Great job, Marty! The BP livery does indeed look great on that Ford. As a matter of fact I did the same last year on my channel. I switched the livery of the Dodge and the Ford around. The rear utility floors of the Ford and the Dodge actually have exactly the same dimensions and the decals are interchangeable without any problems. I did however have to keep my head focused and be careful not to accidentally paint them in the right colours. 😀
My late Mother was a great fan of Kevin, and we watched all your vids together. This is the first of your vids I have watched without her, so I'm watching this in her memory. Thanks for many happy memories, and many laughs.
Marty, you may never see this but I just had to say thank you. I found your channel a couple of years ago and watching the love you have for your hobby really reignited a long lost passion I had for miniature painting. So after a 20 year hiatus, I’ve been painting again and love every minute of it. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the content you have provided us over the years.
Moin and G'day from Cuxhaven 👋🏼 Well... This is an episode that pleases everyone 😃 A great conversion of an excellent model, a new housemate (greetings to Smudge 👍🏼😺) And... The legendary headlines on the newspaper in the paint booth 😂👍🏼👍🏼 After all, I do model conversions myself and all I can say is: Good onya mate 👍🏼🤩 So here we have a "Marty Conversion" 😆 (My mates downunder 🇦🇺 and the good ol' U.S. of A. 🇺🇸 call my specials "Sparky Conversion" 😂) A terrific idea to paint the Ford wrecker in a BP version. Not only is it the only one in the world.... It also looks downright stunning and fits perfectly with the other BP models. 🤩👍🏼 Thanks so much for sharing, Marty 🙏🏼 from me, definitely a thumbs up for this 👍🏼 Stay safe and sound and keep up the good work, mate 😁 Greetings from the lighthouse end of the Elbe River from the DCcoB (Die-Cast crazy old Bloke) 😎👍🏼🇦🇺✌🏼🇩🇪👍🏼🤠 (P.S. Greetings to Australia's most koalafied ambassador, KEVIN 🐨)
Wonderful build!! It fits perfectly in the BP family of rigs you refurbished. I like the idea of customs that retain that Lesney feel to them. That gives you a ton of freedom to keep moving forward
It's nice to have you back. I constantly check your channel to watch your latest makeover. I'am grateful since with your MMM activity and videos you got me back in to the Matchbox and the diecast passion. Generally I prefer original restorations, but this custom version looks to me a success! Ciao from Italy.
Care with the hands Marty.. I had the same problem decades ago when working around solvents.. SO glad to have you back with a really fun makeover. It looks great in BP, totally right! By the way, after seeing your success with Mr Color and Tamyia acrylics, I am now transitioning my model railroad airbrushing to them... and getting great results. Many thanks for that!
Beautiful job. Looks like what Matchbox should have made. Glad to see you do another one. Been a while your last one. Hope you and Julie are doing well. And Kevin.
Glad to see you creating and restoring my favorite toys from my childhood. I had many examples of Matchbox vehicles. I totally agree, the old ones are the best work they did. Keep up the good work.
That turned out to be lovely Marty. Incidentally a small channel called Belgian Diecast Restorations did the livery swap of both the 13d and 71c models simultaneously a few months ago. It's always interesting to see how different people tackle the same projects in their own way.
Good morning, Marty! What a great transformation into a BP colored wrecker. Can't wait to see what you do next! Great to see you! Hope you and Julie (and Kevin) are well and doing fine. Pat Smudge on the head and enjoy the rest of the week doing whatever projects you're working on. God bless.
Turned out great and looks good with the rest. I did a No 12 Land Rover to match the Stalwart. Possibly Esso and BP where willing to have a licensing agreement with Matchbox but didn't wish to share any vehicles.
I had the Ford wrecker when I was a kid. I got it as a premium from Quaker Life cereal. Eat the cereal, save the boxtops, send a couple in with some change (or maybe just boxtops) and you get the truck. Pop ate Life cereal every day, so I wound up with 2 of these. I don't know, though, that "heavy wrecker" was Matchbox's designation, or Ford's. @4:33 That was the nickname of a kid on our street-"Hey, Mushroom Head!" @9:18 Yeah, I winced when you took those pliers to the piece. I thought to myself, "Put some tape on those jaws! Or a scrap of cloth!" Beautiful finish, Marty! I look forward to your next project!
If I'm not mistaken the original truck was a F650, which makes it a heavy truck. :) Apparently MB adjusted the scale to the wheel sizes to make them look in proportion.
Oh, great. Now we have the curious cat to complement the mischievous koala to distract & upset me while I'm trying to enjoy Marty's usually calming work. Well, I guess we've all got our crosses to bear. 😒😼🐨
glad to see your vids again. by the look of your hands you do more hard labour now than before you retired...hope you can find time for the hobby, and the time to show us...thnx marty
Happy you are back. Hope you are still enjoying this hobby. Looking forward to the alternative paint stripper experiment. However I suspect your old reliable Poly stripper will win out as usual.
I have 3 of the No 61s. I enjoy them 1 needs a restoration the other 2 just need cleaned up. This channel is great and miss the videos but I understand we all have normal life's then creating videos all the time. It's relaxing just restoring and bringing stuff back to life.
HOW AWESOME IS THIS!!!! G'Day to ya there Marty! Hope you and julie and kevin are doing well. Great to see another vid from you. A brilliant end to very long and tiring day for me.
Great work as always Marty . Done so right . The B P Tow Truck is my favorite casting for Matchbox . I have a few of them in all conditions . Great finish on this one . Mike Espo.
Brilliant idea to go BP , the yellow transformation made all the details come alive" better than the original red, it totally makes the showcase complete,,,great job,!
We Are All Happy About That, Another FANTASTIC Restoration. We Missed You Marty !!!
Agreed 100%
YES
Yessss😃👍👍👍
I always get a kick out of reading the Weekly World News headlines in the paint booth. Bonus entertainment!
Great job, Marty! The BP livery does indeed look great on that Ford. As a matter of fact I did the same last year on my channel. I switched the livery of the Dodge and the Ford around. Thank you for the absolutely amazing restoration! I wanted to make sure I updated after your whole restoration!! 👍👌
My late Mother was a great fan of Kevin, and we watched all your vids together. This is the first of your vids I have watched without her, so I'm watching this in her memory. Thanks for many happy memories, and many laughs.

You are so welcome RRG!
Please show
That's a really cool result. Putting both wreckers next to each other, both in the BP theme, you can appreciate how different the models are.
Nice build, details and paint job 👌 👍

Hello from a dull UK.That's a super code 3,Marty.All you need now,is the 8 wheel ergo cab tanker to complete your line up.
When I was little I would have done anything for that model... I still recall that childish feeling of desire, even today
That turned out really nice!
Always a great day when I find a new MMM video available!
