There's a sadness to this song, not within the melody itself, but the context surrounding it. SAC will one day change from the pleasant, gentle, whimsical city this song evokes, into the hauntingly empty and lifeless city from KH3 with a dark secret buried in the depths below. Everything this song represents will be gone and, as per the trailers, forgotten by all.
Although I love the KHIII Scala ad Caelum field theme, I'm really glad we got new music. This one gives an innocent feeling, as if we had just discovered a magical world for the first time. It's really pleasant!
What a nice track. I love hearing the connective line in the accompaniment woodwinds from kh3 -> mario rabbids -> to this^ Kind of weird that the KH3 scala field theme wasn't brought back or evolved on for Missing-Link, but it's a great theme
The connective lines that Yoko manages to pull off never ceases to amaze me. Though I should expect no less. I find it weird too as its such a brilliant theme but I expect this to be purposefully done to distinguish KH3 Scala to ML Scala. Thank you for dropping by, love the projects you have done so far!
Think it’s a similar idea to how Twilight Town’s themes are different for Roxas and Sora, how they perceive that world affects the music heard, but there’s still similarities due to it still being Twilight Town. Scala, however, is just night and day, one is nearly unrecognizable to the other, so the music in turn reflects that drastic difference.
@@aguywithgames3135 true, but that could just further the point. We now know that those two were the same world, yet had vastly different themes to them. Similarly, we know the two scala’s are the same world, but something happened to make this one into what we see in 3. Perhaps a similar world transformation like what aqua did with land of departure, hence the vastly different themes? (Notice how both this scala and land of departure are much more upbeat and vibrant, whereas KH3 scala and castle Oblivion are slower, and much more somber.)
Interesting and unexpected. Has a Randy Newman feel to it. I wonder if there are multiple variations and the theme will change with each area of the town (similar to how the music in Kingdom of Corona worked).
I wonder if Yoko composed the music for missing link. This theme is more pleasant compared to the current Scala given all that had happened to it. It seems like the main coal is for the world to be safe and inviting.
I like this as a field theme for this world more than the one in KH3 (although that one fit the atmosphere of the situation as an empty reflection conjured from Xehanort's heart and the site of the final battle, while this works better for a populated city to explore). I will miss the Edge of Existence battle theme, but I think that was _too_ awesome of a theme for a hub world.
Hopefully they will add a slider for eye colour…As why have a slider for clothes and hair but not the eyes which in KH eye colour has importance? I want to have my character have rose pink eyes!
It's a nice track, I suppose. But it doesn't really fit any particular one place like a glove. Which is kind of disappointing with how flavorful KH tracks usually are. Just absolutely brimming with personality. This ... This feels like it could play in just any casual cutscene in any of the og KH town worlds. It feels more like a cutscene track than a field theme I guess is what I am saying. When you measure this up against Traverse Town, Twilight Town, and even Daybreak Town, this feels so lacking in personality in comparison. And one nitpick, this doesn't feel like it belongs to the same world as the Scala theme in KH3. The reason why I consider that bad is because like Dwarf Woodlands and the other BBS princess of heart worlds, the Scala theme in KH3 is like the dark world version of Scala. The field themes in 0.2 in those three worlds were all made to feel like dark reflections of the worlds that are down there. Darker than their lighter conterparts. Sure they also used the Dark World leitmotif. But they were all meant to sound like dark reflections of the world. Naturally it would stand to reason a Scala that isn't abandoned yet should have the opposite effect. A more lively light track that takes samples from the more depressing track to carry the same feel of belonging to the world. I feel like this is hugely missing here. They feel completely isolated these two tracks.
thats totally fair. I think what I'm most excited for is that personally I like this direction for the KH series and if they're putting this effort into a mobile game, I can't even imagine how insane KH4s music is going to be.@@KingRioMusic
Goodness gracious for Heaven has blessed my ears! Is there NOTHING that Yoko Shimomura can’t do? God BLESS that woman! 🥹 Btw, Rio, are you gonna like become the new Dexoysprime, but for KH OSTs now? If you’re unaware of who that is, they’re like one of the biggest channels for gaming music, and guess what music is pretty much always there? Sonic no less 😊 They’re such a big channel that gains a lot of subs and views by promoting the official OSTs, and I hope you continue to grow, man! Best of luck to ya 👍🏻
It’s an amazing track. Probably not, I only uploaded these as no one as I had and I had an access to the beta. I don’t want to get in trouble with Square Enix by uploading too many official tracks. Maybe I will do so for other series.

