just like the digital rev days, great stuff!
Almost! They did‘t set the drones on fire tho!
DigitalRev days were much more fun
Without Alambi? No way near.
Where are the models?
@@tsizzle Without Alamby, without Hong Kong, without crazy city life, it’s just 2 Asian guys with weird and poor English. No one would watch them if not for the old fans
Was ready for a jump scare when I was watching the car drive around . Old PTSD 😂
Mini 3 Pro overheating I believe is simply down to the fact that it doesn’t have a fan built in for active cooling, to keep it under 250gm.
It uses the air passing around it/through it during normal flight for this - so when flying you shouldn’t ever run into an type overheating issue - even when hovering.
(Bit like some sharks 🦈 (apparently?) gotta keep it moving*).
Never had it overheat, we're talking full battery usage and three batteries in one day! Only time it overheated was when it was on my table transferring files...
Re overheating: I use a ps4 cooling fan I got on Temu
yeah it never overheats if it's moving, even if hovering for hyperlapse. only when you don't have it in the air. @@forgedsanity2916
this brings back memories when i first started my camera hobby. Love it!
He’s back like he never left.Back in the day we would not buy a camera unless they did a non review , review on it.
9:50 BMW driver here, we have to drive like that, because when people see a BMW, we like them to think, "oh here comes a BMW, it is probably going to do some BMW things". So no matter how I drive in my BMW no one gets surprised. Which is great. Actually I should say, it was great because, sadly, especially in US, our name and fame is taken by a newcomer, the utterly entitled Tesla drivers. I've never seen such schmuckery in traffic and I'm saying that as a BMW driver. So now we're trying even harder to get our title back.
Thanks Bros. Kai standing in a drone swarm was cool.
I won't be changing from my Air 2s until they show the possiblity of a air 3s/pro with 8k and higher 4k frame rates. I think its time to hold tough and not to give into new and shiny when rumors of a Mini 4 isn't far away
We just hold the Mini Pro to take off. Took this thing hiking and fishing in Wyoming. Definitely recommend it for someone that packs already a lot of gear with them!
Should we be expecting a Air 3s or equivalent? Tempted to by the Air 3 but also at the same time might be worth waiting for a potential upgraded version.
Im in bits LOOl the bmw behind him part hahaha
Charging batteries with batteries = infinite power! 😄 Good comparison, didn't get confused between them at all.
I think if DJI released the Air 3 with the following specs.
1. One inch variable aperture sensor.
2. The ability to change the horizontal and vertical position of the camera (as on mini 3 pro)
3. Air 2S weight and dimensions
4. New remote control, new communication system.
In my opinion, this would be the best drone for creativity.
What do you think?
I think they know that, and don't want you to have it all in one drone. I think they want max $$, duh.
def not cuz they'd be killing their mavic series with that lol
@@edward7282
I think the Mavic line will not suffer much, since the mini weighs 249g and I will take it only for this reason. Mavic 3 has a 4/3 sensor, it is designed more for the horizontal 16/9 format. Now, on the contrary, the Air is almost the same as the Mavic 3.
Thanks Kai and Lok. Why don't you hand launch and land?
It took me like 6 years to finally re find your kai. I miss your stuff. last watched you on digital rev when i was studying photography. You were a popular voice speaking out truths in an industry full of bullshit. Cheers for the video
Great seeing you guys back, good entertainment value but as a review, I didn't get a solid conclusion. I'd appreciate more tracking comparisons (active tracking of humans, for example, checking for tree avoidance) and also for side-by-side comparisons and graded/ungraded and range comparisons.
Some people are getting put off by the sensor size..but most reviewers are not talking about how this is a "stacked" sensor..smaller in size but better in performance..if you know your cameras which I know the Bokeh Bros do...haha "stacked" sensors are way better in reading data hence better quality..Kai thanks for mentioning the "stacked" sensor..you and another reviewer are the only people that actually has mentioned it!!..thanks for that!..
I don't think the sensor is stacked. It's using a quad Bayer array (48mp - 12mp) just like the mini 3 pro or the 70mm lens on the mavic 3 pro. They all share the same sensor, but the air 3 will look better than the mini 3 pro because of improvements on the image processing side.
@@dylan-vc9te yes but thats part of it..being "stacked" not just a "improved image processor".."stacked" sensor has the "pixel area" in the front, then a a middle component that has a high speed signal processing circuit and then finally your "image processing engine"..all working together to be a "stacked" sensor..and the read out is much quicker..
@@dylan-vc9te 51 Drones mentioned it on his "review" here.ruclips.net/video/EXhfDDAv-N4/видео.html at the 3:10 mark they talk about it.
