I love that. Linda has hustled for 50 years to have her current life. AND has made smart decisions to be where she is today! That's why I like to follow her because she is an inspiration.
Love your channel. I love when you talk about books and other lifestyle subjects in addition to all your garden inspiration. I love how you have transformed the cottage to such a warm, inviting home. All the best in the New Year!
Thank you for your time and effort. I know how people can be cruel. I appreciate your optimistic attitude. It’s so much better when we look for the good things in life thank you for your time and effort.
Linda, I’ve never heard you be braggadocios! You are kind, gracious, grateful, a good steward of what God has blessed you with, and a hard worker with developed delayed gratification traits. All of which inspire me. When you are sad or something is bothering you, you’ve showed segments like the “12 x 12 gardening square” or “ironing napkins in winter to warm you and your spirits.” I like those choices versus lamenting about the specifics of your concern. I for one do not like to repeat my worries, because that always makes me feel worse and slows me down from finding the positive/lesson learned and moving through it. I’m happy to hear you want to travel more with hubs, that’s important and he will really like it also. As we age, I like to hear how you handle physical ailments and share the solutions you have found to make life more comfortable, especially in the garden. Most of us have worked so hard all our lives that it’s confusing when our bodies make us slow down and change the way we were used to doing things. Your garden lessons are always a blessing and lesson reminder for me. So, please repeat as appropriate for the season and task at hand. Perhaps, you could also interview your sister, the Ophthalmologist. Finally, I love these live Q+A’s. Happy Sunday LV Team
I am 71, started a small garden this past spring. You inspired me to do so and I enjoy it so much. I love watching your RUclips show. My husband and I are planning a trip this year and will be going to Oklahoma City.
I’d watch any of your content. You have a gift for making everything you do so interesting…. I would watch your walkabouts through the same garden everyday. We love you guys 🌹
I have NEVER heard you brag! That comment was nonsense! I love your channel. I love the non gardening videos…they are my favorite. I love products, cloths, thrifting, make up….esp love entertaining! You could clean out a drawer and I would watch. I really don’t garden, but I never miss watching your videos because they and you are lovely. Please do a video about memberships….i know nothing about this.
Linda, you are nothing but kind and thoughtful. Don't let people who judge you make you doubt yourself or make you feel that you need to defend yourself. ❤
You are a charming fun woman who enjoys her life and appreciates what has come into it. No bragging just gratefulness is what I’m hearing. It just depends on how you look at life. Hopefully everyone would see their own positives!!! We all have them. I find you very encouraging and positive.❤
I love who you are! Don’t make apologies for your blessings. Be thankful and grateful for God’s gifts. You are such an inspiration. Keep doing what you’re doing.
You are inspiring to me! I love hearing about all you are doing and would hate it if you stopped telling us. You are authentic and relatable. I watch you as an uplifting distraction from life's struggles. I'm looking forward to Stewart's digital instruction.
I loved your garden this year. Especially the red tones in your backyard. Absolutely inspiring. May I be able to take your gorgeous interior and exterior and apply a little bit of that in my own space in 2025.
Oh please, please disregard any negative, insensitive comments that come your way. You are such a joy with all of your topics even with good and not so good outcomes. Life is a work in progress and we learn by doing. It is so nice to hear positive, appreciative experiences even though a person has had some sad times in their life. That is life! It is such a good feeling that person can make lemonade out of lemons. I love all of your experiences sad and delightful!! Keep it up!!
Hi Linda I really enjoy your developing style of content - a mix of gardening and lifestyle feels like reading a great magazine - thank you and warmest wishes x
My word of the year is restoration. Our home flooded with one of the hurricanes we suffered in Florida. We lost mostly everything we are both 72 years old so the recovery and restoration is slow but we are moving forward and coming back. Thank you Linda and Stewart for all you bring to us. I really look forward to each video.❤😘
Thank you for sharing, that is inspirational to hear. "Moving forward and coming back" is wonderful advice I will share with family who also experienced difficulty in 2024.❤🩹🙏
Hey Linda...small world. I just went back and clicked on an older video titled 1885 Home Tour. I love old homes and was shocked to see it's right in my hometown of Fort Wayne. I'm one of 7 kids and my siblings are all spread across the country as well. What a joy to see all yours togeher.
