There are still limitations on the Mavic 3 Pro when using that 70 mm lens. It won't let you pick that lens for slow motion it won't shoot 4K 120 or 1080p 200 FPS like the Air 3. It also won't let you use that lens in Master shots or quick shots or night mode on both lenses like on Air 3. I also hope they fix this with a firmware update very very soon.

Hi, Jake. The Mavic 3 Classic gets the C1 Label. I believe the flight time between the Classic and the Air 3 is pretty much the same. Also, The Mavic 3 Classic doesn't have the 3x issue at night where the Mavic 3 Pro loses that feature as well as the 2.8 aperture to 11 and can do the adjustment in both 1x and 3x. The Air 3 is limited to a 1.7 aperture setting so you get a more color discoloration because that is a lot for the Air 3 camera to pick day and night. Not a bad thing, but that has been pretty much the history of the Air lineup. I love my Air 2s, but since I recently got the DJI Mavic 3 Classic it has suddenly found itself just sitting in its case. I hate saying this, "But I am thinking of selling it now, because the Mavic 3 Classic is the perfect replacement for that drone." Thank you for the video, Jake! Love your comparison here. Was a much better one than other videos I have seen, that just seemed more focus on getting the upsell of the Air 3.

I think they will continue to improve the mavic 3 series but the Air 3 is at such a great price point unless you specifically need features of the Mavic 3 the Air 3 makes more sense
I upgraded from Mavic mini to Air3. Everything is just PERFECT. I love this drone so much. Been having some issues on photos/videos appeared to be out of focus on both 24/70mm lenses and hopefully the new update today addresses that
Dang, it's gonna be a tough call. Coming from the Inspire 2, and knowing that the I3 is way out of price range for the work I'm doing at the moment, I really think I'll want the better camera in the Mavic 3 Pro. But the Air 3 is so close for so much less money!
Would you say the video quality is noticeably better on the mavic 3 classic than the air 3? And the adjustable aperture is worth it for someone too lazy to mess with nd filters a lot?
I’m not selling my Mavic 3 Pro anytime soon but I may sell my Avata and Mini 3 Pro in exchange for the Air 3. My main gripes with the Air 2S have been solved with the Air 3 and it’s small enough for my needs with much more capabilities. Great comparison thank you.
I have had the mini 3 pro since launch and wanted to upgrade. just got the air 3. Having second thoughts, should I have just gone with the Mavic 3 pro?
Great comparison Jake! I also agree with your comments about the 12MP photos vs the 48MP. I was testing this in Dominican republic and noticed the 12 MP looks more natural and less of that weird sharpening look. 5:20 Holy cow! What a RIG you have there sir!
As an Air 3 owner myself, I can confirm that this drone is super incredibly fast (for a non-FPV drone) and the 3x camera also has the neiche advantage of being able to capture 4K slomos, which is not possible in the Mavic 3. The incredibly long battery life makes it very good for shooting hyperlapses of the entire sunset from the sun touching the horizon all the way to the sky turning blue all within a single charge if you first plan the waypoint mission with a battery, then save the mission, take a fresh battery and immediately start the mission. You will make it - barely - but If this wind is rather abscent you should just barely make it. Also having 2 equally capable cameras wont give you the feeling of "sacrificing something if you zoom in. I have flown Mavic 2 Pros and Mini 3 Pros before but the Air 3 is definitely by far the coolest drone I have flown so far, also easily outperforming the Mavic 2 Pro. That 60° gimbal tilt may be a neiche feature, but it will give you very cool shots if you have a subject standing right at a cliff. As a EU citizen I do appreciate the sub 900g feature, but I really dont mind it as much. I do own both the A1/A3 and A2 licenses but I dont really pay much attention to follow all the rules anyway. I'd confidently fly an Inspire in a city at night time out of VLOS as of caring about the rules. I'd be more worried of crashing my drone rather than breaking the law. This is of course illegal but honestly as long as you have rather fool proof routines/check lists, nothing will happen. Drone laws are so incredibly strict that you basically cannot fly them if you want to comply with all of them perfectly.
