Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! We were really happy with the results. Especially for our first attempt. We have another batch in the polishing stage now!
"Although they did get tumbled while they were riding in the back of the trailer." lol I chuckled. Loved watching the process! I am definitely gonna do this.
We have about 20 pounds of rocks we've collected from various trips to Lake Superior. They've been sitting in the closet, as we never quite figured out what the heck we were going to do with them...but after watching this, we may have to get a rock tumbler! :)
Yes you should Jeremy! We collected some from Lake Ontario this summer and have been tumbling some of those along with the ones we got in Oregon and Washington. We think they are going to polish up really nicely!
Great work. Have you thought about a borax cleansing between stages? Do a 3hr borax tumble between stages. Works wonders. Made our final product incredible.
Yes, we are doing that on the current batch we're tumbling! We did it before the pre-polish stage and then again before the polish stage. They are polishing now so we're anxious to see how this batch turns out.
Pretty rocks! I was wondering, looks like you shot this hand held while doing all that rock sifting. Does your iPhone stabilize it or do you do it in post! It sure rocks!
Yes I did do it hand held. It does have some stabilization which really works pretty well as long as you're pretty steady with it. I have a tripod but I had misplaced it when I was shooting these but that would have been the ideal way to shoot it. Anyway, I found the tripod and also got a new ring light so next time I'm shooting in the trailer I should get better results.
They sure turned out beautiful ! Thanks for taking us through the process and the end results, that are awesome😊