Man, good to see you posting again! Have watched you since i got my old Canon 70D back in the day and lost track for a bit ;) cheers
Already have the mavic 3 Pro and still love my air 2s, now im looking for a smaller footprint so im getting the mini 3 pro drone only
I'm thinking of buying the Mini 3 pro, seems like great cost performance
Same man, I will buy it too. Air 3 is just not worth it when you look at the price.
@@novax7176Air 2S is only a bit more than Mini 3 Pro... I'd go for 2S for better image quality and D-log!
I have the mini3pro so happy I got this one. It's got everything else. The sensors are fine It's been over 90° for the last couple of weeks where I live and it never overheated. That was his fault for not hitting " Don't show again" for auto tracking. Mine works well.
Also, the last and most important point is it's 249 g. You don't need a FAA license, you only need to take a test as a hobbyist. This opens you up to many more places/things. Although it does have a remote ID as stipulated by all new drones, I don't understand why because it doesn't need it if it's under the limit.
Depending on where you live by your DJI drones now they're already not allowing them in the public sector because they don't trust the Chinese company that makes them!!
Not every country has the same draconian laws we have in the Uk. Line of sight is not a requirement in all countries.
Kai still going strong. Good job my old entertainer.
Dang, was hoping for a comparison to the Air 2s...
OMG ITS KAI
When I started my photography journey there you were makin me wanna but a 5D mark ii and now that I wanna drone, look who it is. Amazing
This is gonna take u way back>Remember during the Huawei days you were at 1 of their booths for launch event... And you had one cute sales rep who waved you bye from behind while u vlogged away and we all fell in love with her vibes. Yeah I just saw her picture on Samsung Canada poster.
Is it worth upgrading from a mini 2? Looking for a bigger drone that is better than the mini 2
This just randomly popped up in my news feed. Not even on RUclips. On my Android swipe left news feed. And I saw that name of this channel and I was like wait a minute. So of course I had to click in. And now look who it is! The old gang back together again. This is so fun! Plus I am interested in drones so this is pretty cool.
Great comparison. Thanks for the vid 🤙
All the active track experiments I’ve seen the drone is very far away. More interesting would be is tracking within 5-10ft of object. Like can it closely follow an object through something really tight (like a mountain bike through trail).
If DJI just created a 1" or bigger sensor single lens that has same vertical mode as mIni3 pro with better image quality and higher frame rate with proper LOG profile they would have struck GOLD
Great for Film makers and also content creators of the world today
Each one brings something unique to the table, catering to different needs and budgets. It's like having a fleet of aerial wonders to pick from! 🌟📸 #DJIComparison
But which one is more effective against a T-54?
I have to say, you guys made a cool video and are so funny and interesting at the same time. Kudos to you!
As a pro, not having d log in that air 3 tele lens means it’s not a choice between mavic 3 or the air at all. Now, once they fix that with firmware it’s on!
Can you clarify what you mean? I saw in the specs that then wide angle and medium tele lens both have HLG/D-Log M: 10-bit 4:2:0 (H.265)
Experienced heating issues with my Mini Pro 3, even when stored in the fridge! Thankfully, DJI promptly replaced it without any hassle. 😅
I understand the air 3 has 2 "stacked" sensors but they're much smaller, are they as good in low light as the Air 2s was (with the 1-inch sensor)? Yes - the air 3 is faster, more maneuverable, with a longer flight time and better range - but how does the camera really stack up (specifically in low light situations like dawn or dusk)?
Is very good as long as you use DLOG-M with max ISO and make then a denoise with Neat or Topaz.
Night Mode is not so good, as is killing many details if is used at close range.
Videos like these bring back emotions
The FIMI X8 pro was missing to complete the comparison between DJI and FIMI drones.
13:23 could be the better processor in the rc 2 … I wonder how the drone would do tracking with the phone and the the rcn1 with the mavic 3 pro
That's what I was thinking. I use my phone and feel like the lag on the app is there but not as bad as it seemed in the video. It also doesn't interfere with the tracking, only with the display when starting tracking.
The comparison should have been made with the RC Pro controller.
Interesting video, it would be even better to see the video quality comparison of these drones in low light, and unfortunately, the Mavic 3 Pro does not work well with the DJI RC, there are many complaints about this, which is strange, since the Mavic 3 original works perfectly fine with DJI RC.
What are the complaints?
I’ve been looking for a drone now off and on for a couple of years now. Have still yet to pull the trigger on one. Can you explain why the screens on the controller are placed on the bottom, rather than on the top. It just seems to me that you would lose some of your screen vision because of hand placement.
glad I got the mini pro 3 on a good deal on prime day and didn't wait for the Air 3.
Which is a bigger drone mavic 3 pro or air 3 same size , excluding the camera
Great job on the video folks! Thanks for making it.
Hilarious intro....I have the Air2S and it doesn't seem like all these newer models really offer anything super duper extra.