Mavic 3 Pro or classic for me as my next drone. I currently have the Mini 3 Pro and use it primarily for photography. Big sensor, adjustable aperture and stability are what's important to me
First, nice review and beautiful shots as always 👌 I have heard a rumour about people crashing the Air 3 in active track, because the drone gets over confident with small branches and things like that, were the Mavic 3 don't go as fast and behaves different and thus survive. Active track is just a gimmick if you ask me, the Skydio beats DJi at this if that's your thing. I will keep my Mavic 3 safe in my collection. The HasselBlad camera and adjustable apature is too good when you first gets used to it.
Good morning, do you think that the dji air 3 can be suitable for a semi professional/professional? for event videos, weddings, tourist advertising, short films. thanks in advance.
Jake, awesome review, you actually made me more comfortable to choose Air3 pro for my hiking in Japan. Question, if I do want to upgrade, will the RC pro controller also work with the mavic 3 pro?
currently the RC Pro controller only works with the mavic 3 and the DJI RC 2 (shown in this video) only works with the Air 3, hopefully they will be able to be made compatible in the future
@@JakeSloan thank you. That definitely limits flexibility in east upgrades, having to completely retool. Hoping they have compatibility as well. Thanks again Jake!
Good comparison, great review! Which of the 2 photos do you think shows the most realistic colors? the photo of the Air looks a bit purple and strange at 2:09
If you do a lot of photo work then the mavic 3 for sure but if you do more video work and some photo work I think you will be very happy with the Air 3
I am new viewer of your channel and I confident that I click on the video because I am in a great hesitation on buying the Mavic 3 Pro or the Air 3. Your own comparisons are such well argued that you probably make me finally choose between these two drones. You are a great filmmaker and a very good speaker 😃. Great job for this video !!! 💪💪💪 I’m agree with you about the Mavic 3. The principal Hasselblad Camera is amazing 🤩 but … that’s all for me 🤷🏻♂️. I think the Air 3 is more « homogeneous » because of a dual camera with exactly the same quality and same features on it. I would like a premium drone like a potentially Mavic 4 with dual camera, but this time, with both micro 4/3 sensor. And these two with variable Aperture. It would be for me a perfect drone because the third camera on Mavic 3 Pro seems to be like « Gimmick ». If one day this drone release, even if it costs 4500€, or 4800$, it will be a real game changer for me. No Mavic series for me while 2 or 3 cameras have such quality differences between it. Thank you so much for your work 🙏😘
Those are absolutely beautiful drones that take absolutely dreamy shots (and this was a great video). But they're ridiculously large to carry around for general use. It's like carrying around the old 35mm camera vs. the Sony RX100 VII. How quickly did we stop carrying 35mm? Going from the Air 2 to the Air 2S was more significant than I expected, and I preferred launching the Air 2 in public. Yeah, the Air 2S takes better shots but it also makes more noise, which I don't like. I'd rather carry a Mini 3 to Alaska, but even that's stupidly large with either the DJI RC or RCN1. I'm really liking the size and simplicity of the new Hover X1, and think they're on to something... Cheers.
I’m learning cinematography. Never owned a drone. I’m about to buy one. Can you please recommend the better video camera for me ? I’ll be learning how to color grade and edit. As I’m a very new beginner I hear the air 3 is better so i can shoot in dlog. Please respond for help ! Great video 😊
Thanks for a great review, Jake 👍 Would it be possible for you to check what frame rates are available in Slow Motion for both drones? And what is the frame rate of a video file they save on SD card? Unfortunately, I can't find this anywhere in the specs. Thanks in advance.
Please help me choose. The Mavic 3 classic or Air 3? I am not a photo editor. I will use it for general stuff. Inspecting my roof, tracking me, family, dji Google flying. Long distance.
