Hello and great pick! I’m vacillating between the GR2 26L in slate or brushed brown. May I ask, do feel that the slate color is more blue or more gray in hue? It’s so hard to tell in pictures and videos. Anyhow, just wondering what your feelings were. Thank you!
Thanks for the input gents! I was really drawn to the slate from the get go, as I love the contrast accents of the leather, zippers and interior pockets. I think this bag looks very classy along with the super high quality of Goruck that we love!
The problem is the canvas they use is really light, like 10 oz. This is why some colorways are basically see-through. It can handle the light abuse shown here, but it won't have the long lasting heirloom durability you expect of proper canvas. Especially at the price. We're talking great samples still around from 100+ years ago.

Sorry to necro a 4 month old video… but I have the GR2 Heritage. What field pockets and packing cubes to you recommend? Also for GR1 (normal) please as I will order as soon as they come with a new color (and hopefully top pocket). Been watching a lot of your videos btw, great content that convinced me to get into Goruck for EDC and travel. Cheers
I like the GORUCK field pockets (all sizes from Echo to GR2). I have them all and use them for just about everything. My other favorites are the Evergoods CAP1 and CAP2. For packing cubes I really like the Peak Design ones. Just bought some more!

The Heritage GR2 Heritage is a much better name for it, I bet Goruck adopts it. Extra points for the matching hat, JB. PS I believe the earlier Heritage models were made without stash pockets.
I've been eyeing this bag, in this color, for some time, recently I've seen some less than positive reviews mostly centered on the grade of the canvas, how does it feel, is it lined? I looks sturdy but 10.1 does seem a bit light

@@GYMGUYFE I use the 34L for longer travel trips and the 26L for everyday use or shorter trips so it depends on what you want to do with it

No issues with the thickness in my opinion. Holds up really well...plus it's backed by Scars for repairs...if needed.

On Slate probably coyote. Whatever they can match to the seams.