The image quality of the Mini 3 pro is a dealbreaker. The missing Tripod mode on the way better Air 2S is one, too. So a Little bit impossible to get a good drone under 1k. The Air 2S has such a great picture quality that it is the best drone of all compared to the price on eBay. Incredible, but this might be the reason DJI isn’t adding 1 m/s to this drone, because with this feature no pro would consider an Air 3, Mavic 3 etc because the video quality of the Air 2S is top notch. But for professional work with the fast cone mode and the short controller sticks, it is not an alternative. So right now, after crashing my air 2S, there is no drone matching all my needs under 1k. Like I said, a tiny firmware update at the Air 2S and this one would beat every other drone, I am sure, that’s why they won’t implement it. Even after Phillip Bloom opened an petition. They only implemented it for the Mini 3 pro.
Fantastic comparison, Kai! This video really helps break down the differences between these DJI models. Your insights and detailed analysis make it much easier to choose the right one for individual needs. Thanks for putting this together! 🚁🎥 #DJIComparison
If you could get the Classic combo + RC for EUR 1.8K or the Air3 combo + RC2 for EUR 1.5K which one would you prefer?
At timestamp 0:15... i was anticipating for Kai to rise his hands up in the air and followed by all the drones flying upwards....
Now you're going to have to throw the Mini 4 Pro into the comparison Kai.
You could use the 4 build in ventilators to cool that drone down?!?
Buy DJI mini 3 pro or air 3?????? Pick one for me please!
If you have the mini 3 pro I don’t see the need for air 3 with the same sensor. I would buy the air 2s again (rip) before the air 3
I have the mini 3 Pro and if I was going to buy another drone now, that would be the Air2s 😁 For superior photos and wind resistance 😎
I'm waiting for my Air 3. It should be here Wednesday. I'm in New Mexico.
I think upgrading from Air 2s to Mavic 3 series is better 🤔
Upgrade to the mini 3 pro, it's more than capable. The larger drones are not worth it unless you need the absolute best.
QQQ: Are drones still a thing for non-pros? I haven't even seen them at weddings for years.
Hey Kai, nice to see you again. I was wondering if you have or could make some tutorials of using the mini 3 pro (or any of the drones you showcased today), like some flying tips with especially the photography part. I am both an amateur drone pilot and photographer, and combining both at the same time can be quite a challenge. To be honest I've been using the auto mode of the video recording but I know I should set it on manual.
The only thing Kai can teach you is how to destroy it 🤭😁😂
"Line of sight" police come out and arrest you if you, all of a sudden, can't see your drone. Be careful out there.
Great job, I can't thank you enough.
Feels like a throwback to the digital rev days lol
Air 3 is the best bet. You get the two most used lenses: 24mm and 70mm. The 7x is useless. Horrible color science. Soft. No log. It’s lugging a useless sensor/lens. Also keep in mine, D-Log M has a base 100 ISO where D-Log is 400 ISO
Mavic 3 Cine or Mavic Air 3?
man i like this channel so much :)
I can't believe you guys were at Box hill, hahaha
What's that squiggly line on the road?
😮I own the Mavic Air 2S (pro work) and the Mavic Mini 3 Pro (IG/RUclips).
And I fly recklessly on an Air 2(for fun/photography).
Im trying to decide between the Air 3 or the Mavic 3 Classic.
I enjoy the characteristics of the Air 2S with its better video image quality, control, and speed. Its just an all around great drone. And I love it.
I also enjoy the portability of the Mini 3 pro and the vertical filmming. So I carry that one around mostly and use indoors, plus vertical. Only one battery too. Forces me to practice withthe other two.
I'm particular to better image quality but I also like the 2nd camera on the new air 3. Gives more versatility in creativity.
I guess the question is...
the jump in image quality good enough on the Air 3 from the Air 2S (including on the 2nd camera).
*The vertical is cool too!
OR
is the Classic undeniably better looking and the controlable aperture more pro.
I feel like unless I'm shooting a funded film, I can get away with the Air 3 footage for anything, including professional work (real estate, short films, etc).
Any insights anyone? Feel free to jump in if you own the Classic or Air 3.
I love the Mini size, I love the Air size, but realistically the Mavic 3 isn't really that big either.
Please help.
I'm most likely gonna sell the Air 2. Use the Air 3/Classic for pro work, the mini for IG/RUclips, and fly the Air 2S reckless and for photography.
Hit me.
The biggest problem is without an adjustable aputure you will have to use ND filters. Ok so what? The two lens are different max aputure. Ok so what? Your exposure will be different when you switch between lens. Ok so what? You will have to either adjust ISO or land and adjust your ND filter. Super annoying.
Mini 3 Pro is fantastic. But not optical zoom makes it very limited. In retrospect I should I gone for a most expensive model.
the thing that really bugs me about DJI drones - every generation, every model or submodel has a different controller, different battery, different battery hub design. It's a really big turn off for anyone hoping to build some sort of DJI ecosystem.