Hi Jake, great video! I'd love to know your tips for hand catching the drone like at 2:55. Whenever I try, it hovers and messes around for ages before agreeing to land, whereas you just made it look so effortless
I’ve never owned a drone. Never even operated one. I’m thinking of buying the air 3. Living in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta Canada, I’m looking forward to getting some good nature and wildlife vids
Thank you very informative video, i see that classic is on sale now, has been for that last 3 or 4 weeks for roughly 1500 canadian dollars or 1100 US. In your opinion, is it a better buy than Air 3?
I’ve been flying the Mavic 2 Pro since it was released. Great camera, a bit of a clumsy flier with Go4. I crashed it a few times due to the lack of side sensors and had to buy a MA2 as a backup while it was being repaired. MA2 good flier, sub-standard video quality. I finally bought the Mavic 3 Classic a few months ago to replace the M2P as my main drone. I liked the longer focal length of the M2P, now wishing I had the dual camera w/ the 70mm. But, I wouldn’t trade it for the aperture control. You make a good case for the MA3 as a companion for the dual lens and other factors. But then, the Mavic Mini 3 Pro @ 249g also would be a good complement depending on your laws locally and likely destinations.
Been checking daily for this review. Taking your advice and keeping the M3P after returning the Air3. Really want the best images I can get for large format prints. Thanks for the great work!
Bought a used Spark a few years back, and have enjoyed flying it, minus having to use my phone for a screen, definitely will be picking up a used one with the RC, is it worth buying a used with RC, I've heard the older ones are being fazed out or something to that like that. Any input would be helpful! Thanks Josh!
Thanks for the great video, Jake! I love how comprehensive it is. For me, I would be fine with the video from the Air 3 or the Mavic. I'm more concerned with the still images. Would you say the Mavic 3 pro will shoot significantly better still images or is it pretty close there? I get that the Mavic has better dynamic range and variable aperture. I may have answered my own question. Question 2: How do you get such great sound outdoors without a visible lavalier?
First, excellent video. you are remarkable showing every details. Second, correct me if i am wrong, mavic 3 pro is more pleasing to my eyes while mavic air 3 is more contrast, when you are comparing side by side, you looks too red compare with the pro 3, did you color grade or something? maybe with a filter will help to looks more natural and not too contrast? last question, you never used that 70mm mavic air 3 close to you as a mavic 3 pro that you did. i want to know if that close up with mavic air 3 will make more difference, like mavic 3 pro that blur and separate the object for the background. Im in the market now between air 3 new or mavic 3 used(2 cameras). thank you and excellent video.
I've been having issues with the M3 active track. I've been trying to track various objects like a boat in motion or my family doing watersports and I've found that I basically have to be right next to/on top of them for it to figure out what it is I'm trying to track. It still won't work with the watersports, the subject has to remain still while it's trying to figure it out.
Perfect video, thank you for that one ! I would like to go for the M3 Classic but I’m worried about the futur release of the Mavic 4 maybe, any opinion if I’m safe for now or if I should wait ? Thank you !
Hello Jake, great and clear video👍👏A honest video about both drones, not only about all the great points about the Air 3 to boost the sales! I have the Mavic 3 Classic and Mini 3 Pro myself. The Hasselblad on the Classic produces the best video using D-log. The variable aperture on the Classic is gold. When capturing clouds the dynamic range and video quality on the Classic is so much better when watching the video on my 4K TV. I decided to pass the Air 3 and wait for the maybe so called Air 3 Pro or 4. That telephoto lens is quite tempting! Will upgrade my Mini 3 to the Mini 4 when it comes out probably. Greetings from 🇳🇱
Great comparison. Momently I'm at the Algarve - Portugal and making a lot of photo and video. The problem I have with the Magic 3 classic, I lost a lot of times the signal when I'm about 5OOm away (without any wifi or other antennas around me) so my question is the Air3 'really' much better than the M3C signal, and would it be a good deal to change the M3C for the Air3 in your opinion?
Thank you very much for the comparison Jake. It is hard to beat the Pro in image quality and versatility when taking photos. In video, what I noticed, is that many shots the Pro tends to greener tint while the Air to magenta. Was that intentional?
