  • This video will get re-made. It was filmed very early in stages of learning everything with videoing. Also I was in a hurry to build this to test an engine for a customer. Anyways this harness will work on Jeep Cherokee 1991-1995 4.0L engines. I will be doing more years along the way.

I did a 4.0 swap on my 2007 JK. I love the 4.0. Now I'm thinking about putting on in my 2000 ram 1500. The magnum is nice but I prefer the 4.0. And if it lacks power ill just build a stroker.

@@dexjs I used the AW4. XJ gauge cluster too. I Took out all of the canbus. Only used the window and hvac controls from the JK. So was an obd1 4.0 jk with aw4. Bolted the JK transfer case to the AW4 but clocked it for more ground clearance.

Yea, that is my next project. I would love to see a Dex jeeps video of this mod. (For 98 xj with aw4)
It should be really simple. Just interrupt the signal wire going to to shift solenoid with a switch.
But a how to video would be fun!

There's a single wire, I'm not sure which wire it is, but if it either has constant power or no power, it stays in first. That probably wasn't very helpful. I'm sorry.

@@rogerkidd6103 a "stand alone harness" implies use with a "stand alone ecu". anyone searching this term is looking to use a aftermarket ECU (AKA stand alone ECU). therefore this title is misleading as it is a factory ECU running on an engine stand! that's not hard to do with any engine. all you need is battery power, key on power, and ground.