Can you gentlemen review the Zero Zero robotics Hover 2 4k drones?
Does anyone know what backpack Kai is using?
Where is the location
Please do review on DJI Osmo Action 4 Adventure Combo
Good review but why does everyone keep hearing the miniseries to the air and the Maverick series their different drones
I am just waiting for the Nikon Zf video to be uploaded in a few hours :) I know you have the camera Kai!!!!
I would like to place an order
Can i get mushroom fried rice, sweet and sour spare ribs, chicken chow mein, jardoo chicken wings and vegitabe beef with almond
The AIR 3 makes no sense. It's an boring "Mavic lite" ...too big/heavy for a "just in case drone" with a too small sensor (the same like the Mini 3 Pro) to use it as a professional.
DJI should go back to the roots of the original AIR and give us a portable, agile ~430g adventure/action drone with a lot of fast AI track/follow me functions.
Such a drone is totally missing in the portfolio of DJI.
I would have loved to see a bit faster, more durable, smarter, Action drone than the Mini 3 Pro where you can feel that DJI was limited by the 249g.
Now I'm staying with the Mini 3 Pro for sure.
Hi. How is the m3p in the wind? I've seen videos, but they seem to be more inclined to show the drone is not going to crash rather than showing it is useful at 30kph or 50 winds .
@@dan5g931 for it's size its quit ok. But If you want to film kite surfers in the wind you should look for a more heavy drone like the AIR or Mavic
I found this video a few days ago. Finally get a chance to watch it today. After looking forward to it since I found it, I have to say I am utterly disappointed. In fact, I actually know less about these DJI drones than I did before.
Very entertaining video. You guys make a good team.
This video took time great job
I’m more confused after watching this video. Well done guys 😅😅
Nice opening shot
Superb review! As always from you guys. One request for the next review: please also compare the image quality while taking photos (since this new drones now take really good 48mp pics this could be interesting to many viewers!).
thanks, still considering if I need a new DJI (mavic) or Air in my life. Originally bought the Mavic 2016 when it was the first of it's kind. Still have it and not use it a lot. I guess the remote with integrated bright display is really convenient. I thought the 7x lens is cool - but the quality makes it just be a gimmick. The 4/3rds Hassel would be nice - but the Air3 look more than good enough for half the money.... greets from Austria, Mario
Air3 sensor is only 12 MP and just 1/1.3 inches. A downgrade from Air2s's 20 MP and 1 inch sensor.
Those 48 MP are made artificially by software just like mini 3 series.
@@fendrou that would be a little dissapointing since photography aspect is interesting to me. Where did you read that the 48mp are by software (with sensorshift or some sort of magic?) on their webpage the state "effective pixels: 48 mp" - that would be really misleading marketing then...
"Weitwinkelkamera: 1/1,3-Zoll-CMOS, Effektive Pixel: 48 MP
Mittlere Telekamera: 1/1,3-Zoll-CMOS, Effektive Pixel: 48 MP"
I flew a pro first ver for 3 years no problems ever. Only 4 sensors. 2 front and 2 bottom.
I would have loved to see a compact but a bit faster, more durable, smarter, more action/adventure focused drone than the Mini 3 Pro were you can feel that DJI was limited by the 249g.
Now I'm staying with the Mini 3 Pro for sure.
The Mini 3 Pro is a marvel for being a drone that's under 259 and competes directly in price, performance and weight against the bigger drones.
@@forgedsanity2916 Yes, but you can feel everywhere that DJI had to look at that 249g limit. I would have loved to see with the AIR 3 again a small drone but without that limitation 😍
@@patfish3291 You can feel it in the quality but you cannot feel it in the performance, which is to be expected. The performance is the once thing they did not skimp on
@@forgedsanity2916 they could have build in a faster processor. But without a vent it was not possible 🤔
How often did you have DLS when tracking the Car??? Be careful the Drone Police are checking social media to prosecute pilots.. it didn’t help that you pointed out it was illegal to fly beyond direct line of sight!!!
Just missing Mavic 3 cine 😂 but great video! ❤
is that a british english chinese accent?? man that’s so awesome
You guys are great! Keep it up.
Am I the only one stressing that you would step on one of those drones laid out on the floor 😂
Looks like Box Hill?
If you have enough budget, then the combination of mini 3 pro + air 3 + mavic 3 pro, is the best decision.
Actually I would argue the Air2S would be better than the Air3 for such a kit as you can pair all three with the RC Pro controller.
Awesome review! Thank you.
Kept waiting for the crunch of a drone under foot. 😅
The old parrot anafi drone from 2018 seems to be more consistent in tracking 🙄
Yup, DJI def needs better product naming scheme.

thank you for the comparison

Air 3 not Mavic Air 3. You need to update the title
LOL Kai did it again! Fixed now, thank you for pointing that out!