Thanks for putting this together, only question remaining is how does the Mavic 3 Pro handle surveying? I'm not looking to get into the business of surveying, but I need to be able to survey various pieces of land I'm currently considering buying to start my farm on in Colombia. Essentially, I need a great content creation drone for my farm, but I also need to survey maybe 5 pieces of land just once. The Multispectral seems overkill for now but something I'll need in 12-24 months once I've planted my 30-50 hectare orchard. But this also handles accurate surveying with it's RTK module.
for anything official you would need a drone with RTK, but for just your own informal information this drone can handle looking at and gathering imagery of the land you are looking at buying
@@JakeSloan great, thank you for the reply, I managed to find an M3M for a bit cheaper on eBay so I splurged because it seems the consumer grade models can't be given instructions to plot and create a 3d map
Thanks , great video. Just wondering about video editing software. I’m a beginner. Is there also any references on how to apply LUT’s to videos. Thanks.
in description and in titles you say that you compare dji mavic pro vs dji air 3 but in your hands dji maviv pro CINE. now the question is which footages from CINE version ?
much of this footage is from many different places in the US but the main outside parts where I am talking to camera and showing side by side is in the Talkeetna Mountains in Alaska
Thanks Jake now I really need to think about the Mavic 3 Pro as well as the Air 3. I’m currently flying the Air 2s and want something for better night time flights. Your footage from the Air 3 looks great to me!
Into the future, non hard core professionals, will struggle with increasing laws. So, the Air III is a better long term fit. 🎉 But...that Hasselblad camera....hard to say no too. 🎉🎉🎉 Mini III Pro 4eva.
Hi Jake, huge fan - tune in all the time from Indiana, was curious how you feel about the new leaks of the Mavic 4 - I watched your review, its very obvious to see that if you have the budget, the Mavic 3 pro is currently where you want to be. However, do you feel by DJI standards we could be getting ready for a Mavic 4 Pro as rumored online? Also they sell they bundle with the rcpro controller, however alot of speculation for an improve rcpro 2/ and limited capability for the rcpo with all other newer products. Lastly you mentioned that 30 degree head tilt on the MAvic 3 pro - do you find that limiting? What would Jake Sloan purchase right now, if wanting the best DJI offering - Is it still the Mavic 3 Pro - or are we in a weird space where we need to see what spring brings?
Thank you! I don't think we will see a new Mavic 4 until late next year at the earliest based on the past release schedule. I think the next drone to come out will be an FPV/avata series
@@JakeSloan Wow ! I want to upgrade my Phantom 4 pro but I don’t want to give up the flexibility of the camera settings. How does the air 3 even compete being wide open all the time at f1.7? I assume you can adjust the iso and film speed ?
Thanks ! I really liked it. At 6.20 in the FLY application on RCPro, sharpness changes on M3pro are shown. I don't have such a scale on the M3pro in FLY. Maybe only Air 3 has this ? Thanks !
This video is excellent, Jake! I'm in the market for a new drone, was tossing up between the M3P and the A3, and this succinct presentation couldn't have popped up at a more opportune time. Brilliant, thanks mate! 👌👍
I just ordered the Air 3 with the N2 controller for 1,099 I don’t usually purchase the RC or RC 2 because I already have invested over a grand in my IPhone and I have the N1 controllers for my mini 2, mini 3, mini 3 pro, mavic air 2 and Air 2s and I have always had great results from them. Eventually later on I might go back and purchase the RC-2 just to try it out. But sometimes coming up with A grand or more to purchase a drone can be difficult. After life’s expenses and bills come out of those paychecks it’s not always easy. I would love to have the mavic 3 but I would probably choose the classic version instead. I was disappointed that DJI completely took the first mavic 3 off the market. But I believe they put most of its features into the air 3. When you compare the Air 3 to the mavic 3 pro one thing to keep in mind is the mavic 3 pro is 2,199.00 and the Air 3 is 1,099.00 you can purchase to of the air 3 models for the exact same price as the mavic 3 pro. So paying double for the mavic 3 pro you should definitely get a better camera. Actually everything on the pro should be better. But unfortunately it’s not.
