Exactly what I was looking for! I am working with fairly thick upholstery fabric as a back/binding and really wanted to remove the bulk. Thank you for such a great, straight forward, clear tutorial!

Thanks so much! I’m doing mitered corners on baptismal napkins made of old fine linen. The finished hem is 1/4” and this method worked perfectly for me.
Thank you so much for these instructions. I do a lot of formal alterations and this technique comes in quite handy. Do you also have a video showing how to finish off the bottom of a invisible zipper in a dress so there is no bump or hole?
So glad you found it useful :) Sorry for the late reply - I'm afraid I don't have a video on that, but I'm sure there must be a video out there ...'Professor Pincushion' may have one.
Thank you :) Not sure what the issue could be without seeing, but make sure any corners you cut are square, and double check any measurements and markings.

The instruction is so clear. I tried to do the same but my corners are not equal. I wonder where i went wrong.
Thank you :) Not sure what the issue could be without seeing, but make sure any corners you cut are square, and double check any measurements and markings.
Great!
Thanks!
You said you ticked a Half inch in, but you only turned the edge of the fabric under a 1/4 of an inch. Is this correct?
Hi! I folded the fabric over 1" from the edge and then 1/4" from the edge :)
Thank you for the great and simple teaching. I have a question. What are the dimensions used in both fabrics?
Thank you :) The patterned white fabric piece was 18.5" x 13.5". The lining was approx. 16" x 11" (or a little smaller).
❤ tq
What is the measurements for the rectangle fabric? :)
It's 18.5 x 13.5" :)
What kind of fabric is this?
It's a woven cotton from IKEA. Fairly sturdy, medium weight :)
