🔷 ABOUT US 🔷
We're a DIY family building our "forever homestead" from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.
In today's video I bring you on a tour of my brother's off grid home office and give details on his power generation, usage, storage and other components that make up his fully off grid power setup. The backbone of this project is the BLUETTI AC300 with two B300 batteries and Reliance Controls Pro/Tran 2 Power Transfer Switch. Let's go!

Nice slick setup. Clean and ingenious!
Thanks Sam!
Nice setup. I'm planning for my new shop to be off grid as much as possible. 👍👍👍
Good evening Sam, what an amazing product , it is incredible how much I have learnt since watching you and your educational workings .
Sam nice off grid home office building! Very informative.💯
Just wanted y'all to know y'all remind me of me and my wife of going on 27yrs LoL I love watching y'all
Cool seeing it work, y'all did good.
Neat! Wish you were available to set up a system for my house!
You should know about it. I like to have one to have one for my but when you live on ssi you don't have extra funds. May the lord bless and protect you and your family
Your clarity of thought processes is excellent. It's definitely difficult to explain systems like these. Exceptional insight and colloquial dissemination of a procedural nature. Thank you.
That's a really nice setup. Once again, I'm jealous.
What little I have I can make do except 3- 6 weeks in a Michigan winter. I live in my motorhome and I don't have anything fancy. I use a 100 watt boxed system right off the Harbor Freight shelf.
You're awesome Sam, keep up the good work.
I’ve got a bluettti for my future art studio. I’ve solar panels for it .This is perfect timing
Awesome!!
Good job Sam. Looks awesome. I'd like to get it here but afraid our rain and gray weather in the PNW leaves a lot to be desired. I do see them around here however and huge arrays of panels .........but you never know. It's all going to be coming to something sooner or later for power improvement to be sure. Great video!
😅😂😅😂 I just saw you picture post from 3 days ago!! And yes I can read it!!🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations!!🎉🎉🎉
Nice!! Maybe some day 😢
❤️👍👍👍
Wow this is amazing, I'd love to try this for our future home. Thanks for sharing!
Price for everything including a ray
That's really neat. Why doesn't he just plug it into one of the outlets in his office and it could recharge itself while powering the office? It could keep itself fully charged all the time!!!
LOL
Do you ever talk about the cost of solo equipment, and how long it takes to pay for
Awesome 👍
I’m looking to use solar in my barn, nothing this fancy, just something basic and cost effective. Solar is confusing though, I feel like I just watched a video in a foreign language 😂
Great information Sam, do you plan on setting your shop power the same way?
I will need something larger for my needs, but hope to do an off grid system in there someday! The house will come first though… hint hint
@@GreenAcreHomestead😮😮 How awesome!! I've been trying to get my husband go solar since back 8 years ago. The fear of the unknown, I do believe...and fully understand!
@@GreenAcreHomestead so that’s what those batteries are for. Lol
I am curious as to where/when is the break even point of the system. How many kilowatts/years until the money spent of the system would equal paying for power from the grid. And then how much longer after the break even point before more money would have to be spent to replace batteries or solar panels, or even the unit itself? Thanks.
How many hours would one Bluetti 3000w run a typical refrigerator/freezer single unit. Typical wattage used by refrigerator?
In a power outage scenario, my main concern is the food storage devices.
Lastly, any concerns with a Bluetti in the house from a Lithium-ion battery fire perspective?
Bluetti uses lifepo4 version of lithium, not the lithium ion batteries that burst into flames in tesla's, cell phones and laptops.
Although I would never spend my money on a solar generator from Blue Eddie or any of the other battery in a box suppliers except possibly a small unit that's portable when I am working somewhere that I either need 200 ft of extension cord or the power is off and I don't own a battery-powered tool to do the job.
Great video very informative... One question, how much has this lowered he's monthly power bill if any?
I have a question Sam .... I am looking into this same equipment and I saw where you mentioned the double pole breakers in the switch panel. From what I have managed to find out, in order to be able to handle 230 ac volts output for say a well pump...I would have to have two inverter units and a phase synch device from them to be able to produce the 230 ac output to run the well pump. Can you verify or elaborate on this? I do know that to establish a 230 volt single phase service it is required to have two 120 volt ac circuits 120 deg out of phase, just trying to get familiar with the hardware required by Bluetti to get it done. By the way, we love your channels and watch them all, even went back and watched pretty much all of the older uploads. Thank You ! Be Good!
You are correct. To get 240v output from a BLUETTI unit you need their kit and to connect two units at once in a certain way. It may be of greater benefit to purchase a 240v inverter and do a more traditional setup is portability is not of the upmost priority.
