I really liked your street tour and was surprised that you said you didn't explore so much because I thought you walked around quite a bit and gave us a nice sense of the area. Most other vloggers just cut from one scene to the next so for all you know you're a hundred miles away. Also, I like how you spent a lot of time talking about (and eating) those soup dumplings! I've always wanted to try those but I don't think we have them here in the U.S. They look tasty! Speaking of tasty treats, what was in those pots at 8:47??
I think it is about a 20ish minute walk down East Nanjing from the Bund Area to Peoples square, so I walked half the road but I didn't explore the side streets or much of the malls. At 8:47 to be honest I am not sure, I know that it is a meat inside being cooked and will be served with a soup, but I am not sure if it is lamb, chicken, or pork. I was thinking about trying it but was not eat the mood for a big soup....maybe next time I will come back to try and ask questions. The pots for cooking was very authentic so I liked to watch it, glad you also found it interesting (: In the USA to find soup dumplings like this I would try major cities like New York or LA. I bet in China town you can find a photo and ask someone and they will know where to go. Many chinese migrate to California or NYC so I bet some have opened their own restaurants.
I am surprised that there are still some fake bag or watch seller on the streets. I guess they mainly target at foreigners. As a Chinese native, I haven't come across those guys for years.
Thanks for sharing and surfacing the truth. 👏👍

Very glad that Bryttnie mentioned those fake product sellers on the street. A nice warning for the first time travellers.

I heard it is fake, but it looks genuine and has a cheaper price.
Not worth waiting a long queue for bakery.
Those are bao zi, not dumpings. Huge difference, might not big deal for you, but please don't call them dumpings.
