you're a trooper Soleil, fighting those mosquitoes. I ran from them yesterday trying to work in the gardens. anywho love all the ideas you have for transplanting and dividing. and I am excited for the planting of the new bed. can't wait to see what you've come up with.
I'm in MN zone 4 and have several "non-hardy" mums that have proven to be perennial for me. All were planted in the fall and surprised me in the spring with new growth. They keep coming back every year! They are insulated all winter under lots of snow in my climate, so maybe that helps? Plus they get lots of moisture from snow melt in the spring.
Soleil, your garden is beautiful every season, but here in early fall, it looks spectacular. When I see your gorgeous Japanese forest grass, I'm envious, because I've tried growing it several times, but haven't had any luck with it. I hope you and your loved ones have a fun weekend. ~Margie🤗💐🦋
I too struggle with that type of grass. I keep on trying different locations. For this year I’m going to leave it until next spring and hopefully the roots have become stronger.🌸❤️🇨🇦
Hi my sweet friend I watch the garden video from the beginning to the end. I didn’t wanna miss any of your beautiful garden tour today. See you in the next video my dear friend. Hugs and kisses from grandma, Sandy, and Debbie.
Your garden is BEAUTIFUL! You’ve given me ideas how to arrange my garden where there needs to be flowers and plants. I live in a suburb zone 6a with a LOT of grass you’ve made it work my yard is not fenced off, so I must be mindful of neighbors (lots of grass and evergreens) I use large blue pots like your as property lines. September is my favorite season my birthday too!you encouraged me to start shade garden👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Thank you so much!🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
I am in zone 5, Ontario Canada and I am planting a lot in the end of October because the nurseries have amazing sales then. I noticed that some of the plants will not survive planted that late by generally if I plant zone 3 hardy plants they will have no problem. All depends on specific conditions in a specific place and it has to be trial/error to find out. Anyway, my local nursery is selling plants for $1-2 in October so I am not losing a lot if anything dies. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Soleil, thanks again for such a comprehensive tour. Even though I’ve seen your gardens before I keep on learning about the different plants. Thank you for telling us about the viburnum. I only planted it last year and when I looked at it today it did not seem to grow very much. 😂 I have two perennials to put into the ground, a beautiful moon rock hydrangea which I really don’t want to do anything with right now with it’s gorgeous creamy white blooms and the PW let’s dance Can do hydrangea has started to put out new buds. I think I will have to sacrifice some annuals so that the flowering shrubs can root. 🌸❤️🇨🇦
Good morning another beautiful garden tour. I love this time of year as well but just not happy to let it all go in another month or so...Rain does wondesr for the plants even better than a good watering from the hose, I think. what plants are behind that Peiris around 22 min thanks so much for letting us in for the views of the gardens, Love love Genie : )
It will not spread like an ostrich fern in my area. Different locations may be different and you can Google or ask your local gardening extension office. 🤭
Hi Soleil Thank you for this video and also responding to my questions. I love watching your tours. I want to add the neon sedum and a hydrangea and a pumpkin mum. Did you buy pumpkin mum from Lowe's That is such a vibrant orange. I haven't seen that mum color in the Joliet area. Oh, yes, bought 3 mums last fall at Lowe's. 2 made it this year. One is HUGE!!! I wanted a red red but it is more rust red. Also enjoying a purple aster bush (didn't cut it back far enough in July). Thank you for sharing.
Your garden is very beautiful!!! By the way, what are those 2 grass in the pots? Do you normally leave those grass overwinter in the pots? Have you try the evergreen in the pot?
I love looking at your flowers but, when you are talking about a certain flower or plant please point to it so,I will know which one you are talking about because, I don’t know every flower by name. Thank you!!🥰
The fern are beautiful, but the kind we have here i Sweden are very invasive.. and pops up everywhere.. So I don’t use fern in my garden.. The same is for lupins here.. Dangerously invasive..
I only saw 1 or 2 honey bees this season in my yard. Many small bumblebees. What happened to all the honey bees? I've read that all the new 5G towers built during COVID lockdown affect the bees and bugs with frequencies.
you could easily just move that Rose Of Sharon over a bit. and move the yellow rose too. (years ago I moved to a property that had over 100 roses. roses are much tougher than we think). :D
I always enjoy your garden tours
I love the way you arranged the pebbles around the crabapple tree. Very pretty❤
Thank you! Its fun to play with rocks! 😊