Jake, you forgot to mention the noise signatures or lack thereof. How much noise do these generate when flying over a beach or city neighborhood. This is where the the mini series eats these two guys lunch. Whilst you can zoom on this big boys, the mini can get ultra close without noise.

Now that I’m looking I really need a drone and I’m not sure if I can wait for the air 3s should I get the air 3 or wait ??
I would wait just a little longer to see what DJI has in store for the Air 3s
Dang, it's gonna be a tough call. Coming from the Inspire 2, and knowing that the I3 is way out of price range for the work I'm doing at the moment, I really think I'll want the better camera in the Mavic 3 Pro. But the Air 3 is so close for so much less money!
agreed! but that inspire 3 is just amazing
Would you say the video quality is noticeably better on the mavic 3 classic than the air 3? And the adjustable aperture is worth it for someone too lazy to mess with nd filters a lot?
it is on the main camera only and even with the adjustable aperture you will need to use ND filters or raise the shutter speed in bright conditions
I’m not selling my Mavic 3 Pro anytime soon but I may sell my Avata and Mini 3 Pro in exchange for the Air 3. My main gripes with the Air 2S have been solved with the Air 3 and it’s small enough for my needs with much more capabilities. Great comparison thank you.
you're welcome
I have had the mini 3 pro since launch and wanted to upgrade. just got the air 3. Having second thoughts, should I have just gone with the Mavic 3 pro?
if you have the budget maybe but I find myself using the Air 3 for everything except client shoots
I just bought the Air 3 to go along with my Air 2 both are great Drones love them both
thats the way to do it!
A pretty solid review. I definitely found the all answers that I was searching for, Jake. Thanks a mil!
Awesome, thank you!
Great comparison Jake! I also agree with your comments about the 12MP photos vs the 48MP. I was testing this in Dominican republic and noticed the 12 MP looks more natural and less of that weird sharpening look. 5:20 Holy cow! What a RIG you have there sir!
LOL yeah I was testing some cinema lenses on my FX6 and filming a small project
Absolutely stunning footage, Jake. Awesome video!!
Thank you
Great pics I spy ouray colorado ammisrite? also can air 3 run off mav3 controller?
the Air 3 cannot run off any other controllers at the moment, and none of these shots were in CO, I do hope to get there some day soon though
thats what I figured because why would DJI act like we keep them up and running. and it looked very similar to imogene pss In Colorado @@JakeSloan
The waterfall shot at 5:55 was dope! Did you use waypoints to film yourself or did someone control the drone?
waypoints for the win!
Air 3 video looks better side by side imo. The colors are more vibrant. Maybe when you're zoomed way in mavic 3 would be better.
hmmm interesting
It's not better because it appears more vibrant.. that just shows it's worse when it comes to dynamic range. You can tell instantly.
Drone laws are so incredibly strict that you basically cannot fly them if you want to comply with all of them perfectly.
excellent take on the Air 3!
Coming from a mavic air 2. Would the air 3 be a notice camera quality upgrade ?
from the Air 2 yes from the Air 2s the photos are still better on the air 2s but the video on the air 3 is better
Mavic 3 Pro or classic for me as my next drone. I currently have the Mini 3 Pro and use it primarily for photography. Big sensor, adjustable aperture and stability are what's important to me
Definitely the best photo quality
First, nice review and beautiful shots as always 👌 I have heard a rumour about people crashing the Air 3 in active track, because the drone gets over confident with small branches and things like that, were the Mavic 3 don't go as fast and behaves different and thus survive. Active track is just a gimmick if you ask me, the Skydio beats DJi at this if that's your thing. I will keep my Mavic 3 safe in my collection. The HasselBlad camera and adjustable apature is too good when you first gets used to it.