This year I tried growing boxwood basil using the winter sowing method. I’m in zone 5b/6a. Planted in jug on April 9, planted in garden mid May and these plants were going strong all summer. Thanks for making us aware of this wonderful plant. PS: Bought seeds from Burpee online.
Linda, I have been watching your channel for about 12 months now and absolutely adore you and Stewart. I am a carer for my husband who has terminal brain cancer and you are the one thing in my life that has bought happiness and made me find the outdoors and try gardening. I appreciate you both and know that we all have things going on in our lives. Thank you for being you and letting us into your life.
Hello from the PNW! My word is relinquish. Letting go of things I don’t use or truly need; trusting and empowering my team with more decision-making; less fixed mindset/more growth mindset… I’ve got some work ahead of me and I’m ready! ❤
What a charming lady you are Linda & always wanted to see Stewart always wondered what he looked like love his laugh he's a handsome guy there love your Channel ❤
I think you just have to do those things that inspire you and your audience will be inspired! My word for this year is “refresh.” That means literally and figuratively-using what I have in new ways, looking at my home with a new eye, letting my spirit and mind be refreshed-using creativity and ingenuity to do things that brings new life to old things! I have enjoyed following you for that reason!
Thank you Linda for the shout out to those that are dealing with aging parents, suffering a loss and grieving. This Holiday season seems to be particularly surrounded by this. I'm sorry that you had to address the "insensitive" issue. All of us on RUclips look for positivity and beauty to share, so "bragging" about that doesn't make us un-phased or inexperienced in the reality of life, especially for us that are 60+. Yes, those of us on RUclips may have thick skin, but we are all human and we're not trained actors (most anyway) so I hope that anyone that comments will keep it positive and encouraging vs. negative and critical. Love you Linda, you are such an inspiration. I've been watching you for the past year and although I don't garden in your zone, much of what you do in your garden and lifestyle wise resonates with me! 💚🦋💚
Hi Linda and Stewart! What an amazing idea you mentioned (early in this video) regarding a group trip to OKC to see your garden. I love that!!! 👍I've been looking into traveling to OKC, searching for events, things to do & see, and places to stay so my Hubs will enjoy the trip with me while I drag him along to see your garden.😆
Love that you’re wearing your sterling earrings ‘hubs’ gifted you when you were dating! ❤Looking forward to more joy, inspiration and beauty with you, Stewart and team this year. Thanks for today!
I think you are a brave self confident soul!!! Other peoples judgement is not your problem but there’s however it’s really great how gracefully you address this!!! I feel you are a thoughtful caring person and yes you are a visual and find contentment in making your life fulfilling and love the BEAUTIFUL!! Btw STEWART IS SUCH A CUTIE!!!! HE IS A DOLL AND NOT SURE WHY HE HID HIS FACE FOR SO LONG!!! Lol I WANT A STEWART IN MY LIFE HE SEEMS LIKE SUCH A COOL GUY!!! Thanks Linda for all you offer us! I would love to see other videos on real life like “ GET READY FOR THE DAY”” as we age we so need encouragement ideas etc… ❤❤❤❤❤❤
My word or words I should say is "Carpe Diem" I'm going to seize the moments in every day and enjoy more. And having that added to a charm bracelet to remind me. Tonight it's binge watching the fairy tale house vids!
I wanted to use the word "frugal," but that word is used a lot, so I looked up word that was simpler . Came up with the word " prudent- wise in practical things, careful of the result of measures or actions; cautious; discreet; careful for the future. That fit more of what I wanted to do for the year. Thank you for all you do. 😊
I enjoyed watching the playback of this live stream. I’d also enjoy getting ready with me. I also enjoy a variety of content, rather than garden only videos.