They are pretty intense, those mosquitoes might carry us away! 🫣
After the heat wave we had I’m trying to do my transplants from pot to garden bed but those wasps are so angry at this time of year.🌸❤️🇨🇦
I just got a new TV and I realized your garden is even more beautiful than I thought!
So glad it looks better and not worse! 😉
I have so many mosquitoes too!! You give me inspiration & been out moving things around too. Love your work ethic & beautiful job
Awesome! Thank you! 😍
Your garden is so beautiful. Love it and so enjoy your videos. Thank you.

Yes, I am sure the snow helps them overwinter, that's great you have had excellent luck with them! 🤩

Sorry it hasn't worked for you with hakonechloa grass for you! 😒 Thanks for visiting the garden, Margie!
I too struggle with that type of grass. I keep on trying different locations. For this year I’m going to leave it until next spring and hopefully the roots have become stronger.🌸❤️🇨🇦

Thank you so much Grandma Sandy and Debbie!! 🤗
I always love your videos! Keep them coming!
Beautiful as always! I agree September is one of my favorite months as well. When those mosquitoes flew into your camera, I thought they were moths!
They are mosquito monsters!! 🫣
Thanks Sunshine everything looks great ! 🌺💚🙃
Thank you! 🤗

Happy birthday and I am not a betting lady, but will guess you will enjoy shade gardening. 🥰

Yes, we have to take advantage of this time of hear to get things a good start! You will be glad you did. 🤗
The garden is absolutely beautiful at this time. Mine is slowing down now.
The cool temperatures definitely slow things down here, too! 🙃

Thank you! You may be asking about the large root geranium or geranium macrorhizzum? 🙃
Your garden is beautiful! Do you know if that fern in the shade garden will spread crazy like an ostrich fern? Deanna
It will not spread like an ostrich fern in my area. Different locations may be different and you can Google or ask your local gardening extension office. 🤭
I love your garden! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! 😍

I don't remember where I got the mum, but probably Lowes or Van Attas...glad you got some to be Perennial for you! 🙃
I need to pick up some Lungwort!! I love my Tassel Fern as well 🌿. I wonder how the small butterfly bushes would do in a pot?
They do pretty good in pots! 🤗
Beautiful 🍃🌺🍃
Ugh, those dang mosquitos! The only bad part about the rain 😠
Agreed! 🤪
Your garden is very beautiful!!! By the way, what are those 2 grass in the pots? Do you normally leave those grass overwinter in the pots? Have you try the evergreen in the pot?
I just planted those pots and it is Prairie Winds grass by proven winners. 🙃
Your garden is so beautiful! I love the garden tours that you make! May I ask what is the tree or vine that is staked in 1:30 near the camera?
That is a ninebark shrub that I am trying to tree form. We will see !
@@Suburbanoasis Very intresting 😍
I love looking at your flowers but, when you are talking about a certain flower or plant please point to it so,I will know which one you are talking about because, I don’t know every flower by name. Thank you!!🥰
Service berries are very slow growing. I’m not sure I have the patience for them.
Seems I may not either! 😄
Mosquito state bird of Michigan, lol.
The fern are beautiful, but the kind we have here i Sweden are very invasive.. and pops up everywhere.. So I don’t use fern in my garden.. The same is for lupins here.. Dangerously invasive..
There are definitely ferns like that here as well and I avoid them! 😄
@@Suburbanoasis You have a wonderful garden! ❤️❤️❤️
Where do you get your stones surrounding your garden?
From Facebook marketplace or neighborhood apps with people selling for cheap of giving away. 🥰
I only saw 1 or 2 honey bees this season in my yard. Many small bumblebees. What happened to all the honey bees? I've read that all the new 5G towers built during COVID lockdown affect the bees and bugs with frequencies.
I have tons of bees 🐝
I have not heard that theory, but have had lots of bees this year. Hmmmm. 🤔
you could easily just move that Rose Of Sharon over a bit. and move the yellow rose too. (years ago I moved to a property that had over 100 roses. roses are much tougher than we think). :D
Yes, I have definitely thought about that and also about moving the rose of sharon elsewhere. So many ideas and so little time! 😄