agreed and yeah no active track (including skydio) has been able to deal with small branches etc
Good morning, do you think that the dji air 3 can be suitable for a semi professional/professional? for event videos, weddings, tourist advertising, short films. thanks in advance.
yes it can, I used mine for a heli skiing shoot a few weeks ago
Jake, awesome review, you actually made me more comfortable to choose Air3 pro for my hiking in Japan. Question, if I do want to upgrade, will the RC pro controller also work with the mavic 3 pro?
currently the RC Pro controller only works with the mavic 3 and the DJI RC 2 (shown in this video) only works with the Air 3, hopefully they will be able to be made compatible in the future
@@JakeSloan thank you. That definitely limits flexibility in east upgrades, having to completely retool. Hoping they have compatibility as well. Thanks again Jake!
thanks. air 3 70mm and mavic 3 pro 70mm same image quality?
yes they are
Good comparison, great review! Which of the 2 photos do you think shows the most realistic colors? the photo of the Air looks a bit purple and strange at 2:09
The Mavic 3 definitely has the best most natural color out of the two.
Please tell me would it be worth the wait to save the money for the mavic3 or just do the air 3 ? Thanks !
If you do a lot of photo work then the mavic 3 for sure but if you do more video work and some photo work I think you will be very happy with the Air 3
@@JakeSloan ok thanks , I’m appreciate it!
I’m agree with you about the Mavic 3.
Thank you so much for your work 🙏😘
Thank you very much and I agree, I can't wait to see what the Mavic 4 is capable of
Great video Jake. Thank you.
Yep, I'll start with an Air 3. Future: Depending on features, a Mavic 4?
awesome plan
Cheers.
Agreed
Hover X1 with a stacked 1"image sensor, better stability, & a gimbal on the camera & that will be the drone to crush DJI
I'd get the DJI pocket 3 to start with
Thanks for a great review, Jake 👍
Would it be possible for you to check what frame rates are available in Slow Motion for both drones? And what is the frame rate of a video file they save on SD card? Unfortunately, I can't find this anywhere in the specs. Thanks in advance.
so when you film in the slow motion mode it is set to 4k120 and it will conform it to 29.97fps on the SD card
I have the Air 3 on the way. Excited on my Purchase.
awesome
Hi! should i change air 3 for mavic 3 classic? Air 3 is great and have 70mm, but mavic 3 have bigger sensor and hassel....
I'd wait, there are rumors of a new drone coming
Please help me choose. The Mavic 3 classic or Air 3? I am not a photo editor. I will use it for general stuff. Inspecting my roof, tracking me, family, dji Google flying. Long distance.
then I would definitely get the Air 3
You going buy a drone to inspect your roof? That’s crazy 😂
what I love about the dji air 3 is the strong connection, first drone I can send flying super far without too many concerns about loosing connection
agreed!!
cations you have chosen for the shoot?
captions?
Great comparison, thanks. Here in Europe, I need a comparison of how they are at spotting tanks, and avoid jamming, unfortunately.
oh interesting, I cant help you there though
I hate that the only Mavic 3 Pro options are with th RC or RC Pro and there is no option for the RC2
yeah that would be nice
Hi Jake, great video! I'd love to know your tips for hand catching the drone like at 2:55. Whenever I try, it hovers and messes around for ages before agreeing to land, whereas you just made it look so effortless
You have to keep your hands away from the downward facing sensors which the smaller a drone gets the harder that gets lol
I’ve never owned a drone. Never even operated one. I’m thinking of buying the air 3. Living in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta Canada, I’m looking forward to getting some good nature and wildlife vids
Go for it!
Thank you very informative video, i see that classic is on sale now, has been for that last 3 or 4 weeks for roughly 1500 canadian dollars or 1100 US. In your opinion, is it a better buy than Air 3?
it is for photo work, but if you plan to do mostly video then I think I would go Air 3
But then, the Mavic Mini 3 Pro @ 249g also would be a good complement depending on your laws locally and likely destinations.
great points and I agree
Hi Jake - love your videos BTW! You thoughts on whether you would recommend upgrading the RC to an RC Pro for my Mavic 3 Pro?
thank you, I love the RC pro for the mavic 3, I hate having to use a phone to fly any drones now lol
Been checking daily for this review. Taking your advice and keeping the M3P after returning the Air3. Really want the best images I can get for large format prints. Thanks for the great work!
