I read some internet commentary re: JWs that sums up my experiences exactly: "They get 'em in with hope, and keep 'em in with fear." Discuss.

This arrogance is making people want to do research! Except those who are paralyzed by fear. I remember myself fearing even thinking of looking into anything apostatic! Thank you John, I enjoy your videos.

Great video!!! They try so desperately to spin the truth against those who have turned away from their religion. When all it really is...is another religion. Good work Cedars...

That is absolutely terrifying...either I don't remember or they never spit that serious amount of forceful mind control.."independent thinking is dangerous..." wow. They always said going against the elder and organization was going against god but saying that straight up like that? They really are getting worse in every way.

Great video series John. Good points as always. I don't know how blind JW Defense is when he accuses "apostates" of slander, but he knows he cannot prove their claims as false. Any well seasoned apostate will beat the snot out of their excuses and reasoning. It's so stupid.. If you want to know the truth about the Watchtower, ask the Watchtower.
Heck, I can say that too. If you don't believe me, just ask me!

I like your discussion on this issue. I agree with your premise here. Loving the Wizard of Oz reference. The hypocrisy is very evident. Remember WE have nothing to defend or apologise for, the JW's and fundamentalist believers do.The Watchtower society are doing nothing new in discouraging independent though and it makes sense if they want to maintain the integrity of their philosophy and security of belief in their followers. I'd like to know a bit more about where your coming from an why it matters to you enough to prepare these discourses?

Don't JW's say that the Devil is the biggest slanderer? The WTBTS is being like the "Devil" in being slanderers without any proof. Great video Cedars!

Wt forbids independent thinking even if that thinking supports them... simply unbelievable. In the end JWDefense is trying to defend the undefendible.
Great work, thanks for the vid.

John.Once again you have proved the hypocrisy that is WTBTS.The Anthony Morris III speech was placing the Organisation at par with God or the mouth piece of God.Ultimate in hypocrisy,I think. The sheer arrogance of this man is breath taking.I suppose that is the WT equivalent of Humility!!!! Loved the video. Regards,Arnold.

I like the fact that the Watchtower society is so afraid of "apostates". I grew up in fear an now they are afraid of me... It is the best therapy ! By the way, thanks for your deep researches and accurate comments.

1 John 4:1 seems pretty cleat question people even when they claim to come from God. Blind faith in human leaders is dangerous.

Seems to me JW defense is seeking his own followers/subscribers. Apparently he doesn't think the WBTS's counsel applies to him. He should pay attention to what Anthony Morris said at 8:16 "When you know the truth, you'd better want somebody LIKE god telling you what to do."

Spent 37 years of my life and converted lots of people to this group. The truly intelligent people (in my view) do not dogmatically subscribe to any philosophy or religion, i.e. John Lennon, Mark Twain, George Carlin, etc. Everytime I hear the term "independent thinking" I wonder what that is. Is there any other kind?

I think it's very compelling that JWDefense at no time has said "However, it could be that these apostates may come across a credible issue with our doctrine or past that can give rise to a conscious objection." No Governmental authority is perfect. If you look hard enough, you will see the plotholes.
Personally, I think it is not possible to read the Gospel of John in an authorized Bible and remain a JW. At least not a practicing one...

Not only did the WT call him a criminal, they also said "he has some poor decision making" skills. "mentally diseased"? Haha. Welcome to the world of apostates JWDefense. Welcome to the club.

I'm finding that a lot of apologetic claims and attacks on the out-group mentioned by "JW defence" to be EXTREMELY similar to what we hear from Evangelicals.

The voice of JW defense sounds kind of familiar to me. It definitely sounds filtered, but the voice reminds me of Letusreason1234. Anybody remember his videos? It may not be, but the second I heard the voice that's who I thought of. Maybe it's just me though.

First time I read the Revelation book at age 19, I thought it was amazing and was proof of them being selected.
Reading it again at age 21 for the Bible Book Study, I noticed it was a pile of crap.

Do you think GOD is having a hand in them making themselves look foolish and deceitful.Because everything they write or say appears to be talking about themselves as far as i can see.

I have thought this very exact thing...how do they really expect anyone with a brain to stay on board? Remember the points about God drawing out honest hearted people, and all that? The WT jumped the shark a long time ago ...
