Give you a tip for the Sonicdrill leg (L foot) Because of the silly design, Sonicdrill's yellow feet tend to collapse inwards when you push it, which in result, make it very hard to lock Quantron's left foot onto Sonicdrill. The best way to do it is first, spread the front part of the tank a little bit. Then pull out Sonicdrill's yellow feet. By doing that, it gives you the clearance that you can attach the "L" tabs to the slots under Sonicdrill's yellow feet much easier. Once you plugged both sides on, now what you need to do is just carefully move the parts back to place (with the combined foot connected). If you do it correctly, everthing will be in place and the combine foot will stay on really well. If you think it's still a little loose, thicken the "L" tabs slightly with superglue or nail polish. Hope this tip help. And sorry if my wordings are not too clear on the instructions, since I'm not feeling to make a video for it. But if it really helped, feel free to spread this solution.
This part with the yellow feet pushing back into the tank treads drove me crazy. If you squeeze it all together it actually works as designed but it doesn't feel like it.
I was diagnosed with severe insomnia which causes me to have a very hard time sleeping. But when I watch Peaugh's video review, I start to feel sleepy!
Really awesome review; thanks for throwing him up next to M3/Intimidator. I've been waffling back and forth on getting this guy for months, but your videos convinced me to take the plunge. I'll know who to blame if it all goes south. :P Cheers!
by attaching the cannon to his arm it really makes him look like he should be from the wfc and foc games, especially with the translucent elements and cybertronic designs
I picked this guy up and I love his overall design. Yeah, some parts could have been better, Sonicdrill's foot connector to be specific, but as a whole he's amazing. The range of arm motion on here is borderline ridiculous. I too stand mine next to Intimidator, bow vs. sword. (And if your clever, they can swap weapons) Love your review. Stay Froody
I just got this Quantron for xmas and the right leg does pop those clear yellow plastic tabs from the feet if you try to bend him at the knee on the right leg. I'm glad I'm not the only one that was terrified of this design. Both ankles are also very tight to rotate, but they have zero ratchet or locking front to back so this figure will fall forward or backward with disastrous results if you are not careful. It isn't sturdy enough to be falling on the floor or hard surfaces without breaking something fragile off it. I still think it is way better than anything from Hasbro Combiners.
I also had lots of trouble getting the arms on because of how you have to squeeze both tabs at once. I used your same method, trying to work it from back to front and then you have to put him in T-pose and raise both arms all the way up to know if you are actually locked in or not. If you don't do that then the arms can fall off if you raise them up during posing. They lock really good in place but you have to raise them up all the way to verify that connection on mine.
I just got mine today looks amazing the feet lock on really tight on mine can move ankles around without it popping off from either sonic drill of celeritas. Only problem I have is the right hand connector broke when I tried to clip it on blindfire :(
At 19:48 you messed up Overheat. Those orange panels are in the wrong spot. You did the exact same thing I did during my first transformation. The orange panels actually rotate down not up and they snap perfectly and securely into place. Now sure if anyone pointed that out yet. You might have to pull the orange panels away a bit while rotating into place to clear the sculpting detail of the other parts. Once you get it close you'll realize quickly your error and see how they fit perfectly into those shapes left by the empty space.
Good reviews! They didn't turn out as well as I wanted, which is good since I couldn't afford them anyway, hahaha. One thing that always makes me sad is when there's any kind of QC issues or design flaws with 3rd party TFs. I understand why, but at the price they charge, they should be negligible. My opinion, anyway. Metalstorm and Blindfire? (the one that was recolored as Ripper) look great, and I'd want them singly, but the rest just don't do it for me.
To be honest, the combined mode, dosent look bad, he looks cool, but apart, as individual figures it ain't, also the whole combining transformation it aint fun, looks more tedious than anything else, I know they wanted to go all complex on him, but it makes it not fun to combine them. Altough the combined form looks sweet, I don't think I will get him, warbotron's afterburner already looks superb in compared to this whole figure in my opinion of course, I believe Lightspeed's mold is already out also.
This guy looks amazing. I dig the proportions. Peaugh, are you going to pick up Prometheus? From what I've seen so far, I haven't really liked the proportions in combined mode. Too stocky, everything is too thick. When is Guardia coming out?
The problem (aesthetically) with a lot of these 3rd party combiners is the bulky nature of the legs which make the robot look like its suffering from an oversized calve deformity.- Which may be why they usually can't stand up straight. - Can you color Quantron's visor with "light blue" paint to make him more show-accurate?
I wish they were sold separately instead of one set. Not only would it make it easier for those who want the whole set to pay for it, but I personally only want Overheat (and Ripper, but I live in the UK and shipping would have been a nightmare, it being a Maketoys exclusive) but there's no chance of me getting him because no one wants their Quantron to only have one arm :(
Your combine mode head is also not correct. You need to push it back and down into the neck. You'll know it is right when the base of the neck drops down into the square space and the head doesn't look like it's floating anymore. It's subtle, but you'll notice a difference and the neck will be less likely to open up when you lift his chin to look up. The head movement is very limited on this figure in combine mode though.