Thank you so much!
If you purchase a used dji drone with the DJI rc 2 then you will be good for a bit since that is their newest controller with a built in screen
@JakeSloan How will I know if it is the RC 2? Is the RM330 the RC 2?
I only need 360 spear for VR please suggest a drone on budget
The mini 3 drones only do photos in 360 currently. There are none that do 360 in video
Can the AIR 3 output photos in hyperlapse mode? If not, can it output the hyperlapse video at 60fps?
not in the app, you would need to create the hyper lapse in post to get 60fps
Thanks for the great video, Jake! I love how comprehensive it is.
For me, I would be fine with the video from the Air 3 or the Mavic. I'm more concerned with the still images. Would you say the Mavic 3 pro will shoot significantly better still images or is it pretty close there? I get that the Mavic has better dynamic range and variable aperture. I may have answered my own question.
Question 2: How do you get such great sound outdoors without a visible lavalier?
you're welcome!
which one is the best in sport mode?
they are the same speeds in sport mode but the air 3 gimbal handles a bit better because it is smaller and lighter
@@JakeSloan thx!
Im in the market now between air 3 new or mavic 3 used(2 cameras). thank you and excellent video.
if filters were available for the air 3 at the time this video was made it would have helped...
Great watch Jake! This was incredibly informative. What kind of TV shows use your Mavic 3 footage?
I've shot for a couple seasons of a show on A&E and a few shows on ABC
@@JakeSloan That's epic!!! I'd love to get into that kind of work at some point in my career!
I've been having issues with the M3 active track. I've been trying to track various objects like a boat in motion or my family doing watersports and I've found that I basically have to be right next to/on top of them for it to figure out what it is I'm trying to track. It still won't work with the watersports, the subject has to remain still while it's trying to figure it out.
watersports are difficult for both drones honestly. I have the issue when I am kayaking as well and with both drones
@@JakeSloan It seems to have issues picking up smaller objects.
Perfect video, thank you for that one ! I would like to go for the M3 Classic but I’m worried about the futur release of the Mavic 4 maybe, any opinion if I’m safe for now or if I should wait ?
Thank you !
You are safe right now, the next version of the mavic 3 is at least 1-2 years away
Thanks a lot for the response !
Thanks! Jake. I have the Mavic 3 Pro and the Mini 3 Pro. Now the Air 3 seems to have a place in the middle, more like nearer the Mavic 3 Pro, for me:)
nice and I agree
how long until the Air 3S comes out? I'm so ready to buy
I would love to see it tooo but I have no idea
does anybody knows if batteries are the same from magic 3 pro and classic?
yes they are, the air series and the mavic series have different batteries but the batteries for all the mavic 3 series are the same
Hello Jake, great and clear video👍👏A honest video about both drones, not only about all the great points about the Air 3 to boost the sales! Greetings from 🇳🇱
you pretty much nailed it
I've got the Mavic 3 pro and I don't seem to be able to find the sharpness setting. Just not there. Will this appear after a firmware update?
are you filming in DLog? if you are it is off and cannot be turned on
@@JakeSloan Yes I use Dlog. I can't find the sharpness setting anywhere. It's not listed anywhere.
Great comparison. Momently I'm at the Algarve - Portugal and making a lot of photo and video. The problem I have with the Magic 3 classic, I lost a lot of times the signal when I'm about 5OOm away (without any wifi or other antennas around me) so my question is the Air3 'really' much better than the M3C signal, and would it be a good deal to change the M3C for the Air3 in your opinion?
unfortunately that is due to restrictions on output power in the EU and it cannot be overcome or changed
@JakeSloan so the Air3 could give me a solution, minus photo quality on the Air3 but 'better signal quality'?
