say for sure, but I think there's a chance that it wouldn't fit. The battery and memory card doors have different lengths/positions on the two cameras.
Hi, is D750 still better choice now to buy, because I am considering to purchase over D780 only because of the price is very competitive but not sure in realtime... since you own both cameras so looking for a suggestion. Thanks so much in advance for your help.
If you're using it for video, the D780 is worth it, but if you aren't doing video, the D750 is a better purchase. I don't think the prices have changed much since I made this video.
💥😤💥 No pop up flash. Damn. As a portrait photographer I’ve been to many personal events where I’ve used the pop up flash for a little fill light in certain low light conditions. Big deal breaker for me.
I'd Love to have D780 but every day I am getting convinced to Z6II more and more - especially it has the same price as D780 (which, to be honest, should be like €300-400 cheaper these days).
yeah, but if you already have spent another $3000 on fx lenses what are the right answer ? :) for body purpose it looks like a great deal but if you have to buy another round of lenses its not .
Shooting 4K 30fps, it lets you record for 28 minutes 40 seconds. The SD card gets really hot, so I could imagine at some point you could run into trouble with the camera overheating. If you use an external recorder, it should be able to record for longer.

I've been thinking about the d780, but after watching your review, the d750 would fit my needs just fine. Great review! Thanks!
Which did you buy ?
I agree with your first commenter: I've had the D750 for about five years, but I'm also thinking to upgrade to the 780 or the 850.
I like the D780 because it has an extra long Bulb exposure fo landscapes and astro in manual..
I like your review, concise and to the point. Thank you.

@Bo Jacob definitely, have been watching on Instaflixxer for months myself :)
I was very interested in the Nikon D780, but I really like having a built-in flash, so it's a no-go for me.
Thanks, Nikon.
Super highlight comparison reel. Focus peaking on D750: Someone on net says you can use color sketch effect on EFFECTS Menu kinda works as FP.
Nice, concise, helpful video. Thank you!

Hola buenas tardes, que te pareció el resultado en rango dinámico y colores del nuevo sensor ? y la comparación en isos altos? Gracias.

Thanks... then i will go with 24-70 Tamron g2 version....
¡Gracias por tan buen video!

Well you got a sony. ISO invarience is what the ugly lines are

Just get a Nikon SB400, it works!

@@meade918rthis is precisely why I haven’t moved to Z cameras and I’m stuck with F cameras.
What is the problem of memory and filming time when filming 4k video?

Excellent review
Yeah buddy boy
The Nikon D750 and Nikon D780 are both on my to buy list alongside the Nikon Z5
