- This time I want to show you in only a few minutes how a portrait of Gandalf the Grey was created with charcoal.
In real time it took me about an hour and ten minutes.

I wonder why I like this so much!
Now this is something I would love to have framed. Beautiful work.
Nailed it. Awesome piece!
There is no words to describe how beautiful this artwork is. You're extremely talented. This was amazing. Be proud of yourself!
Absolutely amazing... I would give anything to be able to draw like this
Fantastic portrait! The contrast is awesome, as is the detail in the hair!
magnificent!!
good work love the charcoal drawing! charcoal just feels so free you can just blend lines and smudge for shading and erase for light. such a wonderful media.
amo a Gandalf
It looks so good .. great job .. Hope one day I'll be as good as you are !
Man I love Gandalf, and this drawing is stunning, beautiful. Awesome pencil work!

I LOVE YOU!
Oh my goodness your amazing!! I hope to be as good as you one say! :) I was wondering what the difference between the lead chalk you use, and charcoal pencils are?
wtf? only an hour plus ten minutes?! u kidding me!! it's so good! how long have you been drawing?
very nice
I drew it to thanks for the help
Very good. The end has gone bad
That was amazing. So interested to see you 'finish' one detail (i.e. the eye) before moving on to anything else. I've only just decided I want to learn to draw and all the tutorials I've seen seem to get a rough sketch done of the layout then work on details. Did you start out like that or have you always worked on one bit at a time? How do you keep the paper so clean? Mine always ends up grey from smudges :-(
u keep a paper under you hand when you shade or something prevents the smudges
Awesome you must be
Oh my goodness, your drawing skills are fantastic. I have a question......When you first tried to draw a portrait of someone, did it look very very bad as in "You need to go take some classes because that looks terrible!", or did it look like someone who just needed a little more practice with certain areas like "Wow, thats...really good for a for a beginner." ?
verry good! what type of equickment are you using for this drawing? and what pencil? and how do you make the shadows?
This is amazing!Did you draw with a picture or only by your imaginations?
great. i like
nice drawings, may i ask how you draw so accurately without any guide lines or proportional reference points?
Oh. My. GAHD
Can you make a step by step video?
Sorry about that typo.
What music are listening? When you draw?
Trying to copy that while listening to sax guy.
how many years you have been drawing?
How long did that take you. ??
cartoonking3 is where it's at