Good review dude! I have this set too. Good detail on all the figures, a few disappointments here & there but overall not bad. Would get higher marks w/me if it were MP scaled.
Awesome, awesome toy, that waist though, as soon as that plastic gets brittle over time, it will break for sure. But I do want this thing on my desk very soon!!!
I'm a little sad you didn't hook Ripper up to him. Quantron feels kinda lackluster after seeing all the individual robots. There were some really cool standalone bots among the limbs, but the torso and Quantron himself really don't do it for me.
At 25:35 nobody can see what you are doing or talking about with the double barrel large gun. That is probably why they say get a wide angle camera. You realized. ;-) RUclips is hard work!
I always wanted one of those 3rd party combiner, they are so freaking awesome, but couldn't afford the price. i wonder why they are so expensive... man...
His waistline look like it's going to snap. Looks very fragile. I think you reviewers should use Mp Prime for size comparisons. I'm sure everyone now has one. This combiner looks good though. These companies should add attachments so as not to stress key parts of the figure. That waistline could use an extra piece of plastic to keep it from cracking in case you have it displayed for a long period of time.
Good review. However, one of my pet peeves is improper use of words. "Finagle" means "to acquire by deceit or trickery." You mean to say "finesse." You have to finesse that part in. Sorry, that just irks me. I'll get off my soapbox.
SMG Time It looks like them and the combaticons are coming. www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generations-classics-44/more-combiner-wars-figures-discovered-182070/
It seems like this is a bit too fiddly with a lot of pieces. It's a shame because the individual bots look pretty good. Hopefully another company will give Computron a go, as he's the only G1 combiner that I liked that I don't have a Third Party release for yet =/
+HORRIOR if you mean feral rex when you say predaking the scale is WAY off.make toys and fans projects combiners scale well with each other but are far too small to go with other 3rd party combiners....and I have heard bad things about this set....much better to get the warbotron version of this team if you want it to scale with other combiners.
i know it will never happen but i wish a company would make 5 gesalts that them selfs could combine into a mega gesalt. but there arnt 5 gesalt autobots and i dont think there are 5 gesalt decepticons
if you include Japanese only releases there mite be enough for the autobots...and speaking of Japanese only characters tfc toys have "king posidon" (Japanese version of seacons /piranahacon) and leo kaiser combiners planned for next year.☺

I absolutely love the look of this. It was the telescoping bow that does it for me.
When I see Quantrons left shoulder I can't help but seeing one of those really old cinema projectors with the big reels!!
Nice touch, putting the hands in the feet.
Please have them send you a wider angle lens with the next toys they give you to review so that the toys can be IN FRAME
MMC Feral Rex still holds the throne of the combiners.
I agree
Do not be worried, as maketoys uses good quality of plastic, it will never break.
I also had lots of trouble getting the arms on because of how you have to squeeze both tabs at once. Although I'm not a great fan of Computron in the anime. But this combiner looks GREAT!

This Video is the best instrution for this toy !!!
I love these 3rd Party Combiner Sets. Not-Computron is enormous
Good reviews! They didn't turn out as well as I wanted, which is good since I couldn't afford them anyway, hahaha. You should show off your collection in a video.
who's the guy at 26:53 i didnt hear what you said
This guy looks amazing. I dig the proportions. Peaugh, are you going to pick up Prometheus? From what I've seen so far, I haven't really liked the proportions in combined mode. Too stocky, everything is too thick. When is Guardia coming out?

Looks good and all. Seen leaked photos from TFC Toys of drawings a LONG time ago, wonder how TFC's is gonna turn out if it gets made.
Right, i've seen one of their members and their Bruticus combiner.
i just looked it up, looks kinda interesting.
I did see maketoys' version when they did a Side By side picture with it. Not really liking Maketoys' Defensor, so for me, its TFC's ftw.
I know I am super late to this party. Is there hand storage for the gestalt hands in vehicle or bot modes?
Yes, there is. You won't be disappointed if you get this. It looks quite nice in my display case lol
Your combine mode head is also not correct. You need to push it back and down into the neck. I wanna hit the 'ship my loot' button at BBTS sooo bad right now... Dunno how much longer I can wait for my other preorders to drop...
Good review dude!
I have this set too. Good detail on all the figures, a few disappointments here & there but overall not bad.

Thats ah great gun wow
Awesome, awesome toy, that waist though, as soon as that plastic gets brittle over time, it will break for sure. But I do want this thing on my desk very soon!!!
Nice video but are his arms not switched? I believe the G1 Computron usually has Afterburner as his right arm
Looks great but not enough G1ish for me ... I'm like 3 out of 5 but for 400$ ... I'll wait and see if the other company can impress me more.
So does it matter which version of the arms are on the other sockets, or not?
Awesome!!!
quick question, is it normal if quantrons leg is not stable? mines kept falling..maybe i transform it wrong, i dunno..
