looks like the nikon's pictures and video were more sharp. the batteries are gonna be irritating though (even though it has better battery life with batteries than the canon does)
i had the cannon sx510 its a great little camera an takes amazing pictures it doesnt have all the fancy features as its big brothers an other big cameras but you dont really need all that stuff if your not a perfectionist.
The Nikon and canon are the two cameras I was comparing but didn't know what one to get. I spent all day comparing them but watched this and I've decided I'm going for the canon.

Hi, Thanks for your review.I was looking fora a super zoom camera that is user friendly as well. My focus was shifting between Canon SX510 and Nikon L830. I had almost finalized on Nikon L830 because of its tillable screen an the 16MP sensor. Anyway from your review it is clear that Canon SX510 has an upper hand when it comes to focus and responsiveness. Also the light weight and small size make it a good travel companion. I heard that Nikon L830 does not have a manual focus option as in Canon SX510- is it true?

Sumie Pi Well I don't know too much about the canon so I couldn't speak on that one, for the Sony h400 it's alright to start off with , it's not a DSLR so it's not the best, I kind of regret getting it but I'm stuck with it until I can purchase a canon t5i.. I don't know about you but I'm picky when it come to taking great photos , don't get me wrong the Sony h400 take great photos but it could be better is all I'm saying .. Go with ur gut feeling lol

Not a huge fan of point and shoots. I'd suggest you invest in an entry level DSLR like Canon Rebel T3i (you could buy a second hand DSLR as well).
How do you actually do all these tricks with the nikon l830?

Yazziemariaaa Well it's mostly you're choice but the mp, if it is at or higher than 16 you're fine, it's doesn't make a huge difference. The nikon is also on sale for $180, from $300. Also, the Nikon does kind of have better autofocus as seen in videos and you can just search "nikon coolpix l830 sample images."
is the cannon worth getting just for the 30x zoom? and do other cameras normally have that kind of zoom?
+Go Farts Normal cameras don't have the kind of zoom that these cameras have. The cameras in this video are classified as "superzoom".
But if zoom is the only factor your looking for, the canon wasn't even the strongest of the three in this video. For superior zoom I would actually recommend the Nikon P900. The zoom on that camera is is unnecessarily strong.

+Hoàng Thông Dương The Sony will be the best for shooting in low light. Both the Canon and Nikon will be ok in low light conditions, but nothing to write home about.

My selection was based on the feel, user interface and ease to understand everything about the camera. There were things about the nikon and the sony I loved but personally I liked the Canon SX 510 overall.

Hi shane, qck question, Betwet those 3, wich one wuold u recomend for wild life photography? meaning, better for quick moves and fats moving creatures. and at the same time could alowed me to stay away and zoom in whit the same quality as beeing right next to the animal.

Definitely the sx510. It's a better camera across the bord, and it's not much more expensive than the 410. Hope that helps!

Sony win it for me cause 63x zoom and it seem to have very good colors over the Nikon Canon.
Sorry I go with the Sony. The Canon doesn´t have a wiev finder. So it is much harder to shoot with in bright sun light, comparing to the Sony

Ok. (Cough) You cannot take of the lenes an add a different one. This is only for travel journeys and it's very good. This is not a DSLR. A DSLR is a professional camera which you can take off the lens and add new ones. The L830 isn't a DSLR but is really good and light. As a first Camera I recommend getting the Nikon Coolpix L830.

Does anyone know how to do the slow motion with the canon??
First you must goto Video mode. Then press the Func.SET button (the middle button), after that you will get a menu from side choose the Camcoder Icon and choose the Running man Icon. After that you can scroll down and choose the fps (240 or 120) I recommend using 120fps