Ofc i think thats the idea, kh3 scala is basically plain despair because pf everything that happened
If Traverse Town had a 6th district
(edited, forgot 5th district exists)
It does though
@@KinodeVGMOh. Thought it was just 4. 6th in that case
@@jackmoonwardit has 5? Did DDD introduce 2 more? I thought kh1 only went up to 3?
@@mattjoe98 That area you fight the boss in DDD is the 5th district apparently. I always assumed it was all 4th

Very Ghibli style of whimsical/magical, it’s so good!

@@aguywithgames3135 or how vastly different castle oblivion and land of departures themes are
@@Thesuperduperbooster That too.
Edit: Though to be fair, it was meant for a big reveal. We know this is Scala right out the gate.

Yoko Shimomura shredding the piano
This is so good man 😭 This has to be Yoko, who else can work a piano like this?
This kinda sounds like something Christmasy to listen to . Anyways, I love your kingdom hearts soundtrack .
Has me frolicking
Bros in the meadows straight frolicking to this frfrfr. 🫡🫡
its honestly crazy how good this track is for a mobile game. yoko the goat fam
I’ve listened to this an unnatural amount of times
*General KH Fan: Mobile games don't matter
The KH Mobile Game: *plays this song
*GKHF: That's on me, I set the bar too low...
Didn't expect for my ears to get blessed today, but lo and behold...
What a gorgeous song.

It’s so good 😭🫶🏻 new KH music makes my heart swell ❤️
Oh that is curious, when you play the song at 1.5x speed. It's sounds somewhat close to Edge of Existence.
Interesting and unexpected. Has a Randy Newman feel to it. I wonder if there are multiple variations and the theme will change with each area of the town (similar to how the music in Kingdom of Corona worked).
yes, finally the musics are coming, I m more hype about the musics than the game
Man, i was looking for this since the BETA released. Thanks for sharing!!!
The beta is outstanding!
I just now noticed that this kind of sounds like singing in the rain a little bit 🤣🤣🤣
Holy smokes! Look who's back!
I am beyond excited for the full game release! 👀👀👀
It sounds like it shares the same main melody as the astral plane battle theme, or at least some variation of it.
Thank you for this, I love this theme so much already!! Really my kinda vibe!
I love it so so so so much !! Thanks for uploading it ! Now I need so much of a 1 hour version 😭😭😭😭
Loop video for now lol
really hope this works on blue stacks so I can turn the volume up on my tv all the waay
The first part feels like a place from Pokemon DP game
You mean it sounds like Lake Verity? I can see it😊

Piano progressions sound very similar to the orchestral version of Treasured Memories ✨

I'm sure the intro sounds exactly like the piano part of Treasured Memories from the Orchestral World Tour
0:39 Hits so Deep!!!

can i live in scala
Living in this time scala would be so cool
THANK YOU! I just...I- dont know what else to say, THANK YOU✨✨

Your welcome!!!!
Desperately need the sheet music to this
THANK YOU I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS!!
Gonna miss Foretellers Case.
It'll definitely appear in the series after this, im sure.
Can't wait Scala will be like Yharman
guess this theme is epsode 1 to 3
The rest is gonna change themes

..."Destati"?
was the the other scala ad caelum theme sampled in this? Does anybody hear the other theme in this?
possibly could be :)
The piano part at the very beginning is from the KH3 Scala Ad Caelum. Listen to the songs back to back with this in mind.
Hopefully they will add a slider for eye colour…As why have a slider for clothes and hair but not the eyes which in KH eye colour has importance? I want to have my character have rose pink eyes!

Yea kh fans will fucking eat up anything kh
so far from mid haha but I respect your opinion
While I think it doesn't fit the mold for a regular KH theme, its not a bad theme. Likely because of how high the bar has been set.
