Can you help? I'm using 8mm
Rondell beads and 0.60 mm trilene fishing line, but I can't get my mat stiff at all
What am I doing wrong??

Fishing line ? You need to used metal wire , hope that helps. 😊

I use soft copper wire. it have plating layer, and not dark by time. The patterns I made did not fit the fishing line.
