As much as I’m so stoked to see Vinnie back, I’m not as stoked to hear this band. I’ll get chewed out for even making this comment but in my musical opinion they sound terrible. I know, I know it’s all in good fun. Yes Vinnie is a little older and a little slower so none of them r up to far. Nobody is perfect, not even the best of them. Like I said, I’m just so happy to see Vin hit the stage again I don’t care who he’s playing with.
Great seeing Vinnie in full make-up. Not playing solos sucks. Definitely seemed out of practice, we'll see if he ever does anything else. Would have loved to have been there. Even more had ACE came up and played the songs too. Todd's voice was still pretty good. Couldn't hit some of the crazy Paul Stanley notes, but did OK.
He still has a great ear for music. Cold Gin isn't evens song, and without looking at the other guitarist and after listening he picked up the riff from the breakdown just fine. People are who claim to be experts faced to recognize that the dude has been out of guitar shredding for decades, and as he get his hands back into the groove, he will be just fine.
Big fuggin deal. If he doesnt know Cold Gin after touring w Kiss idk wtf to say.. No one would care about him being rusty if he would stop hyping himself up, and then not showing etc after charging astronomical ticket prices to see him.. For what? If you cant play the instrument anymore then sit the fuck down, practice, and come talk to us when you can at least play halfway like you used to.
bottom line - he does practice Ive been a musician for over 30 years and saw a dramatic change in my abilities after taking off just 1 year you cant go cold for 30 years and come back knowing how to "shred" anymore - those muscles have unfortunately atrophied

I almost think he has arthritis. His knuckles appear to be enlarged. He did, however do some decent jazz chording when he played acoustic at the Q and A.

I feel sad for him when I read some comments... But for me, he is still the super guitarist and songwriter that he was ! Life has been hard and he did some mistakes... We can't change this..... I am not entirely convinced that wasn't Rosie O'Donnell playing the part of VV...The level of skill with that guitar was beyond amateur, even if a guy hadn't played for 50 years. If that was VV, judging by that, the way he looks so unhealthy and the sadness that seeps from every pore, the only reason for doing any of this is to rip off some more money.
you can tell the difference between his playing and reg players he could play the song while asleep, the guy asked if he could do the leads but he is a novice no matter how long he has been playing , not right sound feel or anything
His own signature double V.. I believe Carvin built this particular one looking at the inlays, ect... The original ones were made by Jackson, then he had ones made by Carvin , Ibanez , Washburn and Pear but only for his personal use..
