How did she conquer anything. She killed her friend and almost killed herself risking many others by their stupidity

I wonder if she writes that in her book

She didn't kill her friend. They both chose to climb a dangerous mountain and he didn't survive.

The word "conquer" is repeatedly used by people such as yourself when describing the accomplishments of elite mountaineers. No one conquers a mountain. If you get to the summit, the mountain, and Mother Nature, have been kind enough to let you ascend to the zenith and get off the mountain with your life. I have 50 humble summits to my credit, I have fallen into a crevasse once, and I always thank the Mountain for the privilege of getting to the top. As my guides have taught me, it is a numbers game. If you go high enough, long enough, your number may show up. Be humble and careful, always!

      Congrats on your 50 summits.
Mountains are indifferent to the activities of men.
Those who manage to reach a summit can only achieve that when conditions allow.

Is not the Roc Noir on Annapurna? As is the seven kilometer ridge above 27,000 feet?
Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Very precise and accurate. Thank you....I have previously, years ago, read and podcast some podcasts about this climbing and daring rescue operation..Élisabeth Revol had written about it too...Despite her remarquable level and aptitudes, Elizabeth Revol had abandonned high altitude mountainerring challenges, since.

I wish they stop calling it the Killer Mountain that Mountain is being there for ever there’s no reason to call that just because someone with a big ego and lots of money hired Cherpas✌️

he was climbing to get this high, he thought he will get this the natural way and killed himself. if they got him clean and affordable morphium to feel fine, he would be still alive but we are told all the time that you have to quit, even if it kills you

At 11:14 we see a climber (going down) stepping all over fixed ropes with their crampons. Not a good example.

This video makes the claim that they endured temps of -60 celsius ascending to Elizabeth. Well, -60 degrees celsius is -76 degrees fahrenheit. Sorry, not buying it. That is an insanely low temp that this planet rarely sees. To be out hiking around in that kind of cold would be lethal. Sensationalistic journalism - nothing new.

No, he didn't replace his addiction with a passion for climbing. What he did is replace heroin with thrill seeking.

@@kujju18 I'm curious about what you know about addiction? Bcz behavioral addictions (such as thrill seeking, sex, gambling, exercise...) are just as addictive as any substance. And when one source stops giving the necessary results, addicts will find something that does. This event is tragic. Not bcz it's someone was overcoming a moral failing. It's tragic because society still sees addicts as garbage who need punishment.
As Gabor Mate puts it "If negative consequences cured addiction, there would be no addicts".
