His crush got long overdue. We all could see it in his eyes. I missed the point about him picking and putting back the hammer though. Hope he didn't take a life for a metal ring. That doesn't equalize, does it?

Finally, he grabs a hammer and returns her ring with only implications as to what happened. Don't forget, McCall didn't rely on the police or anyone else, he tracked down the guy *by himself* and put him through hell as though it were just another walk in the park. If you were in the thief's position, would *you* want to risk having McCall come back and finish the job by telling the police about him, when the guy was a literal "ghost" and could easily just disappear and never be found, not even by police? No. If he's even still alive, the thief will be too terrified to even consider risking McCall's wrath by telling the police about him. Even if McCall wouldn't actually *do* that, the thief doesn't *know* that (he literally knows jack squat about the guy, at most he might know his supposed last name [since it could very easily just be an alias as far as the thief knows] is "McCall"), and he's likely only able to think of McCall thinking the same way that *he* does.
I don't believe it was revenge that motivated Robert. It was an overriding sense of good v evil, and a desire to return balance. I think his satisfaction lay in the lady getting her ring back and not exacting pain for the crime from the robber. Just my two cents.

I know these stories are absolute tripe, but I think we all like to think that there really are people out there who can actually do this. Back in the 80s, I used to love watching the original Equalizer series with Edward Woodward.
Except in the real world it's not so much a professional vigilante as it is random vigilante justice, usually by crowds of people torturing a man _accused_ of committing rape with no court or due process. There is a reason people like this character are not good for society, 1 man judge jury and executioner leads to a lot of dead innocent people.
Or sometimes someone taking the law into their own hands is a courageous and good thing, as usually in the courts money is the main motivator not justice. Hence why the rich and powerful get away with rape on the innocent with no retribution. Takes courage to step outside of a system based on flawed rules where money talks and the money less are silenced either with money or by money.
There's alot of talented actors out there. But... There is not another actor in the world that can pull off the roles Denzel has done. EVERY MOVIE he is in is FIRE🔥🔥🔥
Must've been a deliberate decision in both, the script and the screenplay, not to show the Ring Retrieval scene. Heightens the suspense. Allows the audience to work out multiple scenarios!
That's good storytelling. You don't NEED to have what happened spelled out for it and I appreciate it when movie makers give their audiences credit for their intelligence. Contrast this with Javert's death in Les Miserables. The movie one, obviously.

This is a true example of a humble person that will always win
“Its only money.” Then goes to get hammer 😂
And he returned it after use lol
He still had the receipt
It’s okay. He wiped it off good.
Be kind, rewind.
The ring unfortunately was more than money.
That sledgehammer is now on Amazon warehouse selling as "used"
Slightly used.A little bit deformed. Lol.
preowned hammer
I don't believe it was revenge that motivated Robert. It was an overriding sense of good v evil, and a desire to return balance. I think his satisfaction lay in the lady getting her ring back and not exacting pain for the crime from the robber. Just my two cents.
Hey your two cents is actually valuable I like reading people's comments like this🤗
That’s exactly why the movie is called Equilizer
Agreed sean, he brings order to chaos not chaos to chaos.
Exactly..its not about revenge..but about the reckoning.
Why is that
Washington is a hell of an actor...AND..A Extremely Intelligent Person in real life.....
Listen to some of his interviews and a few motivational speeches he has made.....You will be impressed
I like his veneers.
ANd Chadwick Boseman's role model. RIP.
Yes he has gravitas definitely a heavyweight
I have seen him, unnecessarily humiliate a rather sweet young Australian reporter, who was just talking to him about his latest film in an organised interview. I was embarrassed for her and I lost all respect for DW.
@@heli-crewhgs5285 no surprise. There is a reason why they are called actors. Oh well. At least Keanu is still a decent person. Also saw Penn & Teller in person and they were nice too.
There are some men and women with whom no one should never mess with. 😔
Like Edward Snowden.
@GasoLINA INK!
Hear, Hear!
True! ..... never messing with anyone - unless they fully deserve it - is the wisest way to live. You never know the capability or boundaries of people when provoked.
I seen this happening a few times with a guy I used to work with in construction in the 80s. He was a tiny little guy but one of the most dangerous individual time-bombs of violence I have ever known. He was the kind of guy who would rather die than not win. When you mess around with strangers you better be prepared to meet one of these individuals eventually.