Did you get a discount, or did you need to pay $319 (or whatever the price is)?
I wonder if there is a set of combiners which have a combined alt mod as well as robot mode.
thats one big piece of awesomeness
a shame I cant afford this one :(
if you don't know. then quantron is a 3rd party computron
Dem orange toes do
the way the crossbow thing reminds me of plezuon
idk why but now looking at this something tells me that generations silverbolt is gonna get repainted as scatershot
+xXHunterGamingXx You were spot on! Impressive guess work
I'm a little sad you didn't hook Ripper up to him.
Quantron feels kinda lackluster after seeing all the individual robots. There were some really cool standalone bots among the limbs, but the torso and Quantron himself really don't do it for me.
I wanted to see more size comparisons...but anyway, great set
His name isn’t Quantron!... It’s COMPUTRON!
Where'd you get your intro, it's awesome!
At 25:35 nobody can see what you are doing or talking about with the double barrel large gun. That is probably why they say get a wide angle camera. You realized. ;-) RUclips is hard work!
I always wanted one of those 3rd party combiner, they are so freaking awesome, but couldn't afford the price. i wonder why they are so expensive... man...
Jeki Eng well they sculpt them injection mold them paint them etc Also they have to pay off the equipment too
This set was not very expensive actually. It's at BigbadToyStore now for a decent price, it's well worth it.
His waistline look like it's going to snap. Looks very fragile. I think you reviewers should use Mp Prime for size comparisons. I'm sure everyone now has one. This combiner looks good though. So, how has Celeritas been holding up as a foot so far?
***** Fine! No issues.
That waist looks about ready to snap. Is that a toothpick?
Good review. However, one of my pet peeves is improper use of words. "Finagle" means "to acquire by deceit or trickery." You mean to say "finesse." You have to finesse that part in. Sorry, that just irks me. I'll get off my soapbox.
How many third party gestalts do you currently own?
ewoksinspace what's a gestalt
Great review! Now let us hear you ROAR! lol!
mangrasshopper J He'll be up tomorrow.
ok, looking forward to your review!
*****
awesome review btw do u have to buy them all separately or can u buy them as a set?
What third party combine should I get I have a 500 budget which one would you pick
Probably Prometheus, S.G Perseus Six(Hercules), or Feral zrex
ltranc i think about m3 mensor i got this one last week with the extra part
Thomas Lawson you should get feral rex
they made a higher quality
That not-Lightspeed arm transformation for combined mode looks...frustrating as all hell.
could you spin the thighs of the two arms around to have a full arm piece instead of the hollow bits?
Is this an interpritation of G1 Computron?
Oh, you know it, brother! ;D
TFIta369 i wish they make the technobots in combiner wars line
SMG Time It looks like them and the combaticons are coming.
www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generations-classics-44/more-combiner-wars-figures-discovered-182070/
scattorshot and onslaught right
Yes
It seems like this is a bit too fiddly with a lot of pieces. It's a shame because the individual bots look pretty good.
Hopefully another company will give Computron a go, as he's the only G1 combiner that I liked that I don't have a Third Party release for yet =/
Wow the waist on Quantron is small....if you accidentally dropped it, I fear it may snap at that point.
Nice fig. regardless
Hm, looks incredibly fiddly to me. I may go for the Glacialbots instead.
How much does the whole thing cost?
+lwc888 like 400 I think
I really think that the arms should be swapped.
Celeritas is the most frustrating one
mp computron?
BUT DOES THE MP GRIMLOCK HELMET WORK WITH HIM!?
megamanpwn3dmario Yes
*****
How is the size comparison between quantron and predaking?
+peaugh About how tall are the individual limb bots?
+HORRIOR if you mean feral rex when you say predaking the scale is WAY off.make toys and fans projects combiners scale well with each other but are far too small to go with other 3rd party combiners....and I have heard bad things about this set....much better to get the warbotron version of this team if you want it to scale with other combiners.
Celeritas shoulda been made bigger :/ He looks so puny like how Groove looks on Defensor lol
I think the Takara version looks the best out of all the Computrons.
The only thing I don't like about him is he is very thin side view.
No afence
Ben
hes small :(
So ummm basicl flip this up
Wuuuuuuuuuuuuutttttt
i know it will never happen but i wish a company would make 5 gesalts that them selfs could combine into a mega gesalt. but there arnt 5 gesalt autobots and i dont think there are 5 gesalt decepticons
+A.J. Grayson Sure there are, at least for the Decepticons, LOL
Devastator, Bruticus, Menasor, Monstructor, Abominus, Predaking, Piranacon
i frogot about paranacon and whats a monstructor
Monstructor was formed from the Decepticon Pretender Monsters
ohh thats what the pretenders were iweasnt alive at the time
if you include Japanese only releases there mite be enough for the autobots...and speaking of Japanese only characters tfc toys have "king posidon" (Japanese version of seacons /piranahacon) and leo kaiser combiners planned for next year.☺
sell trade?
