Around 1959 - 61 a young girl drowned in the Irwell where the stream that flows through the sandpit into the river. Ver sad - I think she was only 8 years old.

I love it in Kersal Dale, it is very, very interesting ive seen deer several times you can follow the river all the way up to vast moorlad