Got to love the violence of this scene with no punches thrown
Hello pretty lady, how are you doing
Still would have liked to see something, like how he put all the pieces together and how he found the guy.
Your imagination of what happened is more dramatic than an actual scene might have been.
@@butchie2752 Hello how are you doing
I just have this eerie feeling that robber is now chair ridden, and he’s eating his food with a straw
I understood that reference, shawshank!
If he's, you know, not dead
@@gamecrushers0193 lol true, since he said that the police said the dude done it four times and shot a guy, he might think to off the dude before he gets to shoot someone again.

Still haven't figured out what I want as a career in my life, but then I watch this and jason Bourne and im like yup that's what I want to do. Then I tie my shoes and realize I almost suffocated myself.
Don't worry, most other actors can't tie their own shoelaces either, I think your dream of a career as a thespian is still alive.
😂😂
I want to be the medical lab tech who tests peoples poop samples all day. To each their own I guess.

*grabs hammer to go bash his skull in*
AND he put it back up for sale, holy shit lmao.
Denzel is great in these types of roles because he personally knows that you don't have to act like you're strong to be strong.
Proper bad ass, even puts the tool back where it belongs. What a legend!
Denzel is the man. Always excited to see his movies!
I love this heartwarming story of building a bright red shed so kickass that the perp agreed to use the ring as payment

I absolutely love the way this part was written. Kudos 👌🏽 Everyone knows he found the robber took the ring back and now the robber is gone!
So far, everybody in this comment section should feel proud. Solid performance down here.
Someone definitely needs to put the Home Depot theme over the montage of him tracking the robber.
Amazing movies, I liked them more than John Wick. Denzel is one amazing actor and a human being.
Kresimir Cosic I also think the Equalizer film was way better than the John Wick movies.
Hell yes, and The Book of Eli was amazing also
No way in hell may be the first part is good as John wick but the second is shit
Definitely. John Wick has more and arguably better action, but that's all it is - just action. Equaliser has better story, acting, filmcraft, characters and overall a more enjoyable experience in my humble opinion.
The calm quietly confident baddass protagonists are always a thousand times cooler than the loudmouths.
extremely cliché tho
Especially when you have an actor like Denzel as the quiet badass.
@Who Cares? opinions bro i respect it
Its only on a movie tho
He was about to get the beat down right there in the store, until those kids came in.
Would have been nice if they made a bonus scene of him going after the robber. Maybe even telling the robber, "it's hammer time, punk!".
Thanks for updating this clip. It's a scene I'd forgotten about.
There are movies you've loved watching but won't watch again until you're reminded of a scene like this.
"Its only money" then he proceeds to do the opposite. This is what a real batman would be lol. Just a regular but HEAVILY trained
He means that it wouldn't have been best to confront him then and there. He doesn't downplay the robbers actions.
Batman's a pussy he would never Kill... Also the only reason you even read/watch anything batman is for the Joker.
@@subzero308 What’s wrong with you? Downplaying a heroes moral code...
Batman does not want to be murderer. He dedicates his life to being able to stop his opponents without lethal force. Second, he worries that once he crosses that line, he will not cross back. Third, he wants to believe that even the worst criminal can be stil be saved.
About a year or two before Nexflix released it's version of the Punisher, I remember reading an article online that said Denzel's character in this movie was how The Punisher should hv been on the big screen.
@@Sensei.Of.Kivotos Ikr. It's been hinted that the moment Batman crosses that line, he'd shoot up to be a contender for most dangerous person alive in DC. A Batman with no moral code is a Batman to truly be feared.

Yes, I had to hit the guy in the head twice in order to kill him,, I'll just Trade it, For a bigger one,,, We'll be sure and wipe it Off,, And return it to the right department.
Q: Why did Edward Woodward’s mother give her son a name with four D’s?
A: Because Ewar Woowar sounds stupid.

I love how we’re not shown the actual violence. It’s on us to imagine the absolute beat down he put on the dude.
😂🤣 yes
People didnt realize he just helped the thief to hang his pictures on the wall, because he is a good guy always there to help!
Never underestimate those guys at Home depot they could've been a hitman in their past life.
😁😂🤣... I gotta be careful the next time I return an item with some lousy reasons 😁😂
That's so clever. Somebody should make a movie about that.
There's alot of talented actors out there. But... There is not another actor in the world that can pull off the roles Denzel has done. EVERY MOVIE he is in is FIRE🔥🔥🔥
I would've loved to see that BEATING. To bad the producers didn't think to add that scene to the movie.

They could not have found a better actor for that movie than Denzel . Excellent actor