Which one is quieter or has better tone?
I show the difference
Thank you very much for the comparison Jake. It is hard to beat the Pro in image quality and versatility when taking photos. In video, what I noticed, is that many shots the Pro tends to greener tint while the Air to magenta. Was that intentional?
Agreed and no it wasn't intentional, They definitely lean one way or the other depending on the drone
wow, this is great! so hard to find good concise reviews on the image quality of DJI's various drones! I was so confused!
Glad it was helpful!
i own a holystone 7204k and i do alot of hiking with a drone so i have been thinking about getting the air3 thank you
you're welcome
Great video. I have the 3 Pro and the Mini 3 pro. Your video proves my point that I dont need a middle drone.
Definitely not. You’ve got all the bases covered!
Thanks.
I’d look at the free version of davinci resolve
Was this in alaska? If so, where?
This is pretty much all in the Hatcher Pass area
in description and in titles you say that you compare dji mavic pro vs dji air 3 but in your hands dji maviv pro CINE. now the question is which footages from CINE version ?
the footage from the cine is exactly the same as the normal mavic 3 when you film in h264 or h265 which is what I did
What is the name of the place where he is in mountain ranges? It really a nice place
much of this footage is from many different places in the US but the main outside parts where I am talking to camera and showing side by side is in the Talkeetna Mountains in Alaska
Hi thanks for entertaining and informative videos! Which filter pack ND/cpl do you recommend for Air 3? I want the best.. Thanks!
I highly recommend the freewell split ND set!
@@JakeSloan thanks for fast reply! Kjell
will they soon add the Macic 3 series on the DJI RC 2 smart controller?? 🤔
I hope so
Thanks Jake now I really need to think about the Mavic 3 Pro as well as the Air 3. I’m currently flying the Air 2s and want something for better night time flights. Your footage from the Air 3 looks great to me!
Nice! It does do a really good job!
Went from the mini 3 pro to air 3 and absolutely love it
NICE
Into the future, non hard core professionals, will struggle with increasing laws. So, the Air III is a better long term fit. 🎉 But...that Hasselblad camera....hard to say no too. 🎉🎉🎉 Mini III Pro 4eva.
agreed!
Does the Air 3 have fixed aperture ? Or can it be adjusted ?
it does not
@@JakeSloan Wow ! I want to upgrade my Phantom 4 pro but I don’t want to give up the flexibility of the camera settings. How does the air 3 even compete being wide open all the time at f1.7? I assume you can adjust the iso and film speed ?
Yeah and use ND filters. I think the mavic 3 series is probably what you want to look into
Hopefully the Mavic 4 will get released in the near future! Holding out hope for that one
That would be cool!
Thanks ! I really liked it. At 6.20 in the FLY application on RCPro, sharpness changes on M3pro are shown. I don't have such a scale on the M3pro in FLY. Maybe only Air 3 has this ? Thanks !
That was the air 3, the Mavic 3/ Mavic 3 Pro doesn't have that yet
Thanks !
This video is excellent, Jake! I'm in the market for a new drone, was tossing up between the M3P and the A3, and this succinct presentation couldn't have popped up at a more opportune time. Brilliant, thanks mate! 👌👍
Glad it was helpful!
Ne aldın
is there a difference in range with the RC2 vs smart controller 2?
The Rc2 has much better range since it’s O4 and the pro controller is 03
when are estimates for the Mavic 4 to come out?
Hahahaha your guess is as good as mine
The air 3 is an excellent choice
Finally ordered Mavic 3 pro fly more combo. Thanks for the video, really helped to decide!
Enjoy!
Jake, you forgot to mention the noise signatures or lack thereof. How much noise do these generate when flying over a beach or city neighborhood. This is where the the mini series eats these two guys lunch. Whilst you can zoom on this big boys, the mini can get ultra close without noise.
This isn’t a comparison with the mini. But you’re right. It’s by far the quietest drone out there