Hi Linda, Hi Stewart!!…I’m sorry I missed the Live Airing but I so enjoyed it when all was quiet late in the night…I enjoy all your videos…I miss the old walkabouts in your old garden in the quiet early mornings with the birds chirping…Your voice was like listening to Matthew McConaughey describe it💚… I absolutely love “The Cottage on the Hill” but the old walkabouts were beautiful to me…I watch your old videos often while I work…Perks of working from home on the computer😉…Please pay no mind to ugly comments, they have no place in this community…You are inspiring, intelligent and gracious…love all the content…I purchased the book “The Potted Herb and The Garden in Winter”…Thank you for suggesting them…With it so cold here not much to do outside around the house so I’m sticking with my commitment to read more like I used to instead of scrolling through the phone…Hope you and Stewart along with the family had a wonderful New Year…I’m here for all the Linda Vater I can get💚💚… Came back to add: Oh my word Stewart, I remember when you used to stay silent in the old videos and not let us see you…You are handsome 😊…
I love going back and watching videos of the old garden. I always loved it when you found a plant self sewn and growing and put them in pots to nurture and eventually plant elsewhere in the garden. I am really enjoying propagating from plants I already own to expand my garden and provide repetition which I think the best gardens need. I am anxious to get back to that in spring. My word of the year is - No. I am trying to say no to things I don’t want to do. Things that take lots of my time that I never wanted to do in the first place. Today I cancelled something I had agreed to do that I didn’t want to do and it was really going to make my day hard. Since there were things I needed to accomplish. Early in the day I cancelled letting them know I just could not. I blamed the weather. Normally I always follow through no matter how hard it makes my life. And you know what? It was fine that I cancelled and I was able to get done what I needed. I find I fill my life often doing things others want and nothing that I want making me very frustrated. I am changing that by saying No.
My word for the year is Results. Decluttering, solving challenges, simplifying, healing, continuing onward. It's good to diversify. Gardening flows into art, food, entertaining, loveliness in all forms. Practicality, use of space. I enjoy your videos so very much. Thank you! Happy New Year to you and Stewart❤
Hi❗️Linda & Stewart~~I enjoy your videos so much.. You are a wealth in knowledge!! You always have great & & practical ideas , making it fun !! your fan!!& interesting. So thanks To both of you❣️
Please don’t feel you need to explain your life style. God has blessed you to be a blessing to others by encouraging them and giving them plans to design their gardens which brings so much peace. Enjoy your life . People have to find joy for themselves. Some will never find joy no matter what, so they try to make others unhappy.
I love your great ideas coming soon! I am a Big Fan! Praying that 2025 will bring better health for all. I will Focus on good personal health, foods, etc! I love ya and I enjoy when you share Personal issues! You are so different from other UTubers! You are not pompous! Thank you. I want to hear about everything from head to toes!😄 I would think those who aren’t happy with Ya anymore and who you are, will just say Bye Bye.Hope 2025 will bring less Rudeness! ❤
Linda, I have been following you for at least 5 years, have learned much about gardening and have always felt you are a very sensitive and caring person. If I didn’t feel this way I would just stop following you. So it’s hard to understand when someone lashes out at a utuber. It just seems crazy as no one is making you watch anyone on social media!!! That being said, I love you and keep doing you! ♥️♥️♥️
I’m getting raise beds for Mother’s Day because I’m getting older and health health problems. Can you recommend a type of rage bed that would look good with a Victorian house my house was built in 1850.
Nothing ever "gets old" with you, Linda! You find magic in ordinary days! Always enjoy time with you and Stewart! ❄️❄️❄️

I love it! Prudent is a great word.

Hello from Australia
I don't see you as bragging. I see your love of life and want to share. I think sometimes people want to hurt others if possible.
Hurting others or perhaps their own insecurities, sadly. But I loved how Linda addressed those comments with her unwavering grace and wisdom.❤
Hello Stewart! 👋
Truly beautiful linda
Thank you beautiful
Yep….more live💕💕💕💕💕
Question, Linda will you every come to California to visit the many gardens?David from Rodeo, California
Love A Tree Grows in Brooklyn movie. I am also a Hoosier. Your sis impresses me.
One of my favorite books
Please don’t feel you need to explain your life style. God has blessed you to be a blessing to others by encouraging them and giving them plans to design their gardens which brings so much peace. Enjoy your life . People have to find joy for themselves. Some will never find joy no matter what, so they try to make others unhappy.
