@@LimitedEditionMotorcars I looked it up and Florida, like most states, does not charge a sales tax on groceries, candy and sodas are charged at 6% (sugar tax). If you are paying a sales tax on groceries, maybe it is a local tax.

The tri-county area (Dade, Broward, Palm Beach) do charge tax on food. Maybe somewhere in the boonies they don't but here they do.
