I see one of the problem is you are still too young to understand some of the philosophy. I watched some of the couple travelers in China recently, they are very much open minded, and appreciated how the Chinese welcome everyone to their country, and how the country is running differently from other, and the Chinese are happy about their lives. Be mindful and humble.

After a week in china, i thought your own experiences may change the way you felt about china and make you stop and question all the propaganda and sensationalism spread from the western media about china. Instead, you are cracking ignorant jokes about chinese people being censored, no freedom, police beating citizens up etc. I've lived in Europe, the states, Australia and China and I can say that the only difference is that china is far more technologically advanced, much better infrastructure for citizens, better healthcare, cleaner and 100x safer with a far lower crime rate.
As a Chinese who went to college in the US. I would argue people in the west are more brainwashed than people live in China. In terms of censorship, it bothers me in some occasions especially in the entertainment industry like movies and etc. But for protests and complaints about the government or public services , there are actually a lot of ways you could do that, for instance, dial 12345 or go to the relevant government offices. Often times problems will be solved quite efficiently. If you live long enough in China and actually learn the language and culture, you will probably have a more unbiased view. People only consume western media will have a hard time understanding the world in an objective way. Not only for China but for other countries as well especially non western countries.

I've been to China as well and it's the only country in the world where I field not confortable at all. I've hated my experience there 😢. I still love Chinese culture and I met many friendly Chinese abroad.

The girl, as a part-time chargeable tour guide, doesn't seem cheap but considering the wages in Shanghai, the price is still acceptable. If I were to travel abroad alone, I would also hope to have a kind local guide (especially one as beautiful) to take me to experience the authentic local life. It would help not only to avoid being cheated but also to experience the real local culture and cuisine in a shorter period, or to save a lot of travel time (since time is very precious during a trip).

I've lived in Europe, the states, Australia and China and I can say that the only difference is that china is far more technologically advanced, much better infrastructure for citizens, better healthcare, cleaner and 100x safer with a far lower crime rate.

As a Chinese who went to college in the US. I would argue people in the west are more brainwashed than people live in China. In terms of censorship, it bothers me in some occasions especially in the entertainment industry like movies and etc. But for protests and complaints about the government or public services , there are actually a lot of ways you could do that, for instance, dial 12345 or go to the relevant government offices. Often times problems will be solved quite efficiently. If you live long enough in China and actually learn the language and culture, you will probably have a more unbiased view. People only consume western media will have a hard time understanding the world in an objective way. Not only for China but for other countries as well especially non western countries.

If I were to travel abroad alone, I would also hope to have a kind local guide (especially one as beautiful) to take me to experience the authentic local life. It would help not only to avoid being cheated but also to experience the real local culture and cuisine in a shorter period, or to save a lot of travel time (since time is very precious during a trip).
This price is already very high. If you find an ordinary tour guide in Shanghai, $100 is usually enough!
